正義と市民を守るために、凶悪な「NINJA」に挑む2人の男の物語。操作は8方向レバーと攻撃、ジャンプの2ボタンで行う。2つのボタンの組み合わせで回転キックが可能。これといった特徴のない普通の格闘アクションゲームだが、攻撃ボタンを押し続けることで、貫通力のある気合パンチを放つことができる。ナイフ、ヌンチャクなどの攻撃アイテムや、ポカリスウェット似の体力回復が登場する。ちなみにステージ1のボスはあの「カルノフ」である。全7ステージ。
ストーリー:
19XX年、凶悪の嵐が吹き荒れる大都会に、新たな力が誕生した･･････。正義を守るために、市民を守るために、凶悪な"NINJA"の力を打ち破り、彼らは進む･･････。立ち上がれ！打ち破れ！！怒りの鉄拳にすべてを賭けろ！

Dragonninja is a 1- or 2-player sideways scrolling platform beat'em up featuring the 'Bad Dudes', two government agents who must fight against the Dragon Ninja and his minions in order to save the President of the USA - at this time, Ronald Reagan. At the end of each level, players must defeat end-of-level bosses, one of which is Karnov himself.

Dragonninja was released in April 1988 in Japan.
This game is known in US as "Bad Dudes vs. Dragonninja".
'Bad Dudes' acquired something of a cult status, due in no small part to its tongue-in-cheek humour; such as the game's introduction by a Secret Service agent informing the player that 'President Ronnie has been kidnapped by the Ninjas. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue Ronnie?' After saving the President, Reagan appears in the Oval Office and delivers the line : 'Hey Dudes Thanks, for rescuing me, let's go for a burger...'.
The game includes a cameo appearance by "Karnov" (a hero in his own Data East game), who oddly enough, appears as an enemy boss rather than the good guy this time around!
The trucks on the second stage say 'Kikuchi Co., Ltd'. Kikuchi Co is a real company established on November 1953 in Japan. It manufactures and sells automobile body frame components and it is affiliated to Honda.
Polystar / Datam released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Deco History Scene I : Data East Game Music Scene One - H25X-20008) on September 25, 1988.

My uncle used to had an arcade parlor and he had the Japanese version but the voices were in English

The real question is whether they got BBQ double bacon cheeseburgers with extra sauce. It's a question that has always haunted me.
@@ErwinSchrodinger64 well they are Dragon Ninjas, so there was no Bacon involved within their Mos Burger. But the Spicy Soy Sauce was good tho.
But they weren't bad enough dudes to beat him up themselves for turning the US into an oligarchy.

@@ErwinSchrodinger64 Mos Burger is (or was since it been 20 years since I been to Japan), a small off shoot of America's McD's or BK.
And as I now remember it, it was more of a spicy Teriyaki sauce, however Kikkoman did make a spicy Soy sauce as well.
We had once just outside of our base in Yokosuka. I prefer that over the brand Chain anyday.

When u jump just hold on jump button and press attack....you will get your spinning kick

Also, I find it funny how many pro wrestlers inspire boss characters in video games. This boss of that Forest Level is clearly based on Hawk or Animal from the Road Warriors in WWE/WCW. Just like how Final Fight based Andore on Andre The Giant, or when Streets Of Rage literally had a boss based on The Ultimate Warrior.
Well, the forest level boss is actually called Animal, so he is clearly based on The Road Warrior

Another example of the very fierce competitive spirit of companies around those times, the 80s and 90s... A level that the newer generations would call "toxic" or something like that.

@1:10 karnov bar spotted in background, then you fight a guy who looks like karnov with turkish music in background!
That is actually Karnov you know. Data East produced Karnov, and put him in this game as a promotion of the Karnov arcade and NES games. Karnov also made an appearance in a later SF2-style fighting game, although the title escapes me.
Let us also not forget that Shantae might be related to him as well.

The voices are so much less annoying in this version, but it wouldn't have been a success in The States, or anywhere else, if you didn't hear "I'm bad!" after every stage won.

Is rare, in other versión of the game the sound of bad dudes are change like the scream when defeat the bosses, the sound when charge and release the fire punch AND the fliying kick
