- On the Kings Birthday Long Weekend 7th - 10th March 2024 Steamrail Victoria visited the northern Victorian city of Shepparton with steam locomotives K183 & K190. After transferring from Melbourne to Shepparton on the 7th, the two locomotives conducted push - pull steam shuttles between Shepparton and the small town of Tallygaroopna on Saturday - Monday 8th - 10th June. Six shuttle trips took place on Saturday & Sunday, while three trips took place on Monday morning.
In this video we see the steam shuttles at various locations on the line between Shepparton and Tallygaroopna across all three days, including various roadside locations, level crossings, and various clips within Shepparton and Tallygaroopna. K183 lead the slow trip to Tallygaroopna tender-first, while K190 lead a sprightlier trip funnel-first back to Shepparton.

Good to see those Ks working so hard!
Great video mate.
Awesome video mate! it was great seeing K 183 going tender first! Hopefully you start to see more steam in Shepperton over the next couple of years!
Amazing video! I love the many shots around Tallygaroopna at Different angles!

@@ThebusofdoomFSX Seems like it
Well Alex, looks like you had a steamy long weekend! Pardon the double entre pun.
A few highlights; -
1. The jointed rail beyond V/Locity territory looks like it needs a bit more ballast tamping. Couple of bad holes near Reynolds Road at 5.44.
2. Loved the Furphy motto at 15.24.
3. There goes the V/Line coach at 20.35.
4. Congupna at 22.27+. While you were focussed on getting both approach and receding views, the interesting siding arrangements (Staff/Master Key/Annett Lock Column and rodded catch points) were missed. Another friend has captured this well and I'll share the photo later (perhaps a birthday pressy?).
5. Foggy Monday - reminds me of procedures I had to learn last century. Will share other comments when I next see you.
Cheers from Michael.🙂😉🙂
They'll possibly do it again next year unless other tours are planned.
Hopefully
I'm sure Steamrail are pretty buoyed by the success of these shuttles and will do more trips to northern Victoria in the future.
On an unrelated note if SRHC do another trip to Tocumwal with the parlor cars I'm definitely going for a ride.
@ThebusofdoomFSX True.
