I think we can all agree that Kevin is a musical genius.
yeah I'd say he's really a Brian Wilson, a Paul McCartney, a Todd Rundgren, a David Bowie, of our generation. I appreciate him the most as a solo artist more than anyone probably. I remember the beginning in 2010 when I heard Innerspeaker in high school and now that album feels dated because of how much he has transformed.

@@berlyngrey9242 "their" XD. Anyways, currents, also it is a semi basic pick. Objectively it did the most for Kevin and it gave him a breakthrough to his sound while delivering a unique listening experience to the pop sound.

@@berlyngrey9242 there are a few things that hold lonerism back for me. Firstly, suns coming up is easily his worst song imo, but it does play a role for the album. Also, elephant is a good song, but is just so randomly placed onto the project. Also, be above it is not the best opener, especially when compared to let it happen

Not a month has passed since I heard Tame Impala live and they are already releasing new jewels, I want to hear them again, they give me years of life, greetings from Mexico! 🇲🇽🤩❤
I missed their set at Corona Capital last month. I grabbed tickets for their headlining concert with MGMT and Clairo as supporting acts, and pandemic screwed it up. Unluckily, I couldn't make it to Corona Capital this year (this is the first time I don't attend the festival).
Hopefully, they're coming back to town next summer, and maybe perform this new gem.

"Nice and short, there must be something more" and there is. Tame Impala on tour and heading my way. That's one reason for what I am living for
Kevin somehow taps into my subconscious with these lyrics where I am with my life now. So much on a deeper level than I thought that I think it's quite unsettling now. Maybe I was fated to set Tame Impala songs as my death timer. I've been on a roll with this idea ever since Innerspeaker and Lonerism came out I feel like I should just play all of his songs while going out to work, talking to my family, thinking about my failed prospects of love and marriage, and finally the pain of never understanding truly how to live. All at the same time while laughing at memes on the internet and working hard for a dream and a future for myself.

@@poivognome792 the flanger you hear is actually just part of the digital pro tools that controls the live mix. Nothing fancy, or anything like that. I actually first thought it was a BOSS flanger based on th way it sounds

@@poivognome792 I read that from someone on instagram. A user on there said it was controlled at the board where it could saturate the entire band like it does when activated. This actually made sense to me considering that Shiny Joe controls the board. From what I've seen Kevin doesn't activate the flanger, so I would think it would have to be Shiny Joe who does all of that, which is a choreographed routine in itself. He would have to know the songs, of course, and have his timing down when to activate and release. You could be right though. Or, it's also possible that the on-board flanger might have been something that was done for a little while, but then switched over to the Electro-Harmonix. I know he uses an Elextro-Harmonix phase pedal for his guitar
I meant to ask Kevin about that after running ink him and the rest of the band after a show in 2015. I spent about an hour with them shooting the shit talking about everything, really, on a downtown Pittsburgh city side Street. Very insightful for sure

@@chloeofvelvet In terms of Kevin I mean. When one compares Lonerism to The Slow Rush there's a major decline in terms of electric guitar. This one has two solos parts again which is nice.
kevin likes to confuse his listeners sometimes as to what instrument your listening to, theres a lot of songs on currents and the slow rush that will have some synths that you think are synths but there actually guitars, hes admitted to doing it. it might seem like guitars are rare in current day tame impala but just listen closely and theres atleast one guitar on almost every song. only songs i can think of on the slow rush that dont have a single guitar is instant destiny and glimmer the rest have one same with currents except on currents literally every song has atleast one. the thing about kevins music is that you can listen to his songs and always find a new sound in the background of the song you have never heard before because his music has many layers because he trys to create a wall of sound, this is very noticeable on innerspeaker and lonerism. just listen closely and you'll hear some guitars.
Definitely happy to hear some of the old fashioned skronky guitar solos, combined with a solid drum groove! Reminds me of an Isley Brothers feel.
