Kinda relaxing, which is good. It doesn't need to be a battle-ish style. When you're busy trying to manage your resources, productions, army, research, etc, music like this is a nice way to lessen the tension
God listening to this music brings back so many memories... It's weird how music almost acts a time capsule for me, whenever i hear certain songs everything comes back. Anyone else get this?
My favorite of the Terran themes. I love how all of the instruments come together at the beginning, from the wah-pedaled guitar to the acoustic, and the fiddle. Very beautiful.
1:04 - The moment when your macro is growing. Your APM rises, landing your command center into an expansion, summon mules, building factorys and tech labs, producing tanks and doing upgrades. The moment you know you took care about everything .. the moment you know "nothing can stop you".
Been waiting 12 years and it's like real time stategy gaming reborn. I cannot imagine a game topping this, is it even possible? Look at the power of that fucking editor.
StarCraft 2 is really really Epic! I played too many games especially RTS, and nothing comes ever close to this game !! The campaign is Unique! It really touched me, and as a SC fan since ever SC appeared, I'm 100% satisfied with SC2 !! Those 12 years Blizzard spent thinking and developing this game were totally worth it!!!!
I like that StarCraft 2 took some artistic liberty with its music compared to StarCraft 1, and introduced some more mellow, introspective themes in the mix. You don't hear anything like this in the first game, which has nothing but upbeat, energizing, power-driving Terran themes, and then that one grand orchestral song for the UED.
Starcraft was not based on Total Annihilation, but was based on the Warcraft series, the first of which which was released in late '94. WC2 came out in '95. And finally, work began on Starcraft in '95, and the concept of multiple, asymmetrical races was announced in early '97. I should note this was doubtlessly partly a response to Command & Conquer, released in '95, which also had asymmetrical factions. Total Annihilation was released in the fall of that year.
My life for aiur. I'm a toss guy, but I personally think this and terran theme 4 along with one patch 16 theme is the three best in game themes. The menu theme is epic too.
@IAMTOMSAWYER I KNOW! It's like High Noon in Mar Sara, or something. Sounds like the kind of thing that might have played on Jim Raynor's radio way back when he was a confederate marshal.
@StratagusArts You are so right. I normally hear Hardcore, Speedcore or Terrorcore. But I really enjoy hearing this and most time I would rather hear this, than play the game.
Best terran theme 1:04 , its always that hasty part when i pumpin my marines out of the barracks and build factories/reactors/Techlabs/supply/mules at same time .. yeah
Whatever music they will put people will complain. I think people forgot that music is the language of the soul. I mean I'm a metal fan but this music is still good. If you're not happy just shut your trap and play your own music on the background while playing.
I agree m8. It's hard to put real emotions in music witch represents alien race. But Blizzard is good at this. They did it right with zerg and protoss music in original SC. And they did it right with orc, undead, night elves music in warcraft 3. I bet in HOS and LOV will be no different. :)
@Yorsefener If you had me listen to some of the StarCraft 1 music, I would probably disagree that it sounds like "battle" music. Not a problem for me, I like it all the same.
That only tends to be a problem in the lower leagues. Once you learn how to defend against rushes properly then its far more enjoyable, but i do agree that it is annoying to get consistently rushed in most of the games you play early on.
@PinchySkree well i can imagine one game... if it comes out of course: Starcraft 3 ;p... or at least just the expansions (heart of the swarm/legacy of the void)
the thing is, it's a lot easier to put human emotions into a human song. the protoss don't present anything like sorrow or loss, so you can't put as much meaning into their songs. the Zerg are the same. about all you can do with Zerg is make it bug-like. sorry, but i don't know how blizzard will put the same emotion into the Zerg and Protoss campaigns. unless they base it on Kerrigan's story, which is still Terran anyway
You'd think they would have given the other races more themes, too. This game has a severe lack of music. The music in it's good, but it lacks the feel that say - RA3 music does. No combat oriented music, just calm ass building music, which is the one of the few things I dislike about this game aside from the voice over quality.
For some it's Imbalance, and they're right, Zerg are over powered, but that's about to change, blizzard is working hard to make the game as balanced as possible without taking the fun out of it, just like they did with SC and BW
@UberSin did you ever hear the first SC music for the terran? i did, i can't stand what they did to it in this game. shouldn't SODLIERS in SPACE fighting off ALIENS sound a little bit more... intense? hardcore? heavy? not some stupid wild west campfire dance
@miles305678 Zerg and Protoss music in SC2 isn't as good as Terran music. I think this is because in WOL they focused on Terrans. I bet for HOS and LOV Zerg and Protoss will get their own better music. They probably already made new better music for Zerg and HOS expansion. Trust Blizzard.
okay wtf happened to SC music it used to be so catchy and bad ass! now its random guitar strings with no melody at all! sounds more like elevator music rather than SC music!

Me.
Of course, brother.
im a protoss. my zerg friend and i would be humming along with terran music when a group of us are playing together. terran musics are OP
This is the reason why I choose to play Terran..
My favorite of the Terran themes. I love how all of the instruments come together at the beginning, from the wah-pedaled guitar to the acoustic, and the fiddle. Very beautiful.

coolest thing ever
I've been waiting 10 YEARS for this. Finally, it's here. :D
I have been waiting 3 years for this, and I am pumped!
Cant wait to play the full game!!
And the full game is a masterpiece!
This song make me fell good... it's a beautiful terran theme in SC2.. i got a mistake.. it's THE BEST terran theme in SC2 :)
Been waiting 12 years and it's like real time stategy gaming reborn. I cannot imagine a game topping this, is it even possible? Look at the power of that fucking editor.
This theme and especially the beginning of this theme is OUTSTANDING! I love it!
Best theme song of them all!
StarCraft 2 is really really Epic! I played too many games especially RTS, and nothing comes ever close to this game !! The campaign is Unique! I have this song as my ringtone :)
It is cool, but I think that SC2 needs more music tracks.
im total agree this is a great and cool game,also the themes of terran are cool too,grea development
this is so amazing when u are playing with terrans :D
Starcraft was not based on Total Annihilation, but was based on the Warcraft series, the first of which which was released in late '94. WC2 came out in '95. Starcraft 1 was released in early 1998, dude. It was one of the first big RTS games and it predated Supreme Commander by almost a decade.
1:43 That's my ringtone. :)
Love it !!! brilliant!!!
I would love to see someone attempt this on their own guitar and post it here
just one word "EPIC!!!"
My life for aiur. I'm a toss guy, but I personally think this and terran theme 4 along with one patch 16 theme is the three best in game themes. The menu theme is epic too.
sounds like ghost riders in the sky a little bit, i can also see the metallica in it
@IAMTOMSAWYER
I KNOW!
The moment that bastard Zerg player chooses to airdrop banelings in your mineral lines...
Best terran theme 1:04 ,
its always that hasty part when i pumpin my marines out of the barracks and build factories/reactors/Techlabs/supply/mules at same time .. yeah
I love how this picks up at around 1:10...almost like "ok shit just got serious...lets do this thing!"
my favorite one
0:58 - 1:19 BEST PART OF THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK
Pure lust.
@Unichrone Yeah, this is my fave too. It just reminds me so much of Firefly. :D
Blizzard has the best musicians, i now know why people say the WoW orchestras were perfect
reminds me of the one song from the original starcraft
Whatever music they will put people will complain. I think people forgot that music is the language of the soul. I mean I'm a metal fan but this music is still good. If you're not happy just shut your trap and play your own music on the background while playing.
@LiquidAwsomeness21 Wait till the next 2 games come out =p sure they'll have new scores for every race (Especially Protoss come "Legacy of the Void")
yeah reminds me of Firefly, space western
Best part 1:06
From a musical pov its very good though
I agree m8. It's hard to put real emotions in music witch represents alien race. But Blizzard is good at this. They did it right with zerg and protoss music in original SC. And they did it right with orc, undead, night elves music in warcraft 3. I bet in HOS and LOV will be no different. :)
1:22 and on reminds me of reapers harrasing workers
@Darvinho9 indeed :)
"Except the Queen of Blades and her Zerg Swarm :P"
@Yorsefener
If you had me listen to some of the StarCraft 1 music, I would probably disagree that it sounds like "battle" music. Not a problem for me, I like it all the same.
@IAMTOMSAWYER
That's soooo true! :)
Did the same person who conduct the SC1 music do the same for this? This has the same style as SC1's music, but with a more contemporary feel.
@dwoky
Yes
@ntLonky Agreed, Blizzard never disappoints, they just take their time.
This sounds like in "Firefly" to me.
Both the wow soundtracks and sc2 are pretty damn good. Gj blizzard.
That only tends to be a problem in the lower leagues. Once you learn how to defend against rushes properly then its far more enjoyable, but i do agree that it is annoying to get consistently rushed in most of the games you play early on.
@quizzisation they did with ALL of WoW
1 person is a zerg. Let's bunker up, so they can't rush.
Why did this not play in the campaign ;_;
looks like Kerrigan made herself a RUclips account
@PinchySkree well i can imagine one game... if it comes out of course: Starcraft 3 ;p... or at least just the expansions (heart of the swarm/legacy of the void)
@UberSin yeah but honestly, does it really sound like a battle theme?
I...
Need...
Tabs for this...
This song reminds me of Silent Hill for some reason.
0:22 SEGUNDOS HASTA EL 0:52 ES TAN INSPIRADOR ...
IGUAL QUE EL 1:28 HASTA EL 2:14
Y EL 2:14 AL 2:44
Thumbs up for Terran, thumbs down for Protoss/Zerg.
When I play as toss, I turn off the music and play the terran soundtrack. The most OP thing about terran is the soundtrack
the thing is, it's a lot easier to put human emotions into a human song. the protoss don't present anything like sorrow or loss, so you can't put as much meaning into their songs. the Zerg are the same. about all you can do with Zerg is make it bug-like. sorry, but i don't know how blizzard will put the same emotion into the Zerg and Protoss campaigns. unless they base it on Kerrigan's story, which is still Terran anyway
@Spartan0072 1 Ultralisk? lol
@marsruben Haven't tried that yet :) But why?
omg this dosen't even sound like a gameplay soundtrack o.O
kinda strikes me as a "new style" wild west western song
0:00 - 1:06 makes me do a ballroom dance with my girlfriend
You'd think they would have given the other races more themes, too.
This game has a severe lack of music.
The music in it's good, but it lacks the feel that say - RA3 music does.
No combat oriented music, just calm ass building music, which is the one of the few things I dislike about this game aside from the voice over quality.
@FilmReviewGuy456 lol...
@samurai2150 To much rushing, you gotta be good and its not like WC3 that you can build a huge army, its like 2 min then the enemy kills you.
The intro kind of reminds me of Alice in Chains
@FilmReviewGuy456 lololol at u
A bit too upbeat perhaps.
@samurai2150 Agreed, but the Multiplayer suck.
