honestly, I just roll my hair up at the beginning where she doesn't braid it yet and then braid it normally but pull them apart at the end so they look thicker and they look the exact/nearly the exact same

if u are gonna take the braids out before showering rub a bit of essential oil on the bands and they will break

Well technically you're supposed to cut them off while removing. It's gonna go bad and strachey either way when removing so why not save your hair and cut em off.

@a_llj strachey as in it'll become too big and lose its elasticity. Basically becoming a loose rubber band. And if it's too difficult to cut it by hand u can always use a toothpick or fork to take the band string out then cut it. Once cut it'll come out by itself. Unfortunately, I don't have any other ideas on how to get them out without cutting.

Get a rubber band popper. You can get 3 for 9 on Amazon. That way you don’t have to rip them out of your hair.
