Čičmany is a small, picturesque village in northern Slovakia, renowned for its unique folk architecture and distinctively decorated wooden houses. Nestled in the Strážov Mountains in the Žilina Region, Čičmany stands out for its traditional log houses adorned with intricate white geometric patterns, a style of folk art that is unique to this village. These decorative patterns, originally applied as a way to protect the wood from the sun and weather, have evolved into a symbol of Slovak heritage.
