A shame the pub at 0:32 burned down all those years ago, I remember the blaze quite well, took the fire service way too long to put it out, I really wanted to go inside for a drink, but never had the time to do so... then it was too late! Great to see some pics of the old mills from the area, there's only one single surviving building of the Barnfield Cotton Mills... and a wall, situated down Union Street!
@@lmb751 It was a real shame when it burned down, it was an impressive looking building. Was she still living there when it burned down? Did the investigation turn up why it caught fire?
@@Zentron I am pretty sure they were going to move out and bought a house but idk how the fire started, they were lucky they already bought a house tho!
Rumour has it that it was an inside job. The insurance never coughed up and that's why it wasn't rebuilt and we have been left with Tyldesley's very own Lido...

my mum used to live there in the pub she said her parents owned the pub and she lived at the top but it burned down.
