I love that blouse. The fabric is wonderful. I made the Yanta Overall’s in the shorts version and they’re adorable. I machine embroidered a large butterfly on the bib and gave them to my adorable sister.
Thank you Loriann. I haven’t invested in an embroidery unit… yet😉 Yours sound wonderful. My sister keeps watching my blogs and asks where are her dungarees, I keep promising her a pair.
Hi Andie, thank you for another great vlog. You mentioned the 20% off on the secret garden, but I didn't catch what site, the fabric is beautiful. I love both the Yanta and Heydays. Hugs from East Sussex
Hi Maria I’m so sorry, it’s Sherwood Fabrics but when I checked last night I couldn’t see any in stock. There are similar styles but not secret garden 😊
This video is perfect timing for me. I’ve only been sewing for myself for 7 months, and I’ve recently been contemplating making dungarees, but I didn’t know which pattern to buy. Your video has helped me a lot. Thank you.
Hi Andie .I was In st ives las thursday. Having lunch .Bought fabric in the craft shop. Never new it was there befor. I was glad to know that. You have given me inspiration . I have loved your channel. My channel is now up and running .The cornish sewing girl . Please bare in mind its just my secound video. I got lots to learn xx
Ahhh amazing lovely well done you! I will go check it out. Sam in the craft shop is so helpful and loves anything fabric or yarn. Let me know next time you’re in St Ives and we could meet for coffee 😘
I’ve made two pairs of Yanta’s. A stretch sateen in a funky animal print and a cotton twill in black. I agree with the back strap area. That got me on the first pair. I did some side adjustments to bring the sides in. And I’ve done button fastenings. I do love them. I quite fancy making the Heydays now, after watching this.
This was brilliant! Thank you. I've really gotten into dungarees recently but I've not made a pair from a pattern - YET! I bought some ready to wear Run & Fly dungarees last summer which I absolutely love and the fit is spot on, so I made a copy cat version of them by tracing them. It worked out great and I've now made 2 pairs, one in stretch cotton sateen and one in a needlecord. I have more fabric to make another pair. I'd say mine are very similar to the Yanta in shape and style which I actually liked on you the best. I think the other two are very similar to the Lucy and Yak in their relaxed fit though, which you obviously prefer 😃. I have a Guthrie and Ghani kit to make the Pauline Alice Turia dungarees, so will be interesting to see what they turn out like. I would like to make the Yantas, Erin and Heydays though as I think it's nice to have a variation. Good to know about the ease in the Erin's too xx
Thank you SO much, that is so kind of you. I need to learn how to make a copy cat version properly. I tried once with a T-shirt, which was a complete fail! I prefer the more relaxed ones in the evening (she says sitting here in a pair of them now 😂) xx
I’m catching up on the videos I missed when I had flu. Loved this. Waves and Wild have 40% off patterns today so have bought the Hay Day dungarees. You look great in all of them, so as these were the most comfortable, and were a similar shape, it had to be these. Looking forward to making them up as I don’t own a pair of dungarees. 🐝🚴♀️ x
The Tilly and the Buttons dungees looked very roomy, but I felt they were the least flattering from the waist down. Maybe they would look good on a very large person. The Hayday ones say they'r based on a person 5'5" tall. I'm just six inches taller trying the XL size... good to know the legs are quite long. I'm tempted to line the top to give them a bit more body! Thanks again! Xx
Well done ! I love my linen Yantas and the CC Jenny overalls. Different fabrics have such an impact ! I'm just working on a tapered leg Jenny but you nearly convinced me to make up the Heydays which have been sitting in my queue 😊
I now know more about Dungarees than I imagined I could this week lol. Love them all, so I’m completely useless. So intrigued about the mystery item you’ve been making for Valentine’s Day and the “learning experiences”. I have them on a daily, sometimes hourly basis lol. Xx
Hi Andie. Thanks for sharing. I have made two pairs of the Yantas and the Greta dungarees by Made Me Wardrobe. Love them both! 😀 I have the heydays but want to make another of the Gretas as I have made adjustments to the pattern and my first was a wearable toile. I needs lots of adjustments to dungarees because I have a long torso, full seat and swayback! 😅❤
I haven’t seen the Greta, thank you for letting me know about that one. I didn’t make many changes to the heydays, they are quite loose, but I could probably shorted the torso a little with the next pair. I just need to be careful not to take too much out or I won’t be able to sit down! 😂x
Haya. Your overalls look amaziiiiiing 🤩🤩 I have made the Hayday's after seeing Jess' from So What If I Sew a bunch of time ago now 🙂 I have also made a New Look pair even longer ago, overalls, jumpsuits, rompers, whichever, they are just great fun & look good 🙂Thanku 'sew' much for sharing 🪡✂🧵🙂x
Very useful comparison. I am making my 3rd Yanta but with a totally different fabric from the first 2. Not quite finished yet. I am now tempted to try the heydays. 🤔
Thank you for this great video! I also really loved the comparison of the patterns. I don't think I'm a dungarees kind of person, but this video is definitely giving me second thoughts. I think I might like them in a summer-weight, patterned fabric.
Thanks for doing this comparison- really useful! I have made the heydays and agree they are long in the body. I am 6feet tall and added 2inches to the body which is quite normal for me but when I make my next pair I will take 1 inch out but I will also add length to the legs. I think I had added 3 inches to the leg length but they are slightly shorter than I would like them. My daughter wants a pair similar to her Lucy and yak ones so it is interesting you thought the Erin dungarees are most like those. I have that pattern too so I will give them a go but will make the straps longer and use the loops rather than making button holes. All those dungarees looked good on you but I have to say that of the three you made I think the heydays looked the best. Really a useful vlog thank you. Love your Emma blouse too - I have pattern and fabric ready for that one- now just need the time!😅
Thank you Penny. I think the heydays are probably the closest to the Lucy and yak and the Erin to the second pair of shop bought ones. But the Erin are lower at the sides. If you lowered the sides of the heydays they would be quite close I think. 😊
They all look great Andie, thanks for the info, I have about four pairs of denim dungarees from stores, I made some floral ones which I made the pattern from some linen shop bought ones that I literally wore out but I do feel a bit childrens show presenter in them, but I might have to try these ones. Xx Did you find another job Andie? I hope so, well if that’s what you want lol.
Hi Tracy I do know what you mean about the children’s presenter but I think of you style them right then they look better. I have stayed with my current job but on reduced hours which will be reviewed in a few months. Thank you for asking x
Hi I have a juki ddl 8700 and it’s an amazing machine. It’s a single straight stitch but never misses a beat and will pretty much sew through anything. 😊
I think you look amazing in warm blue colours. Warm blue is definitely your hero, statement colour range.
Thank you Kylie 😊

You are very welcome Marion. I found the heydays the easiest of the three to make, if that helps at all. 😊
It does! x

The heydays are a much quicker make but I do still love the Yanta. Thank you for your lovely comment, your stretch sateen pair sound gorgeous 😊
Love love love your blouse the fabric is gorgeous . I liked the heyday dungarees they looked great.
Thank you so much Sue. I must admit it is one of my favourite fabrics 😊
This was brilliant! Thank you.

Thank you Debs. I really like mine. Now you’ve mentioned a linen pair I fancy some of those too! 😊

I know more about dungarees too 😂 maybe enough for now! Love that I have so much to learn with this and so many mistakes to make 😂😂
Really helpful, thank you! Dungarees are on my Make 9 for this year, I’m still undecided between Yantas and Heydays.
Thank you. If it helps at all, the Heydays are a quicker make then the Yanta 😊
You look stunning in navy blue. 😍
Thank you so much 😊
I really enjoyed the comparison of all the patterns. I haven’t made dungarees yet but watch this space…..
Thank you Catherine 😊

Thank You for a very informative and helpful video! I'm about to make the Hayday dungarees, in a terracotta linen mix.
Thank you Janet, the Heydays are one of my favorites 😊
What a great video I have the yantas pattern they looked a great fit on you! I’m inspired to have a go! Thank you 😊
Thank you so much Maria I’m so glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you 😊
I’m looking at purchasing a industrial Juki 1541s. What is the model of your machine? Do you like it? 😊
Hi I have a juki ddl 8700 and it’s an amazing machine. It’s a single straight stitch but never misses a beat and will pretty much sew through anything. 😊
@@soandiesews Thanks. I’m going to get one that has a walking foot. I make drapes and need that. Love your videos.
@@dimples7334 thank you so much and good luck with the new machine. 😊
