- Newcastle United have one of the hottest strikers in world football right now - Alexander Isak. With a Champions League finish still a target for the club there's news that they want to reward the Super Swede with a brand new, bumper deal in the summer, and that our number 14 isn't for sale at any price. Will it be enough to keep Alex at the Toon? Chris gives his opinion on the latest regarding Isak's future.

I honestly hope he gets a hat trick against Arsenal next week.
OMG that would be sweet! 🤣
and then waves at the arsenil fans as he kisses the badge
That would be a sweet sweet moment and legendary memoriey
His wages need to be doubled to keep him, everyone knows how good he is including Alexander the Great, let’s show him how much we love him, how we want to build a team around him to conquer at home and in Europe, that must be our aim if we are to continue to grow into a great team
I agree
Spot on Chris 👍
Alexander Isak is our best ever striker in the PL since Alan Shearer he is staying at our club ⚫⚪
I know it’s old news but that pass from Murphy - the control and the goal was sublime. Murphy hit that pass / and his tricks to make the space were also awesome. But I have never seen anyone control that better than Isak. Zidane skill. Off topic but I really haven’t seen anyone do that before
Soon as we give isak a pay rise tonali Bruno botman will want one it's. A knock on effect just hope we get champions league
I totally agree chris. The thing is alex is premier league proven. So many players who've been playing in other leagues fail or take a long time to get up to speed with the PL. Nice one chris, cheers as always. P.S: Nearly at 10k! That's incredible mate but it's a testament to just how entertaining the content you & mark put out. Well done lads. And chris, never stop those rants! Ha haaa.
Get rid of Target so we can move £100G a week across to the best striker in Europe for starters😮
He"l sign for sure, howay the lads and lassies 👍
Fun fact, Arsenal’s club line now diverts straight through to the Samaritans!
😅
Yes. And when you call and the line is busy, the song being played while you're on hold is 'The Blaydon Races'.
Until we actually win something Isak will always be linked with clubs who do. We need, at least, European football every season to keep our best players and sign better ones. We are a big club but with every year that passes without a trophy, it becomes harder to justify that to young players.
Offering Isak a bumper contract could be a reason we are not buying again this window. It’s simplified i know but his wages would come from Miggys transfer fee plus wages. Isak is worth it.
Tbf Id rather lock Isak in than buy a player for £20m or so
It's up to isak and the rest of the team to achieve European football.
I think both Isak and the club have reasons to wait until later in the season to sign this. The club needs to know what their actual PSR wiggle room is going to be and Isak needs to know if we're in Europe next season. The new squad cost rules scare me a bit. If our wages are already at 68% of revenue and UEFA's limit is 70%, that leaves zero room for new signings unless we clear out a lot of high earners who don't play or bring in some major sponsorships.
We need to break our wage structure at some point so might as well make Isak the first one imo
Question. Are we having a quiet window so we can offer the money as wages to Alexander? Im not 100% sure if wages and transfer fees count as the same 🥴
It's my understanding that they do count the same. And according to the Deloitte report just released, our wages alone are 68% of our revenue. We're facing a limit of 70% if we get into Europe next season. No wonder we're not signing anyone.
@Robert.Sheard thank you
Big shout out to Eddie Howe turning this kid into the best player in the world
Totally agree. If we don’t get ECL football he’s off. I just hope we get some body’s in as we can’t go through the rest of the season with the same 11 players.
Absolutely bang on Chris, Champions league is a very minimum to keep Isak. Anything less than that and hell be gone IMO. I wouldnt grumble if he then left, he deserves to be at the very top.
ISAK must be on at least 200k a week
If he stays, the paradigm shift would have officially occurred. Meaning, all the outside noise about Newcastle players moving to other clubs will stop.
When he does eventually sign the new contract Chris we need you to go to the emirates stadium and watch the Gooners crying 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He may wait to the end of the season, but we have a contract until 2028 don’t we? So technically we can still demand a hefty price for him? Or am I wrong?
Chris it’s no brainier, our owners are not Ashley don’t need to line their pockets, we must launch fans noise the Saka suits Eddie style of football let’s get him in the summer
does a moonie at the arsenal fans when he scores next week🤣🤣🤣
Our wage bill sits at 68% of turnover, UEFA rule from next season will be 70%. New sponsors are critical to our progress. Isak must offered a massive deal imo
We as a club are so, so close. We need to keep our blue chip players and have a blinding summer transfer window. If 25/26 doesn’t work out, the whole project goes back years.
All about the champions league this is key issac staying with the toon
Doesn’t the fact that we took a punt and saw the potential when the morons elsewhere didn’t have faith, count for a lot . Here’s my take - our team are great as we have a group that want to play. I appreciate Isak can get whatever he wants. I have met him and he is humble and a decent man. Just like the others - A TEAM. No one could afford Shearer and this is the point - no one could BUY Shearer.
I’ll chip in 10 hours pay from my own work a week to keep him.
@@adamcrawford1346 well said
I still remember he make Liverpool look stupid on his first game. He is unique. He lifts his foot maybe 3 feet and rockets the ball.
if we sold him to one of the red cartel
think thats me done with football for good
If any one of our blue chips are sold to the septic 6 I’m gone. Had no interest in England for 20+ years. Why? 1) 1998, France ‘won’ the World Cup with an African team. 2) Qatar. Football is totally corrupt and we all know it ….PSG away?
give him what he wants end of...
Give him what he wants, he can play in any team.
No footballer is worth 200 grand a week, rediculous
True
Here is a list of big earners.
Kai havertz at Arsenal is on 280K a week/Haaland is on 350k a week soon to be 500k a week/KDB 350k a week/Messi was on 675K a week and Ronaldo was on 600K a week.
Go to the Saudi league
Ivan Toney is on 400k a week (tax free)
Mitrovic 500k a week (Tax Free)
and it goes up and up over there.
Totally agree, it's crazy money now what football players are getting, going to bankrupt some clubs! 😢
@@paulburton1545 1979 was the First £1 million player (Trevor Francis/Nottingham Forest)
Or Newcastle just tell him he isn't going anywhere
Everyone has their price ...
Shearer was a goal machine and a personal favourite but Isak is in the whole better than shearer was and can get even better. Have to keep at all costs it would be five steps backwards to lose him. He is special
I think the club said 150m to put everyone off and now they're bricking it coz someone might actually go there
Serious question,if we could get 150 million would it not solve our financial problems for years? No more scrimping?
hibs and newcastle in talks with swap deal isak for gayle isak not good enough for hibs
