1981 I was a teen. Between Van Halen Fair Warning and Ghost in the machine, I could not, and still cannot pick a favorite album. But for 6 minutes of Demolition Man, I can't think of a song that for 6 minutes, just rips your head off. Throw a brick on the gas peddle and cut the brake line, then play this song. Wonderful!
Hugh Padgham, who was engineer on „Ghost in the Machine” recently revealed that bass on that song is played by Danny Quatrochi, Sting’s roadie, who did some bass punch-ins on the album.
I,m sure the interviewer is a very young jules Holland. I think I can remember this on the TV in the early 1980,s . it was filmed on monserat where they did a lot of recording, if my memory is correct. Bring on the Night!
It was called 'The Police in Monserrat'...went out on BBC2 in the UK around the time Ghost came out, or just after. It is Jool's before he went big band...! You can see the tension in the band already at this point...they hid Stewart's message on his drums to Sting well....
Closest to studio audio quality (but bad). Best example of Stewart Copleand, GOAT on drums. Recorded in Quebec in the worlds best advanced recording studio at the time. Album has amazing mixing was one of the first ever great Compact Discs of extreme high quality in the late 1980's. I was there. Get some very good quaility headphones, and listen to this song from Cd or better and you would think it was recorded yesterday. This audio is not great, but best I found on internet.
I know. I'm surprised he didn't take a swing at the guy. Then again, he was probably caught off guard. You just don't do what that guy did. As a guitar player, that's just so messed up to me.
Taken from the album "Ghost in the Machine". Day 5995. 5 x 11 x 109. All my urine and snow peas til 7.00pm then dried figs and black grapes and cherries and baby spinach leaves and iceberg lettuce and more snow peas and other foods at 8.30pm. No change.

This song is Fire! My favorite Police album. Not a bad track on the whole thing. Stewart Copeland.....what more needs to be said.
Agreed (tho I’m not sure what my favourite album is)
Love the Andy Summers interview. "You ever push the wrong wrong button?" "Usually."
Always been the best, i was gutted when they broke up.

Awesome!! Badass! Gotta Love the Police!
Watch and learn. Nice jam. LOVE the horns, almost on the edge of dissonant.
Saw the Police in there prime in concert when they were considered the best band awesome concert 😎😎

Funny, Andy tried to joke around by pushing the guitar neck towards the interviewer, but he doesn't have the sense of humor that Andy does.
Might as well pile on... I'm married to Grace Jones's version.
... I should specify : Offa "One Man Show."
