  • After two years of building this bike, we finally take it out for a rip. It still needs some further tuning, but it is an absolute blast. Thank you to everyone for your continued support!

Nice. We never got a CL175 here in the UK, but we did get the CD175 (sloper, single carb, pressed steel spine frame, no frame loop) at the same time. Tiny and light, they went very well on a single carb. Later we got the CB175/CD175 (vertical cylinders). Engine internals were compatible throughout and you could mix and match. I built a mongrel CD175 in the early 80s recession out of used parts (cheap) with twin carb CB175 head and bits of CB 175 and 200 that was surprisingly quick and did over 50K miles (ran when sold). I learned a lot. What you have done is another level. Thanks for posting.

A supercharged small displacement motorcycle is a great idea. What do the manufacturers give us? A supercharged 1000cc. Doh!

Awesome! Love the build, some ideas for your crank signal loss
Check your wire routing, if those things go near the coil or leads, can have signal errors, also make sure that you are running resistor spark plugs and caps to limit EMF noise as well.

Put some street tires on it to get a proper tune. Michelin pilots or something like that. When someone suggested that to Kaplan America and he did it, they were able to squeeze an extra 6 hp out of the bike.

    Wonderfull!!
Matt Cramer once advised putting a resistor between the + and - lead between the cranksensor and the MicroSquirt.
It helped my build to go beyond 4000 rpm. (140 ohm)
But: my build had a VR cranksensor and yours a Hall sensor.
    Anyway: you'll manage this!

Hey, I love Your project, I love anything with supercharger that's what makes me Your subscriber 😂 even better with custom EFI 😍 totaly love it. I'm from speeduino world (my project is small 800kg 3cyl car on speeduino with boost coming soon) and I can tell You from what I have seen and heard that electronic noise is big problem with reading sensors correctly, even worse if You use VR sensor not HALL sensor, try to isolate this sensor wires as best as possible, shielded cable whould be nice. Allso use spark plugs with resistors and carbon spark wires (they have resistance as well) I think that stock spark plugs and wires didn't feature any resistance so it makes huge "noise" while runing due to high current spikes. Allso check ECU supply voltage, it may drop at high load (longer injector durations/ ignition dwell + frequency) You may need increase wire gauge 😂 (mainly ground, positive voltage in ECU has very low current going compared to GND). Last thing that comes to my mind is software, in speeduino world we have some software issues from time to time. But it ussualy resolves in next update (last big issue I remeber in one version that my laptop keeps disconnecting while driving) hope it helps You to get to right way 😉 and again, amazing project, love it.

It's a good feeling. Can I suggest that you either monitor the fuel pressure with a gauge or perhaps log it if you have an available analog input. Pump limitations, or pressure regulator problems, or other issues can cause fuel pressure to vary. It's not always a catastrophic failure and you could end up chasing lean conditions or worse if there is a problem.

Nice work, I know the feeling of the first test ride and your first ride was alot smoother than mine. When it comes to losses the signal from the crankshaft sensor check so you don't got some disturbance from the electric or ignition system. In my supercharger Honda the AFR meter not worked properly over 8000 rpm and warned for underpower when I still got over 14V but a capacitor across the 12V power wire solved the problem. I might be so easy that just check over the wiring and move some wire to another place.
Good luck and I looking forward for the next video.

you probably won't heed this advise but from one biker to another you might want to seriously consider taking this video down or at least re-editing it before it gets much more attention, law enforcement has figured out that youtube videos are easy money and they are citing and arresting people based solely on the driving videos they've published. you point blank state "we're building this bike to be a land speed bike so it's not street legal" then you post video of yourself riding it on public roads, if you at least edit out that statement then i'm pretty sure no one will even think twice about it as long as you don't make any confessions or show yourself hauling ass on public roads. Better safe then sorry!!!!
