    "soft goods are not my strongest suit" says the man who's just sewn that whole thing without using pins, and nailed that topstitching beautifully. I can sew decently well, and even I end up with stray pins everywhere.

    Great video man. I've watched all your Mandalorian build starting with the helmet. As a fan of youtube makers (colinfurze, Hacksmith, odinmakes), I can tell that your outputs are one of the best that I have seen, though the video quality and editing can be improved more. The earlier videos are too long to watch, you can change with vlog - timelapse - vlog format. I think that updating the audience in what's currently happening in the build is more effective than timelapse video with voice over. With that kind of content I can see that your channel will grow faster this year.

    Awesome! Really well done! I would love the helmet and armour made out of steel! When you say you’re not good with soft stuff, I don’t think that’s accurate! You seem very good with it! Look forward to the finished suit.

  • @YankiRides

    Curious as to the weight of the flak, now that plates and hardware are mounted to it. my issue with my own costuming has always been the disconnect between how heavy something looks and is, so I imagine with a little weight to it... you start feeling like a Mando, not just look it.

    • @theweldinggeek
      @theweldinggeek  4 года назад +1

  • @freitagder1321
    @freitagder1321 4 года назад

    I tried the shirt technique and it did not go well at all for me, but with of what I’m guessing is the style that I chose is where everything is held together by these big flaps in the back so it kind of causes everything to be a size to big, I have had to cut of about an inch off of the replica now, if you ever come across of a tutorial on this that says, you need to use a good fitting shirt. Do what they say or just find one, because I didn’t do that and I regretted it

    I work in TV, so I'd like to suggest that you save the reveal for the end of the video, not in your cold open. It kind of spoils it when you put it at the beginning.

    • @coreyharmon6999
      @coreyharmon6999 4 года назад

      Well, this isn't TV. Lol. I personally prefer to see the final product in the cold open so that I know whether or not the video is even worth watching. I love all of the things @theweldinggeek makes, but I had to crawl through a lot of crap to get here - watching long videos for something that wasn't even good in the end.
