I can def attest to the reputation of Target. Omg I did a quick stop at Walmart today and it was an instant regret!! & oh wow I didn’t know Target workers get 20% off healthy items, that’s pretty cool!
Target does have a better reputation than other stores. Management can make a difference of the work environment. I worked at Walmart when I was in college and it was a complete nightmare 😂
being able to be creative in any career is so important for creative types like us. I love that you have that freedom. I've only been in target one time in the last few years and I remember the employees really made the experience awesome. They were so helpful.
enjoy seeing all your target tiktoks so it's cool that you're breaking it down in a full length video! i feel like people who put labels on what counts as a "normal" job can be so judgmental, so love that you're bringing up all the benefits of your job especially the flexibility
Target workers are always nice and helpful whenever I do see them in the store. The job does seem pretty easy. Thanks for clarifying the ins and out at Target.
Sorry, don't watch TikTok. However, I did see this on RUclips, which I do like. My daughter started working for Target just out of college and so far she is happy. Thank you.
I worked there 10 years. I barely got 30hours a week.. left making 9.66 an hour. I did the exact same things a team leader did and the managers took total advantage of that… total insult… I now work a full time job.. making double what I did at Target… and I have benefits.

That was a beautiful rundown of target store. I live in a different country but love target from reviews here on RUclips. The prices are really affordable. Unlike other stores they're closed on special holidays enabling workers rest aswell. Lovely 😍
I love that you are still able to be creative with this job. I think that’s so important if you are on the creative track. I love that you work in the beauty section! How fun.
I love that it's possible to have an actual life working at Target. I worked at Giant for 5 years and I wouldn't recommend it, despite being able to have a life outside work.
I'm a big Target fan so it's nice to get this inside scoop. It's nice that Target gives you the freedom to take time off. You don't have that with many jobs.
I am currently working retail at a different company and I have the same schedule every single week, every single day, and I work between 39-40 hours a week. I get no time to live outside work, no time to even go to doctor appointments, very low pay, but I am stuck at this job because of the benefits-which cost me almost half of each paycheck-. I barely have time to either look for jobs or even go to interviews, and I am also hesitant to look at retail because of corporate culture in the US.
It must depend on the particular location. At my Target the majority of employees are unhappy. I think a lot of it has to do with leadership. And we do also get our share of weirdos.
As a Inbound Operations Team Lead with a mechanical engineering degree, there is something different about this place. I came from a long background as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, I had no work/life balance. I bargained a good wage in the mid 20’s. My wife owns a salon now and I don’t have to focus on chasing the high paying jobs.
I’m such a Target fan lol. I could live there’s. It’s cool to hear the experience of someone who works there. Everyone I’ve encounters there is very nice & helpful. They all seem to like working king there.
I’ve been working at target for 1 month so far. At first they didn’t tell me you don’t always get 40 hours which is what I want…so far I’ve been getting 40 hours but doesn’t sound like it lasts forever, second stable schedule also don’t sound guaranteed but so far my first month in I’ve had my schedule how I asked for it, it just sucks you can’t get everything you want, Walmart had bad management but full hours plus overtime and stable schedules but target has good management but poor hours.
Hi Kaitlin, what are your thoughts on pay? Do you have any input in this area? What is the starting salary? You said , target is flexible on schedules. Can you request not to work a certain day?
Loved your video and all the info you gave! Just curious, did you study abroad through ASU Online? I heard that’s the school you can apply through Target
I never worked for Walmart but I just started 2 weeks ago and Target is a vibe. Environment is night and day from Walmart, just by walking through the front doors.
Applied to Target & Walmart back in 2022 Target rejected me and Walmart took me, no longer working at Walmart. Wondering now that I have Walmart experience that Target will take me. Interested in doing drive up. I have curbside experience from Walmart
I think Target looks for availability for nights and weekends. The more you are available the better chances. I applied for ondemand but end up getting part time regular employee
Kaitlin is the type of SPOILED Target employee that got special treatment from managers while someone like me had to work my and (her) hours. I've never met her, but Kaitlin is the stereotypical Cali person who can't work ANY job if it goes over 8 hours.
What is your position? Also I just applied and got the job but I'm wondering if they let you move around. Like I applied for a cashier but I also want to do the personal shopper (online orders).
Can anyone tell me how the seasonal guest advocate (Cashier), General Merchandise, Fulfillment, front of store attendant (cart attendant), style, inbound (stocking ) is? That’s how they have it listed on indeed but i was wondering if these are the options you can choose from? Or is it saying that these are all the things you’ll be doing..? Im an introvert and I’ve been going back and forth on applying cause I don’t think I’d be okay at being a cashier.
Apply for food and beverage, you just go to the back rooms and stock stuff all day if you’re fine with hard labor. Me personally, I just started my 1st day as a cashier @Target and as an introvert I’m already mentally drained af. Everytime you see a guest come up, you’ll be like don’t come over here don’t come over here, and at a certain point force yourself to talk. Hell 2nd to last customer some lady tried using coupons that don’t even apply to Target and kept on insisting they do work which luckily a co-worker of mine had my back and talked to them for me, but imagine if I was a cashier alone without em, then I’d have to deal with people’s bs. Apply food and beverage, general merchandise, fulfillment, or drive up. Never even tried em but already sounds better than cashier for introverts. Think wisely cause this is just my personal experience.
What's not helpful is the target near me displays "we're hiring" yet they are only looking for weekend shifts. They should state that in their flyers

yeah its pretty cool! we actually already get 10% of all items so the 20% is additional, meaning on select items we can get up to 30% off!
