This media team is unmatched! I was there yesterday and my ears are still ringing. Southern Human Jukebox is simply breath taking hearing them in person for the 1st time. Comments saying they aren’t loud as advertised is false. They’re louder than footage shows and it wasn’t even a match. SU for the win
John McGee yeah indoors don’t do anything for there sound and people where saying the same fake stuff last year but if was a different story in the stadium

I've always thought TXsu volume (sound) was close to SU. I know one thing though, if I have to listen to those high school arrangements, I'm going to stop listening TxSu. They need a new director fast.
@@11uapb ppl look at Txsu and say they btones and tubas carry the way all the time and here that's not the case. I heard them in person and as small they are they carry a big sound regardless of what they lack.

spowell07059 yeah I think this season has just been challenging in general bc ppl aren’t really that enthused by the captain choice. Micah is a great dancer and I’m not in the business of tearing down a young lady it’s just that the captain spot has to go to someone with the “IT” factor and I think ppl are just bored. But the dolls will rebound next season hopefully

Another W for"The Human Jukebox". TxSu trying to compare and match power and fife with SU which they can't. They don't sound bad , but when you listen to the arrangements the dynamics, balance, control and articulation of SU can be heard in their arrangements, each part, even in the woodwinds. The hype music is cool to play when you are short on arrangements and trying to extend the competition which SU is never short of musical selections.You can simply "Try" to out blow SU, but you cannot out "Play" SU. The fundamentals of music are praticed and rehearsed first!!!👍
There won’t be many bands by a long shot to ever overthrow SU or even JState until band directors learn how to arrange songs to fit the composition of their band dynamics! I will continue to say this. Im from Houston, grew up watching the Ocean, never went to SU, nor am I biased. Txsu not sorry, their arrangements are just not conducive to their band. I’ve been playing trumpet for 22 years, before someone say I don’t know music. But every school is trying to out blow SU and forget that every song SU play, you can hear every part clearly each time. Txsu trumpets are not strong at all and the band is bottom heavy. If this battle was outside, Txsu will have been exposed because sound doesn’t travel well at all inside of a gym. I really hope other bands get start arranging better so these battles won’t be so one sided all the time. Hell, even Stillman College sounds better than Txsu and they half the size but it’s because of arrangements. It matters a lot

Debonair Ugh YES! Micah boring as hell. Dannie had every song lit with counts and gabby did just that last season but Micah ass sit down every count and it’s honestly boring . I’m going to watch JSU cause I heard they been turning up.
Official _QT Lol Micah is good at executing but yea she’s been very boring at these last past couple of battles. I’m actually not expecting anything spectacular at Crankfest this year from the Dolls which saddens me to say😌

You SU fans really need to give props to this TxSU band! Out of all the battles that i have seen every year , this band is the only one that gives yawl a run for your money. Besides SU have not always been the heavy weight. I can recall TxSU kickin that ass in the 80s!!!!!!

I always enjoy the Jukebox and it was a clear win for them. TxSU sounded better than I expected, with consideration for what they've been going through. They don't sound like they're moving in a specific musical direction but more like they're just pulling out arrangements with no focused sound concept. I'm looking forward to things getting better for them soon.

Did anyone notice the Juke handle business with 30% of its book? Not one Taylor tune was played last night. Was he under the weather? Best fight from TXSU since 11. Good battle. Thanks for the dope footage. It allows us to see the ENTIRE band and not just one particular section.
Dayvon Savage Taylor was there. I’m assuming he wasn’t feeling too well. He sat with his head in his lap most of the match.
Right after the first song from both bands I knew how this was going to turn out. The only strong sections TSU have is their btones and tubas. Other than that they lack that full sound. Arrangements was alright for their style. SU just had them right out the gate.
Mr. Igohard69 that’s every year though i don’t know why TXSU don’t realize that trumpets greatly improve your sound evidence this year is with Grambling and Alcorn

LightBright Biancaa Alcorn is a sleeper band they will shock a lot of bands I hope Southern be ready for them because I think Alcorn will want revenge from the way they were man handled by Southern at last year’s SWAC Championship
...also the acoustics of the gym really helped in txsu’s favor... i’m sure today on the field the sound will be different. jus my opinion... 🤷🏾♂️

Hearing a lot of rap songs which is cool, but could use old hits too...gotta mix it up. The I remember was also too fast. And they sittin on these songs like previous years. Overall we still bringing the smoke, just a little constructive feedback from a die hard. Slow it down on some of these so we can really hear the volume/power and quality...band starting to do a whole lot of PDiddying too... jumping around and dancing which is cool occasionally. Most of times other bands do that to compensate for lack of quality...the jungle was too fast so the power of the joint was missing to me...

As great as SU is, when ever they get challenged on dynamic range they always respond with something loud. SU dynamic range: f, ff, fff, FFFF, and make you F’ing ears bleed. The amazing part is the brass is fairly balanced through that entire range.
