Your the first person that explained this out of all the people I clicked on, and cricut doesn't explain anything at all, not even how to work with their machine for God's sake without confusing a person. thank you
I can not tell you just how helpful this video was. I have legit watched so many videos that still left me confused. This video literally cleared up my confusion and really helped and made alot of sense. Thank you!
I know that this video is 2 years old, and I’m just seeing it, but you have helped me so much, thank you so much. This is all so new to me . I purchased a Cricut Explore Air 2, I’m learning the machine, vinyl cutting, etc. I have watched countless videos over the past few months, and your video is the first one I’ve come across that teaches about which side the vinyl should be placed on, on the mat. Just learning that explains a lot, and is going to help me tremendously, going forward with my projects. I have subscribed to your channel and will continue to get tips and learn from you. Again thank you so much!
This is sooo helpful! I bought a mystery box that has both permanent and htv and didn’t know how to tell the difference. Now I can test them and sort them out! Thank you! 🙏
This was hugely helpful, thank you! (Also made me realize I've "heat transferred" a few personal items using permanent adhesive. So far, so good. Phew!)
Omg this helped me sooooooo much!! I have lots of vinyl and some are without the cover and I didn’t know what I had lol. This was extremely helpful for me. I was about to send my husband to hobby lobby for nothing haha 😂
I just got my new Cricut as a Christmas gift from my hubby. This video is so helpful! You've explained and showed the difference between iron-on and adhesive vinyl so clearly. Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video!! It was exactly what I was searching for. You answered all my questions and I super appreciate you sharing this information and making it so clear to understand. GOD BLESS YOU!
I know it sounds silly, but at least I know what HTV is now. Yesterday I figured out what an svg is lol. I just got my air 2 and so excited to use it. But I’ve had it for a couple days but didn’t even take it out of the box bc I’m so scared of it lol. But It’s out the box now and once I figure out the design space. Imma start. Thank u so much for ur video! It was very helpful!!! U did awesome
I know this is old but it really helped me with the cutting a small piece! I wish I had seen this an hour ago it would have saved me the frustration of trying to cut the wrong vinyl! Thank you!!
Thank you so much - I'm a complete beginner but was so confused about the different terms. I was worried about putting iron on or itv into my machine, but now realising that I have much more possibilities than the marketing would lead me to believe. Love your videos!
Thank you. You are a blessing. I just purchased a large swatch of vinyl and there was no markings on a lot of it signifying what kind. I'm new to this.
Very helpful. I have stacks of 12" square samples of both kinds of vinyl and that was one of my worries - that I'd get them mixed up. Great tutorial. Thank you.
Omggg the scissor trick would’ve saved me so much when I was first testing it out!!! I was told all white backing was permanent and htv was all one color 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ thank you so much
Thank you so much when I first started using my Cricut I did not label my scraps and when I went back to them had no idea what was what ......lol So helpful
Similar experience here 😊 wanted to save money and bought scraps from someone. Noticed there was a black piece of htv and now this confirmed it's exactly that.
Thank you. I was going around trash day and found a tub full of vinyls. All sorts. The person must have had a business of some sort. But when I brought them home there were so many I've never seen before. I didn't know which ones I could use on shirts and others on products. This video helped me a lot. Thank you. Still going through the pieces. So much brand new rolls not even used. I even found the girls company name. I have reached out to her but no response. I feel bad this definitely more than $600.00 worth of vinyls.
Thank you for explaining about HTV and iron adhesive vinyl. They are confusing to me really. I have questions for you, I don’t understand from Cricut material to buy the vinyl of everyday iron or smart iron. Are they for t shirt to press ? Or are they for adhesives with transfer papers to stickers on woods or glasses or cups. Right? Pls give me more infos about it thanks. I love your video 😊
Thank you for this extremely helpful video. How do i tell the difference between removable and permanent vinyl if i bought it second hand and there are no clear markings on the back and i have no packaging?
Hi just got a cricut, came with all kinds of vinyl. This video was so helpful in helping me sort them out. I do have 1 question. I want to make a Tshirt design but have cricut permanent vinyl, no iron on or htv. I also have transfer tape. How do I work with that? Thanks in advance!!!
If you want to make a design for a tshirt- you’ll need heat transfer vinyl/ iron- on. Permanent Vinyl is just like a sticker and can peeled right off fabric.
Why on earth do they call it HTVront self-adhesive vinyl. I saw HTV and bought a huge package only to learn it would not stick to any material. Why make it so hard. grrrrr Thank you for your explanation. It really helped.
This was helpful but if you’ve taken it out of the package how can you tell the difference between permanent and removable. Some of the older vinyl didn’t have permanent written on the lining.
your videos are soo helpful, by far the best I’ve come across☺️ I’m really hoping you can help me with a problem I’m having. When I lay my Iron On onto the mat, it just rolls up and won’t stay stuck down!😭 also my mat it brand new😭
This was very helpful thank you! But I do have a small question.. what are the alternatives for transfer tape? I’m currently in Sri Lanka and I have a cricut however I was unable to order the transfer tape for my vinyl can I know the alternatives please
I have a question. If you’re doing lettering for a shirt for instance would you need to still mirror the image? How would you transfer that to the shirt with multiple pieces wouldn’t you need to use the clear transfer tape and do it the opposite way; right side up?
Your the first person that explained this out of all the people I clicked on, and cricut doesn't explain anything at all, not even how to work with their machine for God's sake

Thanks so much for the friendly reminder! My HTV looked so much like my vinyl :)
So helpful! I was getting very frustrated! Thank you so much!

If you use the vinyl Adhesive and the transfer paper how would you transfer it to clothes ? With the heat press ?
Bless you hunni❤. This was much helpful, very informative. Thank you !

THANK YOU SMMM ! i’m trying to start a t shirt business and i was soooo confused 😭❤️
So helpful. Thank you, Rookie 😬
Thanks very helpful. Exactly what I'm going through
Thank you so much!! Excellent information!!
What kind of tape do you use to keep unused vinyl on the roll? I been using painters (blue) tape but it leaves a sticky residue on the vinyl. Ty!
I watched 2 videos on Oracal 651 but no body said if and how it can be washed. please tell me.
Thank you so much this helped me so much I messed up a lot of vinyl thank you
Thank you thank you this was so helpful 🥰
Thank you!! So helpful!!😎
Thank you for this extremely helpful video. How do i tell the difference between removable and permanent vinyl if i bought it second hand and there are no clear markings on the back and i have no packaging?
Unfortunately there isn’t a test for that!
@@KarleyHall no worries at all thank you for your response.

Thank You 😊 you're very good at explaining 👏 just what I been looking for
This was so helpful
Thank you!! This was the best video!
Thank you so much! This was very helpful for a beginner like myself :)
Perfect explanations thankyou x

Great info, Karley!
Thank u thank u!!! Soooooo helpful! Ur the best! 💙
Thank You So Much It was Extremely Helpful
Thank you for the great video and easy to understand
Thank you so much for this breakdown!!
Does vinyl stay on as long as HTV on fabric. Thank you
Thanks. This has been really helpful!!!
Thank you, this has been very helpful.
Great video!
Very useful information! Thanks a lot!
So thankful for this video
Awesome! Thank you😊
This was helpful but if you’ve taken it out of the package how can you tell the difference between permanent and removable. Some of the older vinyl didn’t have permanent written on the lining.
That is almost impossible to tell just by appearance. I learned that the hard way so now I stick a piece of painters tape on mine and label it!
your videos are soo helpful, by far the best I’ve come across☺️ I’m really hoping you can help me with a problem I’m having. When I lay my Iron On onto the mat, it just rolls up and won’t stay stuck down!😭 also my mat it brand new😭
ALana Martinez I use masking tape/ painters tape around the edges if my iron on won’t stick!
omggg thank u!!
excellent video.
Very helpful! Thank you so much 😊 💗
I needed this...thank you!!!
This was very helpful thank you! But I do have a small question.. what are the alternatives for transfer tape? I’m currently in Sri Lanka and I have a cricut however I was unable to order the transfer tape for my vinyl can I know the alternatives please
Masking tape! A thick roll of masking tape will work- just make sure to destick it a little!
Is there a way to tell if a vinyl is permanent or removable? I have some vinyl that all it says is adhesive with no numbers.
I need to know how to use the transfer tape where does it go
Oh my god thank you I’ve been wanting to know these
Very helpful.
How do you tell the difference from 631 and 651 without markings since they look the same?
Very helpful, thank you so much!
Great information.
Very helpful,👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you!!! Love you trick
I have a question. If you’re doing lettering for a shirt for instance would you need to still mirror the image? How would you transfer that to the shirt with multiple pieces wouldn’t you need to use the clear transfer tape and do it the opposite way; right side up?
Heat transfer goes shiney side down and you mirror.
Adhesive like for signs or window stickers is paper down and not mirrored.
Thank you so much for this video
You are wonderful! Thanks!
Thank you SO MUCH!!
Great video now I know thanks
