    I am 68 years old. I run marathons. I do 15,000 steps average per day. I run or cycle 6 days a week & took rest for a day. I am doing this for the past 12 years. I have no sugar, cholesterol and any other issues. Thanks for your valuable information.

    My age 57...I walk 12000 steps daily Morning and evening put together... I walk slowly... approx 2.5 to 3hrs

      12,000 steps at 57 is a good count but try to do a moderate level brisk walking to stay fit and maintain your overall health.

    Morning i am walking 5km covering around 8000 steps and 15 mts exercise covering 2000 steps. Daily routing other activities around 3000 steps. Daily i am covering 13500/steps. I am 71 years old.

    I am Ravichandran 60 year old retired police officer, last 5 years I have daily walk of 10k steps, reduced 8 kg of weight, also changed food habit. 1 time veg lunch morning and night fruits or vegetables only. Pray God for mental health. Diabetic level considerably reduced. Leading happy life by all means. Thanks

      Hi sis I had started my walking one month before...intially in one hour 4k steps only walked but within two weeks in one hour I completed 6k steps...
      Nowadays am completing 10 k steps in one hour 40 mins❤

    I am 73 years old.But I try to walk atleast 10000 steps both inside and outside home.
    Mobilty of a person is important as we age.All of us should try to avoid
    sedantary life.
    We should not sit in the same place for more than 15 mts.

    Sir, I have read many Videos wherein they would speak generously and generally about the effects of Walking. They are all like encouraging us to indulge in walking. Honestly YOURS is one unique Video which scientifically explains the correlation between Walking-cum-Steps & the Relative intensity, the age-wise distribution and corresponding Steps etc. etc.

      Hi, it is better to walk 7000 to 10,000 steps per day for your age.
      Initially, you can start with a very slow intensity walking. When you do this continuously, in a month or so you can improve it to a mild brisk walking and then to brisk walking. This brisk walking will fetch you all the health benefits including weight reduction.

      Sir, if you are not in perfect form or if you do HIIT incorrectly, it may lead to joint problems. If you are overweight, you need to reduce your Weight, strengthen your muscles with muscle strengthening exercises and then only do HIIT.

      Ma'am, if you walk 7500 steps daily morning alone and then let's consider 2500 steps during daily activities, the total would count to 10000 steps. So, it is perfect.
      If possible, do try to increase your steps in the near future.

    I 65 year old. I was walking daily on treadmill mill for one hour at a speed of 8km/hour. After few months I started having heel pain, when I showed to orthopaedic doctor, he told me I am having Plantar fasciitis. Now I am not able to walk few meters because of pain. Kindly suggest me what to do and also is Plantar fasciitis curable.

      Infinity walking or 8 shaped walking is mainly used for people with brain injuries and to improve certain learning disabilities, hand eye coordination, etc.,.

      Hi, it is always better to do normal walking compared to 8 shape or infinity walking unless you have a coordination problem. Eight shaped walking applies more pressure on your ligaments, so it is better to do regular walking.

    i am 64 years old. daily i am walking 15000 steps per day. and i cover my 10000 steps in 90 minutes as per standard norms. but i am not able to stop taking deep fried items and . desserts .that is my weakness. how to overcome cravings over desserts. please help me. i am very shy to tell my weight which is over 110kgs. i dont have Bp, diabetics and any other complaints than this shameful obesity.

      Hi, walking will strengthen all the leg muscles. These muscles support your knee joint. When the muscles are strong, less pressure is exerted on joints. So, walking 10,000 or more steps does not cause any knee problems.

    Dear Dr., I am 64 years old. i do 5 days a week at least 2 hrs/day exercise at Gym. Doing, warm-up exercises, weights for leg, shoulders, chest, back, bicep, and triceps for arms. then stomach exercise for 10 and walking 15 mts in the treadmill for 15 mts at an average of 5KM/ hr speed. The total calories burned is 600 to 700 /DAY. Will it be sufficient or it is equivalent to walking 8000 steps? .Please advise Dr..

      Sir, according to medical research, losing 0.5 to 0.75 kg in a week or an average of 2 to 2.5 kgs in a month is considered healthy.
