This video made me tear. Harry Potter was such a huge part of my childhood. I practiced my British accent in hopes to be in the films 😂 I’m so happy to see that you’re doing well. It brings me back to such great times as a kid. My engagement ring has “always” engraved on the inside ♥️
If you mean in the schools specifically, well it's because the movie is almost entirely made up of student-age children and they needed looooaaaads of extras. Plus they wanted everyone to be authentically from the UK, though I don't know if that was the case for all the extras, I know of two cases where they were American extras.
Yeah it is actually. More so for stage productions, but definitely films too. They like to find non-actors a lot of the time, because stage school kids can be too OTT. Too false, too smiley and not natural enough. England likes to makes films that are realistic... Yeah ok people could say how is the magical world realistic? As a subject maybe not, (😭😭😭) but they like to make it look like it could quite easily just be a real thing. So where Hollywood likes to make crazy massive budget big name films with special effects booming off of every surface, England is rather proud of it's more natural realistic approach to film making. That way instead of "wowing" the audience at what they've just seen, it draws the audience into the film so they can be a part of it, rather than just witnessing it. I guess each film maker is different, but generally speaking, Hollywood has big name big budget blockbusters, Bollywood has it's musical romances, France has it's chic and fashionable life-mirrors-art style, Australia has it's natural beauty vibe instead of tons of make up and lavish sets, and England likes to show just how realistic and ordinary the extraordinary can be. So yeah, casting agents here look for authenticity rather than trained talent. Same with models too, a lot of our top models are just found by scouts while walking down the street, like Kate Moss! Rupert grint, evanna lynch and Emma Watson were not actors before harry potter either! Jason Statham was a model. But yeah school auditions or open auditions is a thing here. 😁

No One filming of the fourth movie started in 2004. The series ended in 2011. It would have taken them 8 years to film all of the remaining films.
