Dr. Sophie King-Hill bio and links
Sophie is an Associate Professor in the Health Services Management Centre at the University of Birmingham. She specialises in sexual behaviours and first point assessment in children and young people, sexual health, controversial issues and teenage parents. Sophie has an interest in policy implementation, transfer and success frameworks and evaluation strategies. Sophie leads a many projects that seek to understand what constitutes sexual behaviours - both online and offline - in young people. Her research is grounded in listening to the voice of young people, participatory and co-design approaches, incels, masculinity for young men and boys and relationships, sex and health education. She previously taught relationships, sex and health education in schools, worked with teenage parents, youth offenders and was the national impact coordinator for a leading sexual health charity.

Professor Kieran McCartan bio and links
Bio: Professor Kieran McCartan is a professor of Criminology at the University of the West of England, Bristol. He specializes in the research and policy related to the prevention of sexual abuse and the treatment as well as risk management of people convicted of it. Professor McCartan is the deputy chair of NOTA, the chair of the board of trustees of Circles South West as well as a board member of the Risk Management Authority, Scotland. He advises the Council of Europe and the European Commission on policies and practices related to the prevention of child sexual abuse.

I head up the research at an Australian NGO working to protect children and young people from CSA, I also work with our Youth Advisory Council - improving sex education is a major issue they have been speaking about. The thought of reducing sex education is frightening. As Kieran said, if parents don't feel comfortable with these conversations or are unable to have them, who is going to. We cannot leave the sex ed of children to online pornography or online sites that may be providing misinformation.
