I worked at target. I went one day to get my check and the store manger saw me and said Hey you clocking in for your shift? I told him "No I Quit" and then I walked out.
There was a team member who was sent on her 15 (which is paid) and she walked out to get some food and never came back... that was a year and a half ago lol
Had an interview there last week. Red flags everywhere. They were gossiping about other employees. Break room was dirty. Said they would email me in 24 hours. Weeks went by. Nothing. Very unprofessional
They want someone that will be a puppet and follow orders and not question them. It’s a good thing they didn’t call back. I was going to apply there but I’m seeing so many red flags 🚩
@@ferjacob3814 They actually called me back and offered me the job almost a month and a half after the interview. I excepted the job and everything went well for the first week. I said I can’t pay my bills with only six hours a week. And she said do what you need to do. So I quit. They hire all of these new people and don’t give anyone hours
I quit Target primarily because of one particular team member who was always giving me and everyone else a hard time. She was a crabby older woman who was always trying to dictate how everyone else did their jobs, often to the point she was gossiping about everyone and berating team members in front of customers. Her behavior was the result of an incident some years earlier where her son was in a car accident which left him paralyzed. All the managers let her get away with her behavior because they felt sorry for her. Thus I left, along with several other team members
I can understand your frustration Mark. It's been a while since I've quit a job... my employers have to fire me. That way... I get unemployment. I work hard and then go home. When there's drama at work my mindset is... well you got me here for 8+ hours. You can talk me till your blue in the face. Employers can't frustrate me anymore.😂😂😂
I would do that for my main job. I don't know if I'd qualify if it's only part-time or if it's a second job. I've only filed for unemployment once. You have to have a very high income to be able to live off the unemployment. Mine was $310/week which was 1/3-1/2 my weekly pay before.
22:00 I used to work at target in 2014-2016 and I was at service desk, then I was promoted to GSA. let me tell you that it was the worst decision of my life to accept the position. I had to do basically all the same work that GSTL’s did for literally $1 more an hour. I was miserable. I should have just stayed at service desk. I ended up quitting and going to State Farm and loved it there. Worked there for 4 years until the pandemic started and I was let go. I unfortunately had to go back to target because my unemployment ran out and I’ve been there since sept 2021. I work at a “small format” target. It’s a very small store. I’m now in softlines/ style. I hate it. I applied to be a TL and was denied by my store director even though I have experience with the company. I was told by a co worker that the HR team lead didn’t like me and told the store director I wouldn’t be a good fit for the TL position. The new store I’m in is full of team leads that practice favoritism and gossip about team members and don’t appreciate the hard work we do. My team leader is terrible to me. She talks down to me and it’s degrading especially having supervisor experience, albeit it was years ago, she has a very nasty attitude and and always comes at me with so much animosity. Working there has been detrimental to my mental health. I’m always anxious and have to walk on eggshells with my TL. I’m in the process of looking for another job, possibly Delta. Target is a very toxic place to work at and I plan to let my store director know how I was treated and why I’m leaving. I just hope my complaints don’t fall on deaf ears.
Currently working at target and management is just awful. There is one specific manager that is difficult to work with and nothing is being done despite multiple people reporting her, we are constantly being pulled aside and reprimanded for really small petty shit, if you call out that specific manager makes sure to guilt trip you and on top of that you can't ask for help without being met with an attitude. When I first started working there I wasn't even trained and got in trouble multiple times for messing up when it was their own fault. Seriously fuck this job I am considering quitting myself.
I didn't really use the Target discount. It wasn't worth it at the time and with all the restrictions around how you can use it, there are far better discounts.

I worked at that awful company. Glad I’m out of there. They violate your rights as a worker, blatant discrimination, incompetence and corruption at every turn. When I worked there Smartphones didn’t exist yet, so it was my word against theirs.
I’m tired of target I worked last seasonal and let me tell ya guys, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I never got required breaks, and they asked me to stay later without even having my breaks. I was so angry with the management, almost wanted to walk out of the door. It was super busy, and they never had people. They literally only had two people closing while it was the busiest time of the year, how can you only have two people closing while it was seasonal. They were a bunch of teenagers as some managers running the front store, was just such a terrible experience. And I worked my butt off getting the most red cards at their store and I was getting acknowledgment throughout the entire store and I didn’t get to stay after seasonal. I’m so disappointed in Target and how they treat their employees. I reported the store for how they acted towards this. Very disrespectful on what they did to me in all of this bs.
I was with Target for 16. At first, it was nice working the flow team. But, suddenly all the TL's and store managers left for greener pastures. They would replace them and some of them were horrible. Glad I got out of there😊
Sounds like a poorly run store with nothing but idiots working there. I try to avoid working at places like that. But it's hard to tell someone's character through brief job interviews. You really dont know how they are until you actually work with them day by day.
I just want to say you are one of the hardest working people iv ever seen. 2 part time jobs and 1 full-time job. that would burn most people out in no time... any decent employer would count there blessings to have you on there team... full respect 👊👊
Depending on the department, you will be treated like a pack mule. And, yes, they don't work with your schedule, and as you said, they keep pushing it. The recent changes in TLs is also pathetic, barking orders over the radio.

I've enjoyed my seasonal experience at Target, but I agree wholeheartedly in regard to scheduling and ignoring our requests during the interview phase. I told them at my interview that on Mondays only, I can't work past 2 p.m. because I also worked as a Cable Operator for Government Access TV in a neighboring city. I was responsible for recording their City Council meetings live. The guy wrote it down and everything. Next thing you know, I was working from 12-6 p.m. on Mondays. 2 consecutive call offs at the other place automatically meant that they had to let me go. Also, management in other depts. were a-holes, especially when I was chosen to fill in and help out. They treated me as if I didn't belong. My own dept. (Electronics) was great, but Toys, Front End (Cashier), etc., screw them.
Oh my gosh that is horrible 11 dollars an hour and when I worked for target 2 years ago actually I actually was a style team member and believe was getting 14 an hour but I also noticed there was a lot of communication issues at that job also there was a day a team lead told me I was on the schedule and the schedule said I was off had to bring the schedule to the hr and team lead and tell them it was printed and that I wasn't on the schedule. I loved the job but ended up leaving because I had to move at the time.
I don't think I've ever worked a job in Ohio where there were minors so I don't have anything to compare it to. We definitely did not give 15 minute breaks in WV. I just think the ETL-HR insisting this was a state law showed she doesn't know what she's talking about and then my later dealings with her proved that.

I'm pretty sure mine is hinting at letting me go. I only work 4hrs on Saturday. Not a lot but I really do need the extra $200 as a parent. But I guess it's an issue because they want us all cross trained. Lol after 6yrs now they want to cross train me after I was overlooked constantly. @@Pandaluver67899 My store remodeled while I was working there. I think we just had one of those shelving units. It was at the corner of womens by the SCOs.
I worked at target. I went one day to get my check and the store manger saw me and said Hey you clocking in for your shift? I told him "No I Quit" and then I walked out.
best way to tell them
There was a team member who was sent on her 15 (which is paid) and she walked out to get some food and never came back... that was a year and a half ago lol
I loved it! 😆😆😆😆 funny 😄 way to go👍
4 jobs? You’re a trooper
I never had a bad experience if anything I had a great experience
Had an interview there last week. Red flags everywhere. They were gossiping about other employees. Break room was dirty. Said they would email me in 24 hours. Weeks went by. Nothing. Very unprofessional
They want someone that will be a puppet and follow orders and not question them. It’s a good thing they didn’t call back. I was going to apply there but I’m seeing so many red flags 🚩
@@ferjacob3814 They actually called me back and offered me the job almost a month and a half after the interview. I excepted the job and everything went well for the first week. I was supposed to get 20 hours. And then I noticed on my schedule I only had six hours a week I asked my boss about it and she said that was going to be my new schedule.
This sounds like the woman i currently work with…bad attitude 😢
“Call off but, f**k you” lmao
I couldn’t last past orientation at target smh
I had to quit, it seemed very unprofessional to me.
@@TheMarkGoudy yeah man I remember filing for unemployment. You'll get something soon man.🙏🏾
22:00 I used to work at target in 2014-2016 and I was at service desk, then I was promoted to GSA. let me tell you that it was the worst decision of my life to accept the position.
It's low level retail bs, you don't matter. when you get a real professional corporate job, none of this happens.
That is by far not true.
@@TheMarkGoudy probably, just my experience. I worked in retail for some years but then when I got into career level jobs, i didnt experience that stuff anymore. Interviews are different, relationships and over all day to day. It doesn't make it ok, but why people just dont have common courtesy, smh.
I wanna quit so bad.
Paige P DO IT!!! I’m leaving and I haven’t felt happier, all of the veterans who have been around since before modernization are leaving, me included, and everyone is happier and have better paying jobs, and aren’t dealing with inconsistent paychecks... there are people who went to Dillard’s and CVS and they say “there’s some BS here but it’s NOTHING compared to target”
I agree right now I work in consumables at target and i work my ass off every day and have never complained but never have gotten a compliment once before. It makes me so frustrated. I never learned anything I needed from training and always get told what I do wrong.
7 interviews?! I dont think CEO's have that many interviews. That's crazy
It was ridiculous. And this was only phone interviews. I didn't even get to the point of having one in person.

Obama minimum wage equiled less money to all employees ....less hours . 15 dph @ 10 hours per week do the math I quite..2017
I WORKED FOR TARGET FOR 13 YEARS CAUSE IT WAS CONVENIENT AND I'LL TELL YOU IT WAS THE WORST PLACE TO WORK.
I was with Target for 16. At first, it was nice working the flow team. But, suddenly all the TL's and store managers left for greener pastures. They would replace them
and some of them were horrible.
I got yelled at once for asking something over the radio so I just refused to ever use it again.
@@TheMarkGoudy I gave two weeks notice at the end of December. They wouldn't work with my availability, and the leadership was extremely poor and played favorites.

Thegodsmustbecrazy It’s like, they tell us guests are out number one priority, yet they forget guests exist while I’m trying to put my freight out, and people either are in the way, or there are days where it’s non stop asking questions. And they get mad at me when it’s been two hours and I haven’t finished 2 uboats and my other stuff in that time
Hate when people say you're overthinking or nitpicking little things but with several red flags you have to be observant for yourself - or you get burned later down the road lol. Case in point.
Been working here since November. The short term is great as they treat you like a person but once you reach the 6 month mark it makes a complete 180. They treat you like shit, expect you to do more work than possible, etc.. also the only way you can move up is to kiss ass to your team leads and executive team leads
It only took them a month for them to do that to me, but that was because the holidays were starting and shit was going down by then. It made me feel like I never did anything right or fast enough when it was literally impossible.

Every job I've ever had has made me like throughly explain why I couldn't come in for a shift. I've been like genuinely very ill and tried to call off for a shift and straight up been told no
I guess I've never really called in sick. It's a cultural thing. In WV if you call off sick, you're going to be punished for it. You go to work no matter how sick you are. So I've gone to work with pneumonia. It wasn't until I came to Ohio that people started being concerned with me getting THEM sick. I guess my expectations were too high.

I have Fulltime job from Monday to Friday so I will be working only for weekends. They might kept for longer because they already know I am not Relying on this weekends Job only. Personally I think when any employer know that their job offer is all you have then they take an advantage of you.

I work at the warehouse for Target and they treat us like numbers as well. Its all about their bonuses. I was put on a corrective action during the beginning of the pandemic for being sick for more than 4 days, not in row, just in a 90 day period. And after my husband passed away this year, I was put on a final which means I can get fired for absolutely anything. That's how much the company cares for its employees... 0%

How can you have three jobs? I can barely keep one up .. maybe it depends on the position..
Target is a direct competitor to Whole Foods? Really? I don’t see how, they’re quite different.
Very immature managers
Ohio only enforces breaks for minors, as an adult they can literally be like nOPE
I don't think I've ever worked a job in Ohio where there were minors so I don't have anything to compare it to. We definitely did not give 15 minute breaks in WV. I just think the ETL-HR insisting this was a state law showed she doesn't know what she's talking about and then my later dealings with her proved that.
MarkGoudy I got yelled at tonight at work because I didn’t finish zoning all grocery isles by myself and had to take my 2 15’s and she said I wasn’t fit to work I’m grocery anymore.
