Benny's Custom Works brings you everything automotive!
Weekly Episodes right here on RUclips, as well as the shop with new & used performance parts for most Japanese makes and models.
Benny makes this stuff look like a walk in the park. Please consider the risk factors and talk to a qualified mechanic, as well as a psychologist, if you’re thinking of attempting anything you’ve seen on the show.
Take into consideration your safety, the safety of others, as well as your vehicle’s best interests- warranty, etc.
Unless you’re trained & qualified to do so, we don’t recommend modifying your vehicle in any way. Stickers don’t add HP unless installed correctly.
been watching since day one. Best thing you did was bring Gian in with his questions. I have learned a heap from listening to the banter. As a side note I named my dog after you.
@@markwisdom383 that’s ruff.
Gian is a big part of the channel. His questions might seem dumb but there's a lot of people who have learnt a lot through the months and years you guys have been together.
thank you for what you do benny and gian. love watching you.
Love watching the wet pan stuff. Wish there was more of those kind of events with multiple cars on track in Brisbane
I’m learning a huge amount from your experience through the chats and banter x
One of the things I really appreciate about your videos and the reason I subscribed to patrion to give something back, is the knowledge you impart. Have learned heaps from this channel as well as TSF, MCM and a bunch more.
Happy to be Benny's apprentice
😄👌
The longer the episodes the better
@@TankyMcStagger thanks for constantly supporting! It’s greatly appreciated
@@BennysCustomWorks you coming to MotorEx this year?
@ we aren’t locked in as yet but I haven’t ruled it out either
@@BennysCustomWorks be cool to say hi if you do.
And to answer your questions, as much as I love my EF XR6, 90s JDM is my favourite era. Before I bought the Falcon I nearly bought a 180SX but the insurance was going to be too expensive. R32 GTRs have been a dream car since Gran Turismo 2 came out but they're drug money now so I bought a 91, 1UZ Soarer 3 years ago and have been modifying it ever since. Im entered in MotorEx on the Saturday, hopefully it'll be twin turbo by then but not sure I'll have the time to pull it off.
The build started as me wanting a 10sec street car but now it's going to be a 1000hp beast. Scope creep is real. Even though I'm building it to run 10s and for roll racing, it has all the suspension upgrades I can run it around a circuit too. Which is my favourite type of motor sport. Massive V8 Supercars fan.
Restomods are the best. So many cool old platforms that can remain on the roads using excellent drivelines and updated suspension/brakes/chassis as you said. New stuff sucks (99%) balls so seeing refreshed, cool old stuff preserved makes me happy.
I like you’re dynamics together, I have grown into it.
Keep up the good work.
your*
1 hour 20. Nailed what I love tuning into. No stupid questions, asked and answered to one degree or other. That’s kept me tuned in ❤
Didn't realise until now but I really do appreciate Benny's first year chats because even though I've been working on cars and that sort of thing for the last 25 years too, it's not my profession so sometimes I too have questions that I would have to put in the comments that John just asks and it helps everybody. Thanks for all your brilliant content. Love living the Motorsports experience. Vicariously
Same here.
Not mechanic, but been tinkering for 20 years. And I am learning from all the questions.
Been watching ever since the channel started and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work!
I’d never actually thought about the pleasure of imparting knowledge via RUclips but it is pretty cool that Benny gets to fill that need for want of a better term.
Great work guys and looking forward to what the year brings.
Loved the QnA. Great that it's all come together and you have some awesome plans for '25
I love hearing Gian talk! I’m just waiting for those 10 hour loops.
My shirt did indeed arrive in Canada before this episode aired. Canada Post workers were on strike before Christmas, so I knew it would take a while. Thanks again for the personal message letting me know about the delay! I have all of the Cresta shirts and have followed BCW since the beginning after first seeing you with MCM. The automotive community worldwide is pretty awesome. Mike Finnegan noticed me wearing the Cresta shirt at SEMA and gave me the thumbs up! It's crazy to think that a guy from Australia, a guy from Canada, and a guy from the USA can all have something in common. Looking forward to everything you have planned in the coming year! My favourite cars have always been vintage Japanese cars. I have owned several Datsun 240z with various engines and had a pretty nice R32 GTR as well. I like circuit track days and auto-x.
@@MitchGuindon that’s mad.
Thanks for your support mate !!
Fav car era- 60's/70's/80's mainly. Drive types- Hill climb, Rally, Road course racing, Drag.
Cars, 65 HD Holden for cruising and IS200 for daily and hill climb/ track days. Great Chanel love watching. 👍
Gian is all of us, and all of us are Gian 😁
You've got a good thing going, excited to see what 2025 brings!
The part out video is a really good idea!
One hour & ninteen minutes in, one of the things I like about Gian being more involved with the more relaxed video's is that he has essentially become your apprentice Benny. I've always enjoyed the video's regardless, just like the newer format more somehow. Cheers.
1:20:30 nail on head, Gian vocalizes what the viewer is asking.
Really interesting and well overdue I think. I actually enjoy long video's as long as it's interesting. This was great. Also, you still had the Valvoline logo at the end of the video. Keep it up guys.
Appreciate G’s questions during the episodes.
This was awesome! been watching since the beginning! always loved MCM and then when BCW and skid factory came, it was just happy days!! such good car content.
Great stuff, Gian and Benny! Looking forward to the new projects and the mystery JDM car!
Thanks for answering my question legends. Looking forward to watching your projects in 2025.
Everybody seems to go to sundays. I personally like it spread out during the week, because it helps me get through the week. 👍
Really great vid guys. Appreciate.
My favourite cars and era are definitely late 80s to early 2000s JDM. They were at their peak then for sure. Cars like Honda NSX, FD RX7 and even Z32 300ZX have aged incredibly well.
Any sort of motor sports and I'm there, but for me is Rally with the Subaru 555, Evo's and Celica GT3. But we can't forget the Monster of Group B. Natural Evolution of a Channel is enviable, looking forwards to the changes and cars.
55:13 I love this mechanic logic. Stateside I have looked at JDM vehicles in the past for a potential purchase but then I always consider the maintenance parts. Can I get accessories and even a whole engine reasonably domestically. My friend has a 97 Delica turbo diesel and it needed a water pump. I think he was able to source one from an 80 Dodge import/rebadged D50. Cheers!
Rally 👍 never was much on drag racing until watching you Aussies. 😊
And then Valvoline placement at the end of the episode!
Yep… editing whoopsie.
Rally content! Now you’re talking, a rally build like a nice GC8 would be awesome!
I've been following for years. I'm still very grateful to you for selling me one of your orig hoodies in the Cowes Coles carpark post subinats. Still going strong all these years later.
Noah air bagged, AWD and turbo sounds awesome.
Quirky cars are my favourites usually pre 80s shapes but anything driveline swapped. Street/ circuit/ rally. Design me the cheapest do it you can think of.
love this
Been here since the start(ish). I’m all in on restomods
hahaha "first fight"
"na"
As for cars, I like 60's-90's cars - I think that spread gives the best looking cars.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video - looking forwards to another banter filled, shed-ly year.
Hey fellas, love the channel, proud Patreon and reckon it's a bargain for what we get re content. Reference to length of content, for me personally, I love the longer form vids (even it it doesn't work wit the RUclips algorithms). I like something I can sit back and sink my teeth into rather than some five-minute thing. Keep it up.
Would be super keen to see the parting out process
Favorite drive is WRC/Rallycross. Favorite era of cars is 80's and all over the map as far as brands and such.
a general tip, on the shorts. uncheck the option to sendit it out to the subscribers. if/when the subs dont look at it or have sen it, it will fall off the algorithm and fall into the void. wwith it not in the sub mode, it will get more engagement on a longer time scale and attract new people.
good luck on the new year lads
Benny spilling the beans.......
I like all kinds of cars. I have vintage watercooled VWs and I'm a street driver. I have California Hwy 1 (coastal highway) north of San Francisco in my backyard to play on. It was definitely way less crowded 20 years ago.
Would be hilarious if Gian opened the next episode. " Welcome to Gian's Custom Works. " 😂😂
Loved the Q&A boys.
My guess for the LS's new home is a camaro.
Opel Monza
Do it!
was good to hear gian's story i didn't know he was with the MCM guys and with you all together from way back! 👌
Cars: 80's and 90's Car's + Aussie Made + 70's Japanese + American Muscle
Racing: Circuit/Track/Rally
Love the yours and Gian's work. Have been a subscriber for the last few years. Regarding cars, still kicking myself I sold my 1600 for 1k a long time ago, loved them through rallying here in the ACT, used to co-drive. As an aside, love playing golf too, so if your ever in the Nations Capital I'd be stoked to have a hit at my local course.
I’ll buy you that beverage benny, glad my question was read out.
i always felt that the IS would (had it not been a stat write off, if memory serves me) have made an EPIC road car!
and Mitsubishi Nimbus here was the Space Wagon
I could be wrong, but i THINK the Ranger raptor is basically the same engine as the Mustang GT
Ranger raptor is the same base engine as F150 ecoboost
80’s VW/Audi/Porsche. I still have my ‘89 944. Also have a ‘55 Healey. 50’s are cool, too. Many Audis. 😊
Gian narrating the audience is a good dynamic. I also love the special guests. The real question is, is Isaac as charismatic as Tedman was? Japanese mid 00's are the pinnacle, like the 4th gen Liberty.
Just a couple of legends having a chat with us 👌 top stuff guys
Favourite cars.
95-2005 JDM
66-72 US muscle
And now they’re no longer produced any locally produced muscle(HSV, FPV etc) special mention to the FG GT mk2 with the Harrop SC coyote assembled at the FPV plant.
Euro cars and muscle cars from the 60s, Kei cars from the 70s and 80s are all cool. Would love to do a LJ50 soft top Restomod, or a Honda s600, etc. So many cool options.
So ready for the bloopers episode.
Keen for more cars and coffee content! What's the chance of a Benny golf episode?
I think we’d kill the channel with a golf ep…. I guess we could try
@BennysCustomWorks second channel?
@ possibly :)
Great work guys, keen to watch your 2025. Something you said that resonated with me is the time editing takes. I’ve only just started my channel and as basic as mine is the editing time has been a massive shock. It’s a new found appreciation I have for RUclips channels.
Thanks for answering my question about the Fioris, unfortunately I won’t be able to own any ever again as I have 3 kiddos now, but cool to know you’d still like to dabble 👌🏻
Don’t worry Gian I got the Parkway Drive reference 😂
Bring on Gian changing the clutch.
Fav era - all of it? Anything is pretty awesome, and seeing different styles/eras gives different perspective and ideas.
Driving style - 4x4/street, but that's mostly because Canada/snow, and anything else will sit for 6 months.
EDIT. Part out is a no brainer if you have the space/time, and a massive deal if you are on the other side of it picking up someone's project. I'm surprised you only undervalued the IS by $10K
Valvoline are still in the outro FYI!
I can't wait to see the progress of the car that you found in your car park!
Keen for more on the mg metro one day!
Sold that too…. I’ll get something A series again one day
I like the skid pan videos.
I don't have a favourite era because honestly it's too diverse
My realistic goal car would be a gr/gt86
I prefer hill climb racing because that's what's local to me
For bikes though 90s and early 2000s bikes are unmatched but I'm sure that's just an age thing
Thanks for making videos
It's always nice seeing you at cars and coffee
Love the Q & A. 2025 sounds interesting. Love golf words too. Thought: Bryson DeChambeau is the Einstein of golf?
I dont care much for 4x4 stuff but ill still watch it. Having said that; on the Paj, surely there's a fun colab there with MCM guys if all are keen. I'm even thinking your and their kei 4x4s, RAM 4x4, their Amarok or Hilux
It was long, but for sure a very nice video.
Honestly speaking, I used to be big on JDM cars but euro cars post 2000s and pre 2018s have been great. V10 4dr sedans, diesels of many flavors, cheap manual cars, small trucks.
I vote for G to do his clutch on axle stands without impacts for the whole apprentice experience. Let the man lay on his back and learn how to use his fingers for purposes that he didn't know was possible
Keep up the great work. :)
Madd episode. 😊
Ex Concrete cutter 25yrs benny so I understand your state about people as some are just painful to deal with.
Wicked chat,thanks boys
My guess for GM project... Camira! 🤣
Nice chat. Thanks.
'94 - '99 Toyotas (6th gen Celica specifically) & then kinda anything until 2010ish because that's when technology happened. Also a Mopar fan. Rally (the Dakar!!) is probably my favorite motorsport in terms of entertainment.
See you at calder on the 15th benny. Be sweet to see the ute doing its thing at high speed. Cheers bro
Benny, Gian AND a little golf talk? yes.
Great banter between you two gents, as for being an apprentice, I would be that apprentice that strips or snaps bolts and melts wiring harnesses. My mechanical aptitude involves opening up my wallet to pay a professional
80s 90s cars but really want a e series falcon and I have a 4x4
Love my 7 sec shirt. Didn't get notified it was sent and received thanks to auspost but I got it in the end. Good size too.
Favourite cars? Oddball euro. Not bmw, audi, vw etc
@@Low760 brazilian spec VW’s from the 70’s
@BennysCustomWorks still vw. But Volvo, Saab, MG's, triumphs. Yep. Eventually my 740t with a 16v head and 3582r will do 12s at drag challenge!
Opel Monza?
I'm currently putting together my Mazda 6 mps to go and learn actual track driving which it should be finally done this year after owning the car since 2021 so that sorta answered both questions however do prefer 90's Japanese makes and models
Love a panel van
Late 80s early 90s toyotas and nissans both audm and jdm
Would be good to see the falcons doing some dirt track/rally style events.
Build a tiny Drag Challenge trailer as a give away as my 5x7 caged canvas trailer is way to big for my C32 AMG to tow.
I'd like to win a haltech ecu with a plug n play adaptor for jzx100 chaser since I'll have to upgrade the ecu at some point for sure. soo I'll be looking forward on the future giveaways. I'm a car guy at heart so I like lots of different cars but closest to my heart is for sure 90's JDM cars and now I'm lucky to own one of the cars from that era.
I think it would be a good idea to build a vehicle in the states for the states events
It’ll cost $100k ( $60k USD) to be decent . Plus new / unknown chassis is always hit and miss.
Bring back cranky Benny
That question at 55:00 about the pickup choice... and here I thought you were just secretly a Mopar guy at heart. I mean you picked the most iconic american "this machine wants to murder you" car ever made and it just so happens to be the set piece for the episode. Then there is that little tan/brown chrysler (sigma i think? i suck with crossover names) import you keep tinkering with, super cute car btw!
lol did you mean the Valvoline logo in the closing credits 😂
Low standards X BCW build collab on a kei car would be sick!!!
I knew I met giarn I use to be a welder 😉😉 he was my fire watcher 🤣🤣
Re: Gian mechanic episode-
The most entertaining video on skid factory was Al following woody around while he was working on the MR2
Absolutely. We need Benny asking all the questions for that one.
Britain’s B roads. Affordable, just look out for farm vehicles!
"gonna turbo it one day"
