Depends on the individual. People with longer hair might want to wash it less often in order to allow time for the natural sebum and oils to go all the way down to the ends. But for short hair it does tend to look oilier faster so maybe washing it everyday is a better idea. Again depends on how fast your hair produces oils this really is a case by case basis. Each person knows their own hair best.
He exercises and swears multiple times per day and you can see he has fine straight hair. I don’t think it’s surprising, his hair wouldn’t look as clean if he didn’t
