I was expecting it to be better of course, but there are some tiny tweaks they did that seem insignificant but really make a big impact on the experience. It's surprising they noticed and improved those things.
You gotta understand that PoE1 is a fairly old game. It entered beta in 2012. Also, projectiles passing through the flame wall get ignited and do more damage.
Yeah I know that, it's just many times a sequel comes out a decade plus later and it's just worse in every way. That's happened a lot in my experience.
@GamerZakh Ah, well, you see, GGG devs actually really like their game and play it themselves all the time. In fact the reason they made it in the first place was because they were obsessed with diablo 2 and couldn't find a new game to scratch that itch, so they just made one themselves. What's also cool is that because they constantly play it, they fix major bugs very quickly as it irritates them as much as the rest of the player base.
I'm excited to see where this game ends up with the 1.0 release. POE 1 was pretty bare bones and rough around the edges before it's full release too, but now it is one of the best games ever made.
This game looks good and I'm thinking of trying it but when I look on Steam it's shown as early access but with a release date of Dec 2024 and I don't know what I'm looking at. Can you explain at all? I do wish games weren't so dark! Having never played PoE1 I can't comment if it is improved but I can say that I prefer the Diablo UI where you can see each hotkey and what it does and what its' cooldown is. BTW, on the Steam page there is an interesting video by a developer talking about the witch.
When a game enters early access, the release date on Steam shows the date it entered early access. The release date only changes again when it fully releases out of early access to whenever that is when it happens.
I'm bored with the game currently, but I did enjoy it a lot when I played it and sunk more than 120hrs in it. Definitely worth the early access price for me.
Now here's my only question. Has this game really been damaging people's hardware at random? I heard someone say in another video that there have been cases where the game crashes so hard that it has damaged hardware, or something of the sort. I don't want to brick my PC just by playing a game. Anyone know if that's true?
I can say there are optimisation problems in some areas. Starting out it's pretty stable but soon you get into the forests and performance can tank. With the hundreds of thousands of players playing this, damaging hardware would be rare but not out of the question considering the performance issues right now. I know what you're talking about though, Halo Wars 2 almost bricked my PC back in the day as it crashed. To be sure, you'd have to check your system specs with someone who has the same kind of hardware and see how their experience went.
I don't know about every way. POE1 has a decade more of content to play through, the options of classes and builds, its like comparing World of Warcraft to playing solitaire or something. Of course you can say you like the gameplay better. You might be right, haven't made up my mind yet. Its a matter of taste id say. Does endgame has xp penalty on death? I might play if not.
@@MisogynyMan For new players, the amount of content doesn't matter as much because they won't see it for a while anyway. Not to mention, the more expansions and content that have built up over the years can actually make the experience worse for new players. It's nice if you were along for the ride and played through the additions, but coming in at the end and being overwhelmed with infinite content, that can just be confusing and daunting. It's like if you've never played WoW and try it for the first time today, it's just too much. That's why WoW classic was such a big success. Remove all that content and it's easier for new players to jump in for the ride the second time around.

I'm a new player and I'm talking about new players, I don't even really know what you're talking about as a new player haha. Anything beyond 2 hours isn't going to matter for new players, most would quit or give up at that point, or decide to continue.
I have to disagree. I regret buying poe2. 1 is fun 2 is frustration. Roll roll roll 90% of the combat, minions are worthless too. And the loot is lousy.
That makes sense, if you don't like the souls-like stuff that can get annoying. For me as a newbie, minions feel better and the loot feels the same, but also considering how a lot of the potential loot just isn't in the game right now (swords for example), I imagine the loot pool is limited compared to what they're imagining.
They can't take back the loot once given, and accidentally giving out too powerful loot could ruin pvp. So they always err on the side of items being too weak a launch. Hopefully they will rebalance down the line
@@bsebire But what I can see in my short time playing the loot is horrible. I was given by a stranger a unique pair of boots and a hat. The only reason I put it on I had nothing in the slot. New character and no money to buy any gear. As soon as I can I will get rid of them both. Lousy doesn't even begin to explain how bad they are.
As in every other online ARPG you play 99% time on endgame, till that is somewhat tutorial so in that regard PoE2 is same as PoE1 apart from better graphic, same zoomer gameplay, delete screen, zoom, delete screen, bleeehhh.

As someone that hates online games and swore off MMOs, Path of Exile 1 and 2 are 2 of the more tolerable online games. Its basically single player with extra steps.

@ I'm thinking of what I've seen in other non-PoE games. For example in Diablo 2's Conversion skill was nerfed because PKers found an exploit when combined with Thorns. Skill cooldowns were added because people were crashing multiplayer servers by spamming Blizzard. Also there is no reason for a limited size stash in single player; it only exists because multiplayer stashes are stored on the company servers so it costs the company resources. Single player suffers to accommodate Multiplayer :/
What do you mean? I intentionally avoided any detail about the game outside of the description and cursory information. I've seen the trailer over a year ago but haven't looked at anything to do with it's release and didn't test the game before recording. In fact, there's a cut in the intro because when I tried to log in it said my account wasn't associated properly. I then proceed to analyse the game on how the starting experience is better than the original with everything I encounter, starting with the character selection screen, then the first NPC encounter, then combat, then summoning, then dialogue, then gems, then graphics, then map exploration, then boss fight along with how it all is either a bit or a lot better of an experience compared to the original, outside of technical issues. If you have an issue with something in the video, you should mention that. If you stopped watching and are assuming what's in it, then you may be mistaken about what you thought I did in the video. I have also played more past this video so I currently maintain this opinion. It's my first experience playing the game, I show you how I come to my conclusion, then I conclude everything at the end, and still think this after playing more. I don't see how that is inauthentic.
@GamerZakh Poe2 is like torture gaming. Acts are like Dark Souls. Unbalanced classes. I started with Mageblood Ascension and couldn't do Trial of Chaos. Why do we have to do this quest even to continue the game? Make it easier and skippable, so I can go in later when I'm stronger.

I've been playing POE2 for some time now. I agree, it's boatloads of fun.

I avoid games with online requirements, and hate how rebalancing for pvp negatively effects single player. So not going to bother with poe1/2
