I am a Science, Maths and Technology teacher in Australia, grappling with the meaning and development of AI in education. This is one of the most useful videos I have watched so far. Thank you Dale.
The speaker in the video highlights the importance of educating children about artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications. He discusses the evolution of technology and how it has become accessible to more people, emphasizing that AI will also become ubiquitous. The education system needs to adapt to ensure that children are prepared for a world where AI technologies are core and widespread. The speaker suggests that education should focus on teaching children how to use AI tools and also provide hands-on experience with AI technology. Additionally, students should be taught the ethical implications of AI and its impact on various industries.
@Dale Important message for the Education sector that you delivered succinctly. Impactful and accessible examples notwithstanding the short permitted time slot of 15 minutes & broad spectrum of awareness in the TEDx audience. You made it relevant, gave guidance on strategic direction, and spoke elegantly. Truly: well done!
Education is for human to make them humane...how can AI Impart humanely reality of life? We ( human) are here to live harmoniously with our fellow, scientifically AI doesnt have this concept...parents, clise oarental guidance to our children are needed thus days...god bless
what would be the core message to express in this TED talk? important and capable of teching AI to school student? but how to interacted in normal school class setting?
I believe that the 'normal' school setting has to change. Our students need to develop skills (21st century skills) as they acquire knowledge. We need to create a classroom environment for our students to experiment, make mistakes, learn from failure, and aplly knowledge in real-world scenarios. AI is perfect for all that.
From primary school to universities, education is not fit for purpose...personalized AI agents to actually deliver lifelong education interactively, meeting the bespoke learning needs of individuals, is required...
Many of these examples point to a bifurcation between end users and creators. At one point 80% of spreadsheets had no formulas entered. Some people are fine with that. All uses should not focus on “business” and jobs. Much of it is personal productivity and economic activity.
