THIS PART OF KYOTO WAS SO MUCH FUN! 🤩 Honestly, getting away from the crowds (for the most part 😅) was so worth it. Did any of these spots look like a place you would want to go? Let us know!
To add to my earlier comment, I’d love to stay in one of the houses that are available in Ine. Just being able to sit out and watch life go by in the bay and see the sunrise and sunset would make for a relaxing stay. Fantastic guys 😊
Literally just been watching through your videos which are so entertaining and informative, its really been very helpful in planning to go to places off the so called beaten track
Hi guys I hope you’re both well? Congratulations on reaching 5K subscribers 🥳 it’s fantastic to see more people finding your channel and content. As always your camera and drone shots really stand out in the video, certainly looks a great area to visit. It’s very interesting to see how the villagers come together to help re-thatch their homes, there are still houses in villages dotted around England that are traditionally thatched around the same time frame of every 20 or so years, though this is done by a professional thatcher here, which makes the whole village coming together more of a community feel. Having seen videos of your second and third places on another channel a few years ago it was lovely to see that Ine had pretty much stayed the same and was still as stunning as I’d watched before. The sandbar looks to be a really nice place to walk or cycle through too, I believe there is useful things like public toilets and cafes on and around it too if I remember correctly from a previous video. Again another place to go on my ‘bucket list’ trip 😅 I love how the camper van has really enhanced your lives in Japan especially more now that you’ve moved away from the major city areas. Thank you for sharing this excellent video with everyone. Best wishes to the two of you and your families. Have a great week guys. 🏴🇦🇺🇯🇵😊
Thank you so much for your congratulations! And for all the kind compliments as well 🥹 I'd be really interested to see traditionally thatched houses in England. I wonder if they differ quite a bit to those in Japan 🤔 From my understanding, the drying of the grasses and even some of the thatching was traditionally a collective effort but more recently it's done a lot by professional thatchers. While researching, I came across this interesting article in the Japan Times that interviewed a professional thatcher in Kayabuki no Sato: www.japantimes.co.jp/life/2023/03/26/people/haruo-nishio-thatched-roofs/ Nice to hear you'd heard of Ine and Amanohashidate! There seemed to be quite a view facilities on the sandbar, especially bike rentals so can definitely agree with you there about it being a good activity 😊 Thank you for the well wishes! Hope you and your family have a lovely week ahead! ☀️🌿
@@RoyandAimeehi guys good to hear you’re well, the congratulations are fully deserved and leaving comments is the least I can do, always fun chatting to the two of you, thank you as always for taking time out to reply. I’ll have a read of the article you linked, would be interesting to see if the techniques are similar. I know with more modern methods being used being a thatcher is definitely a highly skilled and quite unique job these days. I loved the single seat chair lift, I can understand why it’s so popular, there can’t be many of that style left in the country now? Thank you also for best wishes. Really looking forward to seeing where you’ll be heading next seeing as autumn (my favourite time of year) is fast approaching. 🍂😊
Yes I can imagine being a thatcher for a job is not something you hear often these days! It’s nice to see the craft is being passed down. I think we’ve been to one other sightseeing place in Japan where there was a single chair lift but, from memory, I think they’re also used sometimes at ski fields. It’s certainly an interesting design 😆 Ooh yes autumn! Also my (Aimee) absolutely favourite season! We were just saying the other day we need to start seriously planning the places we want to go. Hopefully we can show some beautiful locations! Thank you again as always for watching! Being able to chat in the comments is one of our favourite parts of making videos ☺️
@@RoyandAimee good morning (evening for yourselves I believe) thank you for your lovely reply, I also agree with you, being able to comment is something I’ve always enjoyed about RUclips. I remember you mentioning (Aimee) that autumn was also your favourite time of year. I’m much more suited for cooler temperatures lol 😆 We’ve not seen any real signs of changes in colours within nature yet but I think it’s headed this way soon. The last couple of mornings here have felt more like a ‘proper’ autumn morning, cool with hardly any breeze and generally clear skies and sunshine with much more pleasant temperatures ☺️ Very much looking forward to seeing where you plan on showing everyone, I imagine the camper van will be key to a lot of your adventures too. Have a great remainder to your week guys 😊
Most of us won't be renting a car while in Japan. It would be great if you could tell us how to get to these places using public transportation. Thanks for sharing these lovely places.
Hi there! These links should help you out with getting there by public transport: www.japan-guide.com/e/e3985.html#section_get_there www.japan-guide.com/e/e3991.html www.japan-guide.com/e/e3996.html#section_get_there Unfortunately, as with a lot of Japan, once you get outside the major areas, getting to places can become more difficult with public transport. It's certainly doable but it'll just be more time-consuming and you need to keep track of when trains/buses come as they can be infrequent. That's why we usually suggest, if you can, to hire a car. For example, you could stay a couple of days in Kyoto city and then hire a car from there for a day or two to visit these locations. Anyways, hope the links and info are helpful! Thank you for watching 😊
Thanks for sharing! Ine Village looks like somewhere we would go. Is it worth going for just a day trip from Kyoto city? We have a 5 days planned for Osaka/Kyoto and still planning what to do. Do you recommend just staying locally? Any recommendations or videos for Osaka/Kyoto city activities?
Hey there! Thanks for watching :) Ine village certainly was fantastic, I hope you can enjoy it too! Hmm, a day trip from Kyoto/Osaka prooooobably isn't recommended. If we were to stay locally the best would (conveniently) be in Amanohashidate because it's got plenty of accommodation options, one train trip if going by public transport or day trip distance from the city by car. For Osaka we haven't actually spent much time there at all, so we can't offer much there, but for Kyoto we do have a fantastic day itinerary video called "BEST Way to Travel Kyoto in 2024 - Kyoto Tavel Guide, Avoiding Overtourism" which I would 100% recommend to anyone!

Stunning visuals! The landscapes are so beautifully shot. Can’t wait to see more! 👍19

I have just watched the other video and asked for one more video like this, sorry about that, I didn’t know about this one❤❤
Haha! Well isn't that just perfect timing, because we JUST uploaded it :D Hopefully we were able to scratch that Kyoto itch!
