Doctor Who: Season One is only ONE MONTH away! Richard and I are excitedly making our predictions and theories for the upcoming episodes and asking all the big questions; Who is Ruby Sunday? What's the deal with 'Susan Twist'? And IS Mrs Flood really a Plasmavore...?

My big wildcard theory is that this season as a whole will be dealing with the concept of the butterfly effect and changing time. I propose that, as a consequence of this, the Doctor doesn't actually regularly radically change costumes (and hairstyles), that's a symptom of the change in timelines (so, in the version of time where episode 2 happens, 15's always worn a blue suit. In the version of time where episode 6 happens, he's always worn red velvet). I think we might have already had a glimpse of this with the sudden change from the orange shirt to the gray one at the end of the christmas special. I think it might be cool if, in episode 1, he doesn't take off his coat, it just disappears between shots.
All of this is to say, I think it might be a mean trailer trick to have a scene from the finale or something where they flash back to an earlier episode, and have the Doctor wearing his costume from the finale in that scene, and then use that flashback version of the scene in the trailer so we assume that that scene's from the finale instead of a different episode, and our theories about the shape of the season are all wrong.
Quite a lot of shots in the trailers look like they're from the finale, don't they?

I'd love it if Ruby was an alien, we don't get many alien companions in the revival. So far we've only had Nardole.

Well Jack wasn’t born on earth, even if he is human.
Making Ruby an alien but revealing it at end of season would be a way for Russell to keep his audience insert character that he likes to be from modern day earth because that’s what we THINK she is, but then add that twist in and boom, we had an alien companion the whole season!
