What a beautiful day! Congrats on a great trip!
I'm doing a new remodeling project. My wife has wanted new flooring in the house since we bought it in 2020! Got the two big rooms done but still need molding!
I hate to let this tip out but maybe it's unique to my primary Hybrid lake. But many of my best Hybrid spots are next to brush piles that have been set out for Crappie.
The water here rarely get real cold like it does in Oklahoma. But next week it will drop into the 30's for a number of days so our water temps will drop into the lower 50's.
In 2012 while looking for Hybrids in 30FOW I caught a big 15" Crappie deadsticking.
One last thing! That would have been a killer time to have used my bait fishing technique! I've never tried it in low 50 degree water but plan to in two weeks.
Next week the weather look too unstable but we should have a good day or two the following week!

This weather should make the fishing better I think. I keep forgetting the mussels, but will try it again soon.

Great fishing my friends!! Those ACC crappie Stix are the way to go. We’ve probably pulled out thousands of crappie using those rods!

Thanks! We are at about 100 crappie, so a little bit behind you lol. But I was super surprised how the pole really didn’t bend that much with the large fish we caught.

@ Yes you will enjoy those rods more and more. I’ve tested other rods and they aren’t that great.
But, what livescope unit do you have, lvs32, or 34?

I am too! My dad told me I would have as much spare time retired as I had working! He was right!
We did buy a new home on property so it's a full time job remodeling, gardening and trying to maintain big flock of chickens.
I also picked a AM part time job so I don't sleep in all the the time. I get home around 9am so it about the time I would have woke up ate breakfast and be ready to do stuff!

Gotta love it. Can't put the jig in the school of crappie. Put it just above them a foot or two, when they start coming up, slowly pull up and make them follow it.

Nice to see you catch some slabs! I love crappie. Was that an ACC Crappie pole? I got a 7ft ACC and they’re phenomenal rods.
Crappie are typically either suspending fish just out in the middle of the lake somewhere, or are found tight in brush piles. Were you fishing a brush pile or did you just find a school on live scope suspended?

    • @BooneBoys
      @BooneBoys  13 дней назад +1

Yes we got some 13’ ACC poles. Seemed like those were the most highly recommended. So far we like them. Haven’t ever tried other so can’t really say how they compare.
These were in brush piles. Used to get caught up in these walleye fishing.
I could see how a 7’ would be nice in 50’fow. You can go straight down and the length isn’t really advantageous.

@BooneBoys just wait until a largemouth, sandy or catfish grabs your crappie lure. It'll be like fighting a marlin if you don't break off and keep the drag fairly low.
