Dude i just made a character based around the blind fighting style.
      7lvl Eldritch knight fighter, and
13lvls Phantom Rouge. Race half elf, name Fog, background deserted soldier. He was once protected by a mysterious fog that is actually the ghosts of his fallen comrades an it has kinda followed him ever since. He drops fog cloud and Darkness then sneak attacks like crazy. He also has devil sight to.

It would be fun to have a blind beggar in town. If the player characters bully the beggar they make a powerful enemy. If they are kind to the beggar they make a powerful friend.

    • @BlitzkriegBryce
      @BlitzkriegBryce 3 года назад +2

It would be neat if he would show up randomly in combat around the town and outskirts (once per combat). Sort of like the mysterious stranger in Fallout, depending on how you treated him it could be beneficial/detrimental or, if ignored, he doesn’t show up at all. Something like a stab and disappear or causing an attack that would miss to hit.

I had made a blind character but I never got to play as him.
He is blind because he is a big ol perv and accidentally peaked at a bathing nymph and instantly went blind.
But if you ask him if it was worth it.
"Of course it was worth it! Don't ask me stupid questions!"

Warlock/wizard multiclass. Pact of the tomb. Sold your sight to the "deity" of your village, which happened to be a high-ranking demon, in return for magic knowledge. Take find familiar, and use your helper, and your gifted knowledge, to study magic elsewhere. Your pact tomb can be a wizard spellbook, or you can just have a bunch of spellbooks lying around. At level 5, warlock1/wizard4, pick up fighting style, blind fighting from feats, and have access to some limited eyesight just in case your familiar gets roasted in combat.

An interesting build i love the idea of including rougue as an element the idea of a blind master of locks as a standalone concept is nice.
It also brings to mind a blind artificer, could work with any but particulay the alchemist seems most fun for the theme as you get to watch the blind person handle there equipment to create things much better than almost anyone else...maybe go all fmacy bartender moves as well for show.

Speaking of echo knight, I like the idea of an echo knight fighter/wizard combo, having just enough levels of wizard to cast simulacrum, and since your simulacrum has the same abilities as you, you and your simulacrum can both create an echo, and then their are four of you. You have officially unlocked shadow clone jutsu.

It makes for some challenges for sure but even though he's not built as optimally as your build I love him and it makes for some amazing moments in our games. Once even rolling disadvantage he rolled a 19 and 20 in an archery contest and won beating out our fighter and gunslinger.

Having recently watched Blind Fury, with Rutger Hauer, the best way to make an effective blind adventurer would be to give them Blindsight, and thanks to the Blind Fighting style, one can get a 10 foot version of it. All one needs is to be proficient in a Martial weapon, take the Fighting Initiate Feat and take it. After that, snag Dueling or something for melee weapons, as realistically, blind people would be at a disadvantage with ranged attacks - I mean, the Cyclops has Poor Depth Perception - disadvantage on an attack roll against a target 30+ feet away.

"Way of Shadow" Monk + Fighting Initiate: Blind Fighting. Short of boss-level characters with blindsight or truesight and non-DEX AoE effects, you don't have much to worry about in a typical fight. You're basically unassailable as long as Darkness is up. You could hold a narrow corridor all by yourself against a large group of opponents without much trouble while your party focuses their efforts elsewhere.

All very good spells for this build I think and you can do a LOT with Ki points. Of course, the Rogue would give you sneak attack, but you kind of have to screw over the rest of the party to gain advantage from Darkness or Fog Cloud, but with stunning strike it turns into an advantage for the whole party.

For instance, why not a divination wizard instead? Still have shield to get a +5 to our AC, and we gain the ability to gurantee certain rolls which helps with our blindness and against others who may be able to percieve us better than we can them?

How does the blind wizard read their spells?

You can write your spells in any way you want, maybe they just make very Thick Symbols on the pages, and "read" with their fingers

A blind player that uses a familiar to see would benefit more by having them fly above the party so they could see the battlefield from above

hey while watching this i thought of a crazy idea any you dudes know if it is possible for official play like AL my idea is to make a crawling claw familiar out of the hand of a mind flayer thrall with medium flensing claws 1d10 slahing dmg then fuse the wrist of the claw to a rapier like a stinger and have a crawling claw sword just like in Jujutsu Kaisen then I want to add Eldritch Claw Tattoo, barrier tattoo large, and Ghost Step Tattoo to the claw so it can have 18 ac, reach, magic attack, and resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical attacks. i want a blind murder claw

that would not be allowed in AL. at this point you are not allowed fimiliars that are not in the list from the spell unless you are a Chainlok then you get the Warlock four added, you have a Special Cert from the Wizards AL Admin, or DMed during the active season where they allowed special Fimiliars. (Ex. Season 8 had a gazer, 9 had tressem, 2 Imps that lose shape change one gets a dementional pocket that holds up to 10 lbs and the other has a single use per day 1d6 bardic inspiration, a lawful Evil Pseudodrsgon that also knows infernal, or an abyssal chicken.

I have always thought about playing a character like Toph from Avatar the Last Airbender. Blind daughter of an INCREDIBLY wealthy family, everyone thinks she's a helpless little girl but actually she is the greatest earthbender of all times. She can perceive the world around her through the vibrations in the ground.

This works in Elder Scrolls. Perhaps I am a Moth Priest. Change the background to Scholar or Sage. Now maybe I read an Elder Scroll and went blind. Aside from that I would keep everything the same.

Please don't think unrespectful but in reality blind people who have been blind for years do know how to get around the fact that they are blind so d&d should have taken that into consideration before going oh your character is blind so nothing but natural 1s for you. And they get around being blind with out magic so magic should not be the end all be all.

Like the build. Though even with blind fighting doesn't actually mean that you are actually blind so you could technically still see as normal RaW

@@corywilkinson5172 nope we start with a vanilla human fighter. Alert feat + blind fighting fighting style makes you a viable character at level 1. Probably my favorite part of the build. Also no need to apologize.

I would imagine playing a blind character would be as cool as building a paraplegic character with a battle wheelchair. Very, but people will bitch about it.

Get to the point, I get you making it over 10 minutes because you don't care and just want the money. But for the love of god if you don't have anything to say stop repeating yourself trying to hit the 20 min mark.
