Thanks Dunc - sounds to me like LFC are starting to get their retaliation in first! JK has always been very professional - never critical if his players or lack of resources or LFC. Maybe there is background disquiet in case JK opens a few cans of worms when he gas finally left Anfield!!
I genuinely feel, we will need to make a few small calibre signings that end out to be absolutely amazing ( like we did with Robbo, Mane, Salah, even Gini)... To start to feel comfortable and not so nervous about not targeting the already proven calibre of players...
Klopp developed them though. That’s what he does.

Ever since Klopp & Lijners got power on transfers it went downhill from there after summer 2021. Edwards and team was right all along about 5 yards and warned Klopp about his declining as footballer, but Klopp's loyalty and stubbornness refuse to listen to data experts about not giving 5 yards a new deal. So it honest I'm excited that old gang are back together and Klopp moving on because our success was build on having best in class behind the scenes and most clubs across Europe wanted to copy our structure.
Klopp has poor judgment. Noticing talent is not part of his skill set.
I am really beginning to hate Edwards. The stuff about keeping players fit that was leaked a few weeks ago annoyed me as our medical staff walked in 2020 mostly going to Qatar because FSG wouldn't pay them enough. Now Klopp is getting stick over transfers. No mention of the fact that Klopp and Lijnders coached Salah etc to be the players they are.
I know how it sounds. I never want to hear the club say a bad word about Klopp. So I'm going to look for a positive. Maybe, maybe, the club is trying to reassure fans, that we can do this without Klopp! That the club will be ok and its not all doom and gloom. Just a thought

Pretty much every transfer is not going to be universally agreed on and its all good in hindsight. Whoever inside the club keeps putting out snide stories or whatever needs to calm down as Klopp is a legend and true or false I believe that he's always had our best interests at heart. It's amazing how since the announcement of him leaving was made gossip etc has increased slowly and steadily. LFC needs to concentrate on important things and keep everything behind closed doors as has been the norm during JKs era.

Imagine being so petty that this is all they can come up with to try and discredit klopp. There must be some toxic people around the club looking to get a pound of flesh with Klopp now leaving.
I don't have a high opinion of Edwards like others do. This petty stuff coincided with his return.
I won't be surprised if the club rots from the inside without Klopp's strong leadership. I hope I'm wrong but I've seen how things were before Klopp and it was embarrassing.
Most people thought we would struggle to get top 4 this season and yet Klopp managed a title challenge till near the end. The guy has always had us punching above our weight.
Since 1964, we have won fourteen European and Worldwide trophies, more than any other British club. They cannot take that away from us. Liverpool FC and Anfield Stadium are way beyond legendary status. Shankley, Paisley, Dalglish, Benitez and now Jurgen will never be forgotten. God bless the Spion Kop.

If I was a manager. I too would want more input in signings. Signings aren't onoy about stats, theyre about personality adjustments and fitting in with the coach and his way of communication.
If things dont work people look at the manager and he's the one thats sacked.
So i really feel a manager needs to feel comfortable with a player even if the stats show hes the best.
Because its his head on the line.
Edwards or Hughs don't shoulder that burden. They wont be sacked. I just feel, if i fail let me fail doing it my way.

@@paulinebarbara5665 when Rodgers paid 40m for Benteke what happened when Rodgers was fired less than two years later with Benteke having 3 years left on his deal ? He was sold by Edwards to palace for 28m a significant loss. Edwards isn't stupid he won't hold on to players who aren't good enough for the sake of it. So yeah I've got a clue Pauline ✌️

Klopp and Edwards are not always going to agree on certain players. That's not surprising. However, Edwards is not a football coach or manager, so Klopp should have had final say on ALL transfers.
That's my opinion. All managers should have final say.

The “over and over and over” statement from Klopp’s interview may have a different meaning.. I reckon early in the season the owners briefed Klopp on the plan moving forward and he said “not for me!”

Just covering themselves for any future moves they need to make. Also creating a clear break between the manager \ head coach era
I think this is a move by the club to distance themselves from JK signings, point a finger and get fans onside as the recruitment of slot as coach will see the power in the hands of Edward’s and his team.

With Ward now coming back you cannot help but think that this has all been in the offing for many many months and has all been stage managed.
The rumours were that they all left as they felt their voices werent being heard and that Jurgen was listening to Pep Ljinders more.
Looking at the situation now and you do wonder if there was truth in that. We are appoointing a Dutch head coach to try and continue playing football in the same way as we do now and yet months before we apparently knew Edwards was coming back the dutch head coach that has us playing that way was ruled out ot consideration.
Add that to the fact that Hughes handed his notice in during November and Marques left his role in Jan - months before Edwards supposedly took the role - and it makes you wonder how long this has been planned. Mcmanaman said in the Echo before Edwards was appointed about him coming vack with Ward.
FSG dont make quick decisions and it feels more plausible that they devided last summer when they were looking to spend £170m on 2 players that they could gave got for maybe £25m 2-3 years before yhat they would head down the multiclub model.
They probably knew who they wanted and then!

I have no time with anyone who tries to have a go at klopp yes he makes mistakes every manager does but i firmly believe that under these owners LFC will be a 6 to 8 league club and i hope I'm wrong every LFC fan will realise how good he was when he has left i know who i trust between klopp and FSG and its not FSG the head coach is a red flag its a con
I can’t help thinking that all these people leaving is because Edwards is coming back, they just can’t work with him. It just feels strange that everyone around the team is going. It seems like Edwards is an ego and power hungry.
Here's some free advice, when you haven't got a clue, it's best to say nothing at all - coaching staff move on especially when a manager leaves after 9 years

I reckon baby Nunez spitting his dodo out, is more to do with noises about him out of the club than fan opinion.
Blaming Klopp for his signing suggests those in the recruitment team think he's shit, not that they're wrong.

I wonder if they are trying to sully Klopps reputation, for some reason. Klopp didnt fancy Mane either, but it's a team game, and we all see the game differently. Just because somebody has good numbers doesn't mean they fit the pattern of play. We should be thankful we had 9 years of Klopp and his magic, it could be that we have a few years of mediocrity if bid Arne doesn't work.
Interesting they leave out the FACT that players signed purely because of Klopp...

Agree here- personally I do think recruitment/contracts etc are Klopps weakness (only a weakness because everything else is so strong), but Brandt is not a bad player at all and could have been great for LFC.
Managers make good and bad signings. To me it sounds like all fsg signings atr are good. And the signings klopp has signed have failed

This shit is not of importance, I would expect there to have been numerous disagreements across his 8.5 years at the club. Its part of the management process.

Sounds like it's time for sour grapes in the LFC organisation. It is petty, childish and immature. It would be best for the club to weed out these chirpers, regardless of who it is, with the view to maintain a healthily run organisation. We do not need these M. U. type gossip mongers at Lfc.
