Gary Busey seems like such a nice guy ...and you can tell that Letterman really likes him. It's like Busey puts Letterman at ease. Busey has a great singing voice, also.
I heard doctors saying hollywood is like highest rate for operations to remove the stuff from the persons head. Not sure the medical term, but they give that procedure a lot in hollywood. Referring to the leftovers from all the craziness he put up his nose
I have to say, reading articles, I always pictured a before-accident Busey and an after-accident Busey, as if to flip a switch. But watching these clips, just as a lay observer, I see *zero* difference in cognitive ability, speech, or physical movements. I'm sure it affected all of these things but to me it is not noticeable. But when you see him now, he does present as cognitively affected; in other words, he *appears* as one might picture a stereotypically brain damaged person. I'm wondering if it was the drug abuse that did him in, or maybe heavy drug abuse in combination with his brain damage.
Wonder why he never did the show after 1992. He fit right in with the show. Sure he was a little eccentric but he never seemed out of it or to out there, he's an original and not afraid to be himself. Thanks for this collection and all the others, you are doing great work Don.
Gary was in a little town called Luther Iowa about 6-7 months ago, i heard he was headed that way but missed him. I love Gary he is so awesome i was really pissed when i missed seeing him in person!
Excellent actor, of course. First time I’ve heard him sing and play an instrument. Without any rehearsal and preparation for that day, playing with the band he’s probably never jammed with and I’m guessing, singing without doing regular voice practice that professionals do, that was outstanding.
Don, one of the special things you do that adds so much value to the painstaking work you do in editing and compiling this entertainment and historical record keeping is that you add little bits to things we would have natural questions to from something that comes up. For example, when Dave showed the grocery cart picture with Robert Duvall, you added the clip from Duvall’s interview explaining it. Fine, fine work. Thank you.
Oh shit - Buesy is rocking out!!!! This was an AWESOME video Don!!! Gary's act was better than charlie's any day. I love how Paul was always with the acts. That's what makes paul great - constantly learning new stuff.
Ah, good, been waiting to see the clip of him singing the Buddy Hollyesque "Stay A Little Longer" since it aired almost thirty years ago! (got a selfie with closer Bernard Fowler at the Stones Shine A Light concert in '07).
Point Break is such an unbelievable movie kind of thing ... when it was mentioned I immediately went to all those side scenes like those paramilitary guys hammering along the vehicle to their quarters where GB is lateron 'looking for small pet' . that is 30 YEARS and I still know it like it was on last week :)
This compilation will be epic. Gary Busey once said "a great way to preserve our water in drought stricken California, is to reuse our PEE to water our vegetable gardens." You know he probably does it.
It might be mindblowing for you to recognize that humans are the ONLY land species dumb enough to waste their nitrogen and mineral/nutrient-loaded urine and feces. EVERY species is evolved to replenish the nutrients in the soil via elimination as part of the billions-of-years-in-the-making symbiosis that is a major role of all animals in the biosphere on lamnd and in water. Oh yeah--this is the internet. Nevermind.
@@johnnyg3681 well, however many... the billions does seem inconceivable to me in actuality....but Im just a dopey animal. What do I know about how long it all took?
"Pee" is high in salt. Salt builds up in soil. Plants hate salt. We might "waste" our waste unlike some animals but not many animals grow crops either.
Don't see why Gary couldn't stay a little longer. Wish Dave had him back, he earned it. I know his movie career sort of went south after this but man was he a great guest. Just another reason why the Late Show wasn't nearly as good as Late Night.
Looking back it is pretty clear that Dave was different on Late Show and obsessed with beating Jay and losing. He started to come back around towards the end.
I got past many minutes. I watched him in Buddy Holly and Straight Time, and later his other movies. I think he was already off the wall before his brain accident. It might have gone the same way without the accident.
Filled his head with "helium and jellybeans! OK, let's get serious... this is a family late-night show" xD xD ... Look, it's hard to go through life carrying multiple realities around in your consciousness. But at least for a while, he seems to have been excellent at it. And SO entertaining. :D
Stay All Night version here is over the top, hard drivin' Rock n' Roll. Love this number, Song starts at 1:37:00 - 1:41:00. Thanks for this one Mr. Busey! Dig It! Miigwich!!!
Gary was a little different, but that's what made him Gary Busey ! But after his Severe Brain injury,( motorcycle accident ), it was obvious that he was changed forever more ! I like to believe when he gets to acting and saying such bizarre things, that he is trying to play off his injury ! Watching him here I think for the first time, I realized what a Mountain of a Man he is ! He played in some great roles ! Peace by on you Brother !
Maybe a lobotomy I don’t buy the motorcycle accident.. he was whacky before and after an amazing actor back in the day he was one of my favourite to watch best bad guy actor of all time 🤘🏼
I JUST came across an episode, yesterday! I grew up with I’m with Busey! There’s full episodes on here, it really is one of the funniest shows ever made...😂
Watches it last year - STILL a good flick but some homophobic stuff could be taken out - Busey's first scene is VERY racist. Those 3 things should be cut. Otherwise it was STILL a fun picture. Max Gail & Mr T for the win!!!
They did alot to him behind the scenes, they tortured this man after he was outspoken about the buddy holly story.. smh such an amazing man I can only imagine what hed be like if they didn't mess him up. Shame
When he said "🗣 YEAUH 🗣" I felt that
53:49 i was looking for his voice crack and i found it😂😂😂
Thank youuu 😂😂 i was searching for it too
I watched it like 20 times! Surreal.
I just spent about 15 minutes looking too 😂😂😂 sped past it like 5x
You are a legend
Goofy ahhh voice crack
This is confirmation that Gary was a lunatic in the very best way even before the injury. What a talent; acting, comedy, music, the whole deal.
@@prototek100 exactly
@@prototek100 Lol!
Your comment just shows how ordinary and boring you are.
My buddy and I just searched for this video after having a convo saying EXACTLY what you said. Perfectly said 🎉
His brain injury damaged the portion of his brain that acts as a filter and controls impulses...plus, he was a huge cokehead
God, Gary is so fast on his feet. So charming. Amazing actor and genuine person. Just love Gary.
Gary Busey seems like such a nice guy ...and you can tell that Letterman really likes him. It's like Busey puts Letterman at ease. Busey has a great singing voice, also.
What gave you that idea? The fact he always had him on his show
is it weird that at 80 i kinda have a little girl crush on him? yikes
HIM bring 80 not me lol
being
I love his entrances! I think Gary is great. This is a sweet collection, thank you.
Gary Busey is an international treasure. I've always loved listening to him, and he's awesome on film.
Oh okay, he was weird even before the accident.
Yeah, but the accident , combined with his cocaine overdose in the 90’s did enough damage to change him from a little weird to bat shit crazy
I heard doctors saying hollywood is like highest rate for operations to remove the stuff from the persons head. Not sure the medical term, but they give that procedure a lot in hollywood.

Why be normal when you can be yourself
No he was just a goofball tbh after his injury his goofiness turned serious lol

Thank you for all these great compilations, so entertaining 🌷🌷🌷🌷
We love you Gary. Enjoy your movies and your a great actor. Legend.

Gary Busey is an American institution. The man will be remembered as an absolute legend.
Excellent actor, of course. First time I’ve heard him sing and play an instrument. Without any rehearsal and preparation for that day, playing with the band he’s probably never jammed with and I’m guessing, singing without doing regular voice practice that professionals do, that was outstanding.
Man gary busey is a very good underrated actor
He is good at acting almost insane like in Under Siege

I’ve always been a fan of Gary Busey. He’s a super talented man. He’s not crazy.....we are.
I can provide evidence by stating:authentic expression
No, he is
..yup, ..same
"How am I doing today, Gary Busey? You're doing great! Good! Then I'll keep it up!"
Heck yeah he's great, a rare gem
LOL. I remember seeing that Family Guy clip before I knew who Gary Busey was and I was like what the fuck
Such a natural funny storyteller just watched Garry in the buddy Holly story that's what brought me here love this guy
Oh shit - Buesy is rocking out!!!! This was an AWESOME video Don!!! Gary's act was better than charlie's any day. I love how Paul was always with the acts. That's what makes paul great - constantly learning new stuff.
He's genuine....I just am now reading his book.
Ah, good, been waiting to see the clip of him singing the Buddy Hollyesque "Stay A Little Longer" since it aired almost thirty years ago!

I love how it went from a 600 pound black bear to a 750 pound brown bear between appearances.
I hear it was a 1000 pound polar bear.
I've enjoyed Gary Busey since Teddy Jack Eddy days, he's a BLAST from the Past
Love Gary!!! What a guy!!!!
53:52 Bro turned into Goofy
😂😂
great work as always
Don't see much of a difference in his behavior from his earlier videos before the accident. He seems naturally eccentric lol.
Gotta love Gary!... he is an amazingly big-hearted fun guy!! A rebel with a cause!
Why he wasn’t so much on TV show???
He is naturally funny ,hilarious and very interesting to hear his stories!

@@clockworkpanda8 Gary Busey knew what he was talking about when he spoke of using urine on crops. If you Google it, you'll find he was correct.

Busey is such a great personality, 10/10 in entertainment value, he's so unpredictable!
Gary has a good attitude about life
HIGH DOLLAR BOP!! Priceless!! ;] GARY BUSEY is The MAN!!
Thank you
What a great song....
One of the best who can play the villain really good.
What a character, I bet he was a hoot to party with!
Yes! And he liked his cocaine too!

So cool of him to mention Dr. Franco Columbo, Mr. Olympia. When he was competing he was kind of overshadowed by Arnold what's his name.
53:50 for anyone here for the funny voice crack
I got past many minutes. I watched him in Buddy Holly and Straight Time, and later his other movies.

Very good actor, Shame he lost it a bit after the accident
Thaaaaank you
Gary Busey is a national treasure.
The commerical flips by paul absolutely killed me
I got to teach his first jump skydiving course and he's just an amazing person. Intense and funny
You guys should watch this TV show he did with some young guy called Adam. Was very funny. It's called I'm with Busey
He wore a grey jacket and black shirt three years in a row after his accident. Interesting
"Mutant Birthday Clown" opens this Friday at a theater near you.
So he had an eccentric personality even before the injury
Gary was a little different, but that's what made him Gary Busey !

When he appears in the Yellow jacket he seems to have an Aileen Wournos Aura.
Right outta the gate when Busey gets uncomfortable and turns his chair. 😂 It's like watching a David Mamet play.
The Legend that is....Gary Busey!!! ❤
Super good dude... funny, but real. Still always had quirks.
Loved gary in D.C Cab
Hes such a good guy to be around
I used to love eye of the tiger as a kid
Gary is one of my favorite insane people..."embryonic gestures of extraplanetary animals"
In fairness to Charlie, it is a little odd to demand that a sixth person sit in on a jazz quintet.
True. The terms should have been spelled out long before he had agreed to appear so that he could have cancelled much earlier.
Love Gary Busey!!!
He’s hilarious here.
I loved "Silver Bullet".
hey there don, would you happen to have chris elliot's 'fdr: a one man show' in your collection?
I do.
That was so horrible when he had that motocycle accident. He was never the same again. The worlds loss.😓😥
Enjoy listening n watching Mr. Gary B. His humor is exciting, joyful, cute, fun.....maybe greater thzn Norm M.
I think the crash may have helped him
It’s hard to believe that he is older than letterman
Maybe a lobotomy I don’t buy the motorcycle accident.. he was whacky before and after an amazing actor back in the day he was one of my favourite to watch best bad guy actor of all time 🤘🏼
Does anyone remember the I’m With Busey show?
I JUST came across an episode, yesterday! I grew up with I’m with Busey! There’s full episodes on here, it really is one of the funniest shows ever made...😂
Random question. Is the background behind them an actual city? Or just a mock up.
The latter, though there are some identifiable NYC buildings.
Now kiddies pay attention, to the way gary is on the first show, now you can say it's a helluva drug . 😏
I loved him in the Stephen King movie.
The hair slick back at 2:03 damn 80’s GB was so sexy
I think his brain answered both questions at the same time
He was great in lethal weapon and silver bullet
Love DC Cab...

what song is this who knows the name where gary busey sang on guitar saved
Nobody reads my descriptions.
he sorta reminds me of Mr Niedermeyer. oddly enough Dee Snider was also on the Apprentice lol
01:39:11 "...galz down in Tulsa they get half-grown they jump ohn a man like a dog ohn a bone.."
Busey played the last guy killed on the show "Gunsmoke".
What about the buttered sausage...?
GARY a true good human before and after his accident. He hit BUDDY 100% and did all the tunes himself that's GENIUS.
Had no idea Gary Busey was such a huge dude.
Graças a Gary Busey foi lançado o incrível filme do nosso rei do Rock BODDY HOLLY
That rabbit story was great
Is that coke that makes him like that? or is that pure Gary Busey?
03:29
He’s imitating a future version of himself.
He's like a mix of Jeff Goldblum and Robin Williams.
