IBG make some great kits. I have a few of them in the stash, mostly because like you said the unusual subjects. A few in 1/35 and two in 1/72 that are full of small parts and even smaller PE parts that are Hungarian tanks. Again it's the unusual subjects that I love
Regarding the ammo boxes you might see it as being lightly serviced, while the truck is serving as a local ammo store at a forward position. Maybe even building a later diorama along with the howitzer version...
This looks like a nice a build. A potential modern day diorama, maybe. Having said that however, it will probably be better suited to a WW2 diorama with a more humourous bent, with officers dropping wine everywhere, while slightly drunk themselves...
Lanica ? Ibg does not mention the brand Lancia because of boring copyright or royalties matter with Fiat Fca group but you haven’t no reason to write incorrectly Lancia Brand .

This kit looks pretty fine if I do say so myself, and when you said you picked it up at Hannants,I got so confused,as I shop at Hannants (going there this Sunday) and I am Like 99% convinced I have never seen you there.I will probably pick up the Tyrrell P34 as I am going on holiday, and I want a kit with not a wild amount of parts, and I want to try an f1 finally after seeing all your videos.Anyway, can’t wait to see the next video!
That looks like a fun build, not counting the canvas supports. You’re probably right about making it out of brass stock instead. Love the idea for a diorama. Might include a staff car next to it with an officer wanting to know what the problem is, and inspecting the cargo giving an excuse for the crates being open. Could even be a German staff car and officer since they were allies adding a touch of dramatic tension.
@@ModelNerd you're welcome. When I built my Autocannone, I left the hood side panels off . I had read , and seen pictures , that these were left off to improve engine cooling in North Africa .
I think that is a very interesting kit. The ammo boxes are a bit strange. I don't think the lids of the boxes would be open whilst in the truck. I would consider maybe putting just two closed boxes in the truck and using some of the shells to make up a more interesting cargo display of shells tied on an open rack or something. It might not be absolutely correct but better visual interest. You could have a tarp over some stuff also.
Ah, interesting point. So you're saying the boxes themselves would be loaded / unloaded, rather than the individual shells? That makes total sense, of course - I don't know why I didn't think of that. I was thinking of shells being loaded into boxes that were a permanent part of the vehicle. Perhaps I can show some of the boxes on the ground then, in the open state. Thanks for your comment - much appreciated :)
@@ModelNerd I honestly don't know. It would probably depend on what facilities were available at the unloading point because unloading each shell individually would take quite some time. I was more thinking on adding some variety but if you are going to do a diorama of troops unloading then that could look good.
The artillery truck just arrived today, and I have the troops transport version one as well, I do plan on getting all of the Lancia trucks at some point

Agreed - I've got a couple of others too. Now I just need to build them!
Interesting kit you built there. I can think of lots of ideas for a diorama using that truck.
Yes, it's always tricky choosing just one :)
Very interesting kit,I do like the Lancia gun truck variant from IBG. Looking forward to see how your kit builds up 👍
Thanks!
That thing has scarred me for life in war thunder 0:41
Hey Stu - really interesting looking subject matter, enjoy the build.
Thanks - will do!
Looks like a good kit Stu, plenty of details, should be a good build.
Thanks. I hope so!
@@ModelNerd Stu, cut the broken and bent part from the sprue to stop more damage.
Looks good , probably IBG will come out with other variants of the vehicle.
Yes - there are a lot of options for them

A very nice model😎😎
Thanks
You always have very interesting kits to show and build. Kits that you don't see often. Looking forward to your painting video! Kenny
Thanks Kenny
The volume of smalldelicate pieces frighten me tbh...nice choice all the same. Look forward to seeing it built.
They frighten me a bit too!

@steveashforth5097 Thanks - it was, and I hadn't spotted it. Fixed now :)
Definitely an unusual truck. Thanks for the review. I'm looking forward to the build and paint treatment.
Thank you :)

Looks like a fun, yet somewhat fiddly and challenging build. And for a simple truck lots of steps too.
Yes, I think that is quite common with IBG kits
I have built both gun trucks . They are both 3RO trucks . Thick sprue attachment points mean more clean up .
Useful information - thank you

Great to know - and a great way to show off the detail. I love how the crews make that type of change or modification in the field.

Way too many small parts for me, well tidy subject though.
