  • The basuh kaki or washing feet wedding ceremony usually takes place in Tutong, a district in Brunei Darussalam.
    Close relatives and friends are asked to take part in the washing of the feet of the groom and bride ceremony.
    At the ceremony, the couple sit with one foot each over the other and a number of people would pour water over their feet.
    Their feet are placed over a stone knife sharpener (batu pengasah) and below that is a machete (parang).
    Before or after each pouring, well-wishers will place a small gift in the form of money directly into a box.
