I'm really impressed with this machine in the wet. Once your coil is covered with water have you then ground balanced it to see if it quiets down a little?
Not so far, I did ground balance further up the beach. It was chattering to itself a little, this was quietly and not a distraction. It seems happy at this.
@@SandyToesDetecting - Thanks for sharing an honest and informative first outing and review of the Simplex in the water. I would be interested to know if the detector can auto ground balance in the water and what GB number it can achieve. @@SandyToesDetecting I never thought you were doing anything wrong but like you I was surprised to see a decimal value in your first reply. The at pro is not so great in sea water, though very good in lakes/rivers
Dont discriminate out bottle caps. Alot of gold rings fall in that range.
Yes that is quite possible depending on the detector.
@@SandyToesDetecting on most detectors if you notch out pull tabs, you will be loosing some gold items. I have run many different brands. Currently running minelab and Nokta.
Agreed, I also use the CTX3030, the bottle caps are in a different zone, though some of the newer bottle caps have started to appear there.
I noticed very few females do metal detecting?
Not so many, I know a few but men definitely outnumber the ladies.
@@SandyToesDetecting we be digging up rubish at the beach for hours, any excuse to get away from the wife, 😂
@@projectshaman7320 DOnt know about your beeches but summer here brings many delights. :-)
I have old Surf Master Pi without discrimination lol, ordered simplex today for beach hunting, any tips on how to set it up best for beach hunting
@@projectshaman7320 Set it to beach mode, turn down sensitivity 1 notch from standard and ground balance in water, should be near enough zero. Takes 30 secs.
