imagine spending your entire life just cursed by the thing that used to be a gift and now plagues you as you sit in a cramped metal capsule, alone floating in interstellar space with no way of communicating back to the KSC
The black hole ending was truly something to behold. At the very least it was entirely voluntary and didn't destroy a spaceship someone would spend around 6 hours designing and an additional 6 hours constructing in orbit. Bravo
I never thought that falling into a black hole would be so beautiful. After all those years cooped up in that command pod and enduring pure psychological torture, Sugar Kerman died in the most Kerbal way possible; falling into the event horizon of a black hole.
400 years of travel time on ion engines only is preaty impressive not gona lie , considering that Kcalbeloh is 2 kerbal light years away ( not mentioning correction burn to Efil )
@@v44n7Well, the Problem he had when trying to get to Efil was that the orbital inclination was Way too high, so If He Had gone straight to Efil he would have hitted the atmosphere at deadly speeds (Maybe going into the 50.000 m/s, who knows) since both the Ship and the star system where going at different directions. The stellar Gravity assist slowed the Ship down and sent it outside the sphere of influence (SOI) of the star and back to the SOI of the black Hole, however it was now orbiting the thing, then he corrected the orbit yet again to get another encounter with the star he just left, but this time the inclination was way better and the ship was going way slower. After that he just needed to wait to actually get to the star again and intercept the Efil while in a good angle (Otherwise he would end up going 20.000 m/s into the atmosphere as It happened in the first attempt), the encounter with the star took about 1000 years (Since the orbit around Kcalbeloh is absolutely massive). That's what i think it happened, english isn't My native language, so apologies If i messed a Word up.
That "its just blackhole but backwards" thing isn't just limited to the titular Kcalbeloh, a lot of the other bodies in that mod do the same thing. My favorite is the planet that is literally just naptha but backwards.
I realized that too, originally I was going to talk about it more in the video but I cut it out. Makes sense though, when I first got the mod I was like “did a monkey name these planets by banging his head on a keyboard?”
YEESSSSSS! Thank you for this video! I was so Hyped for a video like this! Thanks for it! Maybe in the future we could see a video on actually going to each of the planets, actually utlizeing FTL parts if it suits you!
The psychological horror skit with the Lethal Company music was actually pretty good. Imagine being forced to exist alone and completely without hope for centuries in the blank void of space, only to get dropped into a black hole, and even then, death won't claim you. Relativity pulls at time the further and faster you go. You hurtle towards the singularity, every moment of agony becoming an eon, every scream being stretched a billion years long. Eventually you lose all concept of being anything other than an infinite source of suffering, so embedded within the experience of the pain that you may as well be the source of it all. You'll outlast the universe and everything in it, unable to die, but incapable of ever again being considered alive. In the end, nothing can escape, not even light. Certainly not you.
Well told, but the physical processes of your thoughts would slow at the same rate as your aging. Eventually, you could look up and watch the pinwheeling of galaxies, the births and deaths of stars, the star-scattering, star-igniting cloud dances that are the collisions of galaxies. You'd enter and leave galactic clusters! You'd witness the births of galaxies! And you'd see it all... alone.
the only thing differentiating this from being a KSP recreation of Cygnus X-1 Book 1: The Voyage is that the spacecraft is called Delta Yeet rather than Rocinante
I did this too actually. I did a full colony ship with shuttles and everything. I also had opm installed. Yes, It was as much of a nightmare as you might imagine... 😢 plus I didn't use the kerbol slingshot, as I didn't know it was possible at the time. It took me over 6000 years 💀
I uh…. Got a HEFF dream. It happened. I think you were sending crew to… a… Dres? Somehow? I’m not even joking, somehow my sleepy brain came up with the line: “It’d be a shame if I sent them to a planet with one visual detail, and it’d be hard to drive a rover on…”
Now do a colony ship by constructing it in orbit and attaching thrusters in orbit to it. That would be really cool, try land on the habitable planet Use near-future but not warp drive if possible. Thanks
