When I test drove the e-2008 I was surprised how well the noise suppression has improved compared to my current 2017 plate Petrol 2008. It's one of the reasons why I am getting the e-2008!
I tested the e-corsa, has the same drive train too. Nice, hard suspension, tho. It has the same virtual top view genration as Xpeng when we go backwords, lane assist. I liked it.
This is really good value for money. Of course everyone would prefer if it was ~2 to 3 seconds faster from 0-100, but for me less noise if much more valuable than acceleration, especially since I mostly drive in countries with 120/130 km/h speed limits anyways.
Towing hitch option would cause me to wanting it even harder, then again spending 30k EUR more for an all electric with towing hitch would be unreasonable. AFAIK electric cars with usable towing hitch are only the EQC and e-tron. I don't want to pay their silly German image they believe they have.
do DS3 and 2008 run on the same type & brand of tires? Every serious tire comparison reveals noise among many other parameters. And yes, better insulation perhaps...but that's not what I would attribute to the PEUGEOT brand..It is sandwiched between Citroen and DS3 - DS3 being the self-appointed luxury brand of PSA.
@@bjornnyland Indeed...Michelin Pri 4 as in the Excel. So the extra kg hints better sound insulation. Again, after years of PSA driving this is not what this brand got famous for. But then, no reason to complain. Good people can enjoy a quiet ride.
I think you should retake this test as limit function was engaged. My Citröen stops accelerating that fast when car is reaching LIMIT SET. Your limit was only 115 km/h and car can detect accelerating that fast will speed over that limit, so it could reduce amps to prevent this
Yo Björn, this is Björn from Northern Germany, I just love your tests, great job!! Do you have any intentions to test the Aiways U5? Acutally a huge intrest here in the middle of europe ; )

PSA (including Opel) now have a handful of models all with the same drivetrain and battery... Basically rendering all of them useless for me. I need at least 350 reliable kilometers at highway speed for my frequent weekend trips. Why don't they offer an 80 kWh option????
@@homersimpson7916 yes, I would. Although you always read that battery pack prices are now around $150 per kWh. So theoretically, a €5000 higher price for 80 kWh should be feasible

First!
Like a ninja!
I have an 2008 and can confirm it's very very quiet.
Really enjoying this car as it's my first ev, and my wife is also very impressed.
What mileage you can do??
No hand shake in Corona times.
This should have more likes! xD
I'am really happy with this buy, nice price, nice range and good build quality!

208 is good as sekond car, 2008 is more «main-car». 208 is beautiful, 2008 is nice 🤪

Gery Hi Barcelona 🤩. Maybe I will borrow my e 208 to Bjørn, so he can test it again. The yellow one he tested before was an early model...

Aaron Stark Thanks :-) We ordered it in March this year, and got it now. Old i-MiEV had to go 😆
We are getting the e-2008 as our only car - would get both if possible but for us it is really not needed, it would only be “nice to have” 😷

Hello, when will the acceleration and noise test of the Mazda MX-30 come?
I guess the extra weight is soundproofing? Whatever, it's amazing they achieved this in a non-luxury EV, well done Peugeot!

will be a very long test (slow charging...)

Why Sport and B mode for the 0-100? Is it any faster in Sport and D mode?
No, B and D mode is for regen. Has nothing to do with acceleration.
