Looks like an easy fix. Glad they got you a replacement so quick. I agree that a $200 shouldn't have scratches. I suspect it was the Assembly process that might have caused it. Thanks for the followup video. :)
One of my a&b buttons came out of the box with a prominent very visible scratch on it maybe I should contact them but I really don’t want to have to open it up myself
@@ced214 they will probably offer you the option to either send it back (which seems to be up to a 2 week turnaround), a new button for you to replace it with, or $15 off their online store. It's not too bad to open up. The video probably makes it look harder than it is because it was my first time and I didn't know what to expect so I did it slow. I'm used to actual Nintendo Game Boys. 😎 That said, popping in new buttons looks even easier than the IR port cover. I was actually considering putting some old maroon Game Boy buttons in mine.
@@connorthatguy3253 I try to explain in the video. I got them around 1997 or so. They are some of the first Game Boy flashcards ever made by a now defunct (sued by Nintendo into oblivion) company called Bung. You'd plug them into a flash linker connected to your PC via a printer parallel port. I'm talking OLD school here. Anything over Windows XP is not supported.
@Wompratz thanks man! By the way i asked the guys who made the chromatic about the power switch, on reddit. They say it was designed like that to prevent accidents, like a sensitive one going off when the console is bumped!

Appreciate you tuning in. Thanks Russell!

Dad didn't call it a "star pattern"?
Where is the flash cart from?
