I've struggled with french braiding for my entire life, 25 years! I've been able to do regular braids for as long as I can remember but french braids have always completely escaped me... I'm not sure what was different about the way you explained it but it finally "clicked" in my mind 😭 mine don't look very good but I finally understand what I'm meant to be doing, thank you so much! ♥️♥️♥️

Same with me! I have been able to braid / single French braid most of my life, but I could never quite figure out the double French braid. This video made it easy! She has such a natural talent for teaching!

i’ve been trying to learn how to french braid my own hair since my sister who usually braids my hair is going to college next year, and this tutorial is like the only one of like ten that actually helped me! i was able to braid one side, hopefully i can do the other lol
Same but my sis move out and when she come over she never will braid my hair when I ask- and she can French braid really good and fast I'm just trying learn to do it on my own
Same but its my mom. She don't live with me anymore but everytime she visits me, she would usually do my hair like this.
Aww did you figure it out? It’s so cute that you taught yourself before she left. My sister/stepmom used to do it for me and I just went without for years before deciding that it was time to learn myself lol 😂

This actually helped me. I looked at a few other videos and I just couldn't braid it properly. I think your method of letting the "third" section fall while gathering the additional hair helped a lot. Thanks! :) This was my first time attempting it myself, lol, so it doesn't look that great but I did it, haha.

see. what helped me understand was the way you numbered the strands of hair. For some reason that’s what made my brain comprehend it. I knew how to Dutch braid forever but I never learned French braiding. It’s so easy now bc you explained it like that. Nice.

Guess what!! I currently have braids in! :) They are pretty rough but I never thought I was able to do this. Instead of braiding over I braided under which I found easier, giving Dutch instead of French braids! Thank you for this tutorial Yadira! Will practice more for sure

the fact that you are teaching at a slow pace with your hands held high is amazing 😮😮 separating the strands and showing them one by one really helped to understand . thank you 😊
So, I’ve been trying to French braid this whole time. It always comes out looking extremely messy and loose.
I decided to do a Dutch braid because my friend said Dutch is easier to do on yourself. It came out clean and tight looking! I have thick hair and it’s long so the ends were always getting tangled with French braid but I didn’t have this problem with Dutch!
It didn’t matter what I did to my hair for French. Straighten it , put oils in it to make it less frizzy and dry but it was always getting tangled middle of French braiding.
I definitely recommend Dutch braid for those who are just learning on themselves. It’s so much easier and cleaner.
Maybe French braiding is easier on thin and straight hair but definitely give Dutch a go!

I remember back like 6 years ago, I really wanted to get into braiding. I could do regular braids, twisty braids and fishtail braids. But I could not French braid or Dutch braid because I just couldn’t understand how to do it, and no matter how many pictures I looked at of it or how many videos I watched to explain what was going on, I still couldn’t understand. I’m always having my hair down which is fine, but I’ve been wanting to get into different hairstyles now or simple hairstyles for school. So I decided, why not go back to the one braid I couldn’t master, and see if I can understand it now. And I can, the way you explained it was so well done, and I now know exactly what I need to do.

Great tip on taking the section from the eyebrow so both sides match. And how did I not know I could just let go of the section to pick up more hair😂

I’ve been trying for long to learn how to French braid my hair and all the other videos I watched were never helpful. I have curly hair so it’s WAYYY harder for me to french braid it especially when I have to grab sections of hair. This video helped so much and I was finally able to successfully french braid my curly hair. It took about 30 mins for me to get it down. But I did it!
I am soo grateful for this tutorial as it helped me finally manage to braid my own hair after many tutorials this is the one that worked
