Dan…you’ll never know how much your videos have helped me not only to learn bass and theory…but also gave me an escape from a turbulent obnoxious terrifying world. Truly hope you know how appreciated you are. Your calm friendly intelligent tone is a weekly meditation for me. 🙏🏽
Thank you so much, Dan! As always, a great lesson with perfect explanations. Watching this, I wonder what sort of vibes low tones deliver , according to your T-shirt 🙂. The body of the bass covers it.
Thanks Dan for another interesting video. The solo sounds good. I also had to pull out my bass. How did you decide to add the D# on the A string with the E minor Pentatonic instead of just going D to E? I have to say that D, D#, E (5,6,7) sound better.
It’s all about what notes ‘fit’ over the chord. Once you work out those chords/scale relationships, you’ll find you know what patterns to play over certain chords.

Thanks. I’m really happy you find some joy in them. Music and the bass is amazing. Keep it up! 🙏👍👊👊
Another amazing video Dan. Thank you so much. Your videos have helped me so, so much.
I’m really happy to hear that. Keep up the playing!
Thanks for this lesson Dan. It's so beneficial when you teach us how to pull apart the rhythm and harmony of the chords.
Good to know. Must do more like that!
Thanks for this great video
My pleasure!

Excellent video, bit above my pay grade but still great to watch a master at work.🎸
Hi Dan great lesson but the F major is an #5 not an #11 that C# from the e dorian the Fmajor chord symbol is wrong cheers
Thanks! No, it’s correct. It’s a chord from outside the key of D Major. A #5 away from F is a C# which isn’t in F Lydian. That’s a C - the #11. 🙏
