    Of them all Clifford Aboagye is the best who couldn't make it to the senior team, his touch to the ball and his frantic moves are too delightful to match. I have learnt he is playing some where in South America

    These guys failed in Europe because often they just didn’t have the mental strength to cope with whatever that was thrown at them. A player who should be on this list is Daniel Addo. What a player he was. I had so much hope that he will lead Ghana to bigger things but then he never amounted to much.

    Main raison..... They are 25 years old or over when they where playing u17. They where 30 when they reached high level. Corruption in Ghana football is the problem.

    We discount how difficult it is to move abroad. Language, culture, weather, lack of player care from clubs, ridiculous expectations, etc, all play a part.
    Full grown adults struggle, never mind youngsters.

    I'm in disagreement with Willie's over age factor. The whole problem is they lose their vision. ( destination) To be great achiever you must have vision. Essien, Kuffour, Abedi, Appiah, Sulley, Asamoah, Okocha, Kanu, all played in the youth competitions but made their mark in world football. They got there because they had a vision. They knew where they were going and how to get there. (Hard work and consistency)

    • @kkb5279
      @kkb5279 4 года назад +2

      If had work and vision are the marks then team USA would win every FIFA tournament but history tells me team USA has never won any gold in a FIFA tournament (men's). And oh someone please let me know if a Ghanaian who having been born and raised in Ghana went to a top league in Europe directly and was on the team sheet as a starter from his first season in Spain, Germany, England or Italy. As far as I know no Ghanaian (born and raised in Ghana) has achieved this and that leads me to think the players are raw in terms of talent and therefore have to develop and or polish their talents before making it in to top leagues.

    Jonathan Mensah himself never reached his full potential. He was a real successor to John Mensah. Jonathan was fantastic during his days at Free State Stars. He showed glimpses of what could have been at the 2010 world cup. After that, he has nosedived into something else. Playing in the MLS as the weakest link of his current club side Columbus Crew's defense. I expected him to be playing in a big league with a top team by now.Paa Joe, what happened to you too?

  • @Kobby405
    @Kobby405 4 года назад +3

    The main reason why this is happening is because of management. The players dont have the right management. Decision making is very poor and the overall approach of them making the journey to foreign teams is poor. If you look at the top footballers they have teams built around them to make sure they are mentally, physically and socially ready to make their career with a foreign club a success. They're families know the business and they play an important role in that team. Don't expect a Club to have your best interest in mind when they have 30 players or more to cater for. Trusting club doctors in injury situations and playing through nasty injuries, bad habits, praying to God to help you score goals but the only trainers you practice with are constantly doing the same drills with you but you expect different results. It all adds up to your decline as a player.

      their families are to be blamed. when players get exposure to playing in national tournaments and big European teams come calling with huge offers. should their local club managers and owners advise them to nature their talents here before leaving for Europe. Then their families to go the club owners to plead for them to release the player. Because the player is their ticket to good life.once that happens, they go away and career ruined, if not lucky. Blame it on poverty.

    I remember seeing Adams Opare Adiyah and Osei. The reality is one youth tournament cannot compare to European clubs teaching and training boys for years plus those boys competing with other top clubs every week. International youth tournaments for a top European club player is nothing more than a bonus, a desert. A players real development comes when his club teaches him every week. The countries with the best club teams have the best players, and the best players control international football. Simple. You can't expect a Ghana boy to just play a international youth tournament and walk into AC Milan's youth squad with no problems. What level has the kid been playing at prior to Milan? Watching Essien's career, he spent around 4 years in France, and then had a bad first year at Chelsea before he became an international star. He literally had to have part of his youth training development in his early 20s smh. You can just about produce one Essien or Muntari like that, but it will be impossible for Ghana to produce a Messi Ronaldo or Neymar because that type of talent has to be spotted and sharpened at top club teams from as early as 10 years old. European development will only start for a Ghanaian player around 19 or 20 years. We are constantly too far behind to win a WC. Also I know height in football is not everything but Adiyah and co look like midgets on the pitch lol. What are the GFA feeding them?

    The European game and the Ghanaian game is entirely different. You can play certain ways over her but you can't play that way out there. For instance, in our local games some of our players would be taking the ball forward when there is space but would bring the ball back all of a sudden, and the opponents would recover. If you do that in European games, you coach is likely to bench you or give you out on loan.
    Our boys are not quick for the fast nature of the European games. Here, i will side with the age factor, most are at their peak playing the at junior level.
    Some players had bad managers who are not doing well to advertise their players for scouts.

    What the hell is Benjamin Graham talking about? What does not using your right age have to do with not fitting in with the “rhythm and play of a team??? “ If a Ghana boy lies about his age and says he's younger, when he goes out to a club in Europe, surely him being the older and more physical player will work to the Ghanaian's advantage? Then he starts waffling about young players getting a certain dosage of medicine based on a players injury and his age in Europe. But because of the peculiar situation of Ghanaian players it goes a long way to affect them. HOW??? IN WHAT WAY??? EXPLAIN!!! Yes Ghana have an age problem but Graham failed to explain Ghana's problems in any detail

    One major thing you left out is Age Cheating

    I'm reading a lot of age cheating comments which is bull crap. Soccer is a skill game. Younger or older your skill does the playing not your age. Besides GMO foods in the West has made 16 year old boys look more manly than most African footballers in their 20s. Over 90% of young African footballers are malnourished. They burn significantly more calories than they consume and rely on nature to do the rest. I grew 3 inches taller and 15 Ibs heavier my first 6 months in the united states just by drinking almost 2 gallons of cow milk per week. Tom Brady is 40 something and is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL which is more brutal than soccer. The age thing makes absolutely 0 sense in top flight football for determining why these phenoms from Ghana dont make it. "Its poor management"

      I see you're not one of the sheep lol. Changing your age only affects the generations below you. If Adiyah is really 23 but was drafted into the u20 Milan squad, wouldn't lying now physically improve Adiyah's chances of making it??? Yes he'll have a shorter career but who cares? He made it! Money in da bank lol. As you said skills will win at the end whether you are lying about your age or not. And about food, some of those boys look like midgets lol. Food in Ghana is a huge problem that goes beyond football sadly. Keep writing!

      @@Topsey2000 food and nutrition is a big issue bc an aspiring or professional footballer needs atleast 3500 calories per day to function effectively when they're training vigorously (Macro and Micro nutrients). In teenagers, it can accelerate growing a few inches or muscle and skeletal hypertrophy (growth spurt). Genetics can only take you so far

      Make sure the young prospect is eating between 3000 and 3500 calories(google it) per day just to maintain weight. If you want the player to get bigger, increase it and vice versa.

      You really have to micromanage the player for peak results long term.

    They couldn't reach the limit bcos of cheating age. How can a 27 year old player say he is under 17. Do you remember kofi mbeah who was signed by anderlecht. For years he was put on special diet but remain same in stature. Anderlecht had no option than to do away with him. You recall Taribo west of Nigeria. When he was celebrating his 27th birthday in Europe his twin bro was celebrating his 41st birthday. That's Africa for you.

    They will be 25 to 30 years, they played under 17- 20 tournament and win. Age is a number, but in the short run,it will tell on you. Stop reducing your age,if you are 17 or 20 year old, you deserve to play under 17 and 20 tournament not when you're 25 to 30 years.
