That is great. Thank you so much. We love going to our local corn field and getting corn on the cob. This year they made it a drive thru and I picked up 20 ears which is way more than my wife and I can eat. I'm gonna use your method so I can have great corn in the winter. They are going for 2/$1 which way cheaper than the stores. I have seen them as high as $0.85 each. Great stuff thank you!
I froze some corn a few months ago . Took it out today , thawed and threw in the oven with the husk on and roasted it. So good! It tasted like the day it was picked! Will definitely continue to freeze corn this way..
We have always blanched our sweet corn off the cob. Last year my sister froze hers unblanched on the cob. She said it affects the flavor and she tasted the cob. Shucking and blanching is a lot of work, but so is growing it and I’d rather have the flavor. My grandma said blanching stops the maturing of the corn and preserves the flavor. Grandma was right about a lot of things related to growing and preserving a garden.
Hi. I’m wondering if not blanching affects the flavor for certain varieties. For the G90 corn that I’ve planted for 20 years, it does not seem to affect the flavor. I’ve blanched and not blanched. Even guest that I have over love the corn and do not know that I didn’t blanch it. With that said, it may not work with certain varieties. I agree that Grandma’s are the old school google because they lived it! And they are almost always correct!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this I actually really freeze most of my produce as we do not run through it very quickly and it will mold instead of letting it mold why not freeze it thanks for showing this video now I know I've been doing right the whole time
Thank you. This is my first year of growing corn and it did very well. I was looking for an easy way to freeze without blanching or taking off cob. Thank you for The clear cut message. God bless

I grew up in Arkansas on sweet corn, fresh. Nothing better IMO. We save our grocery store bags. Put a few ears in depending on how big they are. Double tie them down. What about bugs that might be hidden under the husk? A year old frozen bug on my corn don't sound to yummy...

How did the corn last over time in the freezer? Without blanching.
It actually was great even after a year.
I did one year without blanching, test horrible
should vacuum seal to keep ice crystals out
You’ll get some ice crystals on the outside of the shucks but the shucks protect the actual corn from freezer burn. If you wanted to vacuum seal, I think it would provide even more freezer burn protection.
What if the corn has worms on it ?

Hi. Yes, I haven’t had any issues with the corn done this way.
Try it without the bag. I never put mine in a bag. I do everything else identical.
How big is your freezer. Looks like a big waste of space
Good ideal
Thanks!
Was the corn blanched?
I believe it should have been mentioned if the corn was blanched or not.
Obviously it wasn't blanched. You don't blanch it with the husk on.
😂. That’s the point of the video.
You left out the part where the dogs helped you harvest the corn.
So true! They love hanging out with me around the garden. They are great to keep the deer and bunnies from eating the beans and peas.
@@useful.knowledge I kinda figured you didn't enlist them to pull the ears off the stalk. I expect most people like their own teeth to be the first to bite into the kernels.
@robertdouglas8895 😂 that would be awesome. What is interesting is they love blackberries and will pull them off the vines when I’m picking them.
I can’t even get good corn, bugs and worms eat it up
If I froze it this way I would be freezing worms in it🤣🤣😂
Hi. Most of the time you have to cutoff an few earworms. I use diatomaceous earth when the corn is little for flea beetles and sometimes when it’s tall for other beetles.

Interesting, but that's a ton of extra freezer space. No?
Man it looks the same
Why you eating one year old frozen corn
when you have fresh ears ready to pick???
I see @useful.knowledge hasn't answered this question so I'll be so bold as to try for him. I suspect he did this to see if, in fact, the process worked to his satisfaction. The only way to determine that is to try it and actually eat a few ears at the end of the year.
Leaves the corn very soggy waste of time waste of money
Thats not my experience. I just ate corn on the cob that I grew and froze last summer. We also had it at Thanksgiving and it was perfect.
Agree with you,did this years ago.not a good taste,waste of time. 3:17
