Great idea. I just re inked my black. I am going to ink the new stamp pad with the old pad and transfer as much ink as I can first. Great timing I needed to get a new black.❤❤❤🎉
Great Idea ..I have always done this with my distress inks when they have worn out 😁I did not have a black distress pad so I inked an old pale yellow one with black distress re-inker
What I like about this idea is that our regular stamp pads are easy to open and handle without getting ink on our fingers. In removing or replacing the Momento lid I always get ink on my fingers and often don’t realize it until I’ve ruined something I’m working on. I like this idea a lot and will give this a try! Thank you!
Hi Tricia, yes this is the main thing I like too, bigger and much easier to do. I am afraid to do it with the stazon because that really needs to be air tight when it closes. Hugs, Di
Hi Tracy, yes the more you use them the easier they get for sure. If you have one that is super hard you can always contact SU! and let them know. Hugs, Di @@tracylee4442
I like this idea! My Memento Tuxedo Black is the pad I use daily and the linen is wearing out. I am having threads coming out the side. I may give this pad idea a try. I do like the way the foam pads ink the stamp ad they stamp so well. Thanks!
Fabulous idea thank you. I am also a visual learner. I just found you and have now subscribed. Looking forward to future videos! I am from British Columbia, Canada
Thanks so much, I am used to the foam because of the other pads, but also over time since I used my memento so much I would get some linen threads coming up off the pad. Hugs, Di
I appreciate this tip, and I know that I’m in the minority here, but I hate Stampin Up pads! They are extremely hard to open, put in place to use and closing it is a real pain. I get ink all over my hands whenever I use them. Any other ink pad is better than SU pads.
I have been wondering, you know how people do the baby wipe technique? That seems like it’s so wasteful with the re inkers. Could we use a plain pad with color combos we know we would reuse, and have the same effect?
Hi Tracy, since this pad is solid the colors would just mingle and get muddy. We used to have a kaleidacolor pad that had separate pads in one that you clicked together when you wanted to use it and that was neat. Did you see how I mixed some colors on my glass mat the other day? That did not waste a lot of ink. Hugs, Di
I did this years ago. It wasn’t my idea, but right after SU started shipping the white pads without ink another demonstrator had a video on this idea. I started using it right away. These ideas are recycled over and over.
HI Lois, yes I am sure they are. I had never seen or heard of this, so as soon as I heard it from Kevin Theesen and Melissa Winko I made my pad right away and had people asking me about it, so I did the video. Hugs, Di
Hi Kelly, I did not use a whole lot, it was not a full bottle at all to begin with. Just put a small amount in and spread it around, and add more as needed. Hugs, Di
Hi Judy, this is easier to open and makes a bigger pad, I was always getting ink on my hands taking the lid on and off of the regular pad, it is just an idea and I wanted to share it once I learned it. Hugs, Di
I am not a fan of these types of pads. Lol. Most are so hard to open (the white one you are using now for black). Thanks for the explanation as to why. Always open to new ideas. Appreciate you sharing! Never know when one person’s idea works for another. I myself think these pads are a pain in the butt to open. 🤷♀️lol
Hi Jennifer you can order one in my store. Hugs, Di Supply List: Uninked Stampin' Pad & Whisper White Refill [147277] - Price: $10.50 - msb.im/25Ka Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Refill [133456] - Price: $5.50 - msb.im/25Kb
And it stacks nicely with other Stampin Up pads. And less likely to get black ink on you by taking the lid on and off. I must be careful with the lid, I get black ink on me often. I have to clean up the original black ink pad case and lid. 💎
Hi Lizzy, I find this is great, I can put as much reinker in it as I want and the pad is bigger and I don't have to mess with putting the lid on and off. Hugs, Di
Yikes! I absolutely, respectfully, wholeheartedly disagree!! I was so dismayed that stampin' up stoppped producing their black ink pad and traded for a linen felt memento pad. It always bows in the middle and dries out SUPER quick.. I will take foam pads ANY day. 😊
THANK YOU! This is life changing! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks Sue, such a brilliant idea! Hugs, Di
Whoever came up with this idea is brilliant. Why had I not that of this before????
Hi Tammy, I know right? Hugs, Di
Thanks for this great tip Diana
Hi Sharie, you are so welcome. Hugs, Di
Great idea. I just re inked my black. I am going to ink the new stamp pad with the old pad and transfer as much ink as I can first. Great timing I needed to get a new black.❤❤❤🎉
Hi Ginger, I think that should work and then just use the old one till it gets too low as well. Hugs, Di
Brilliant idea Diana. Always looking for crafty tips to make things simpler.
Hi Donna, totally me too. Hugs, Di
What a great tip, thank you!! Now I'll have a reinker for my white craft pad plus a memento black pad that works well. Thank you!
Yes you sure will. Hugs, Di
Thanks so much for this idea !
Great Idea ..I have always done this with my distress inks when they have worn out 😁I did not have a black distress pad so I inked an old pale yellow one with black distress re-inker
Oh that is a great idea as well, thanks so much! Hugs, Di
I love this, and also love your joyful energy!

That’s funny, I think stampin up pads are hard to open. But I am wondering if they get easier over time. I may just need to use mine more…?

Watching play! Love te to about the Memento ink pad! Now I need to order the white pad!
Hi Nell, yes for sure. Hugs, Di
Great idea. Do you notice a difference between the linen and foam pads in the way they stamp?
Thanks so much, I am used to the foam because of the other pads, but also over time since I used my memento so much I would get some linen threads coming up off the pad. Hugs, Di
Thank you! Awesome!
Thanks Blair! Hugs, Di

Hi Cindy, thanks so much for your opinion, everyone has their favorites. This works for me, and I know the more I use them the easier it is. Hugs, Di

Very cleaver!

Can you share roughly how much of your reinker you used to fill the pad? 1\4???? Thanks for a great idea.
Hi Kelly, I did not use a whole lot, it was not a full bottle at all to begin with. Just put a small amount in and spread it around, and add more as needed. Hugs, Di
Is the blank pad, a foam or linen pad?
Hi Connie, the blank pad is a foam pad. Hugs, Di
Please explain why you would do this. I don’t see why. Thank you!
Hi Judy, this is easier to open and makes a bigger pad, I was always getting ink on my hands taking the lid on and off of the regular pad, it is just an idea and I wanted to share it once I learned it. Hugs, Di

Hi Belinda, so glad you are joining us. Hugs, Di
What is the advantage???
Hi Angie, it makes it a bigger pad, and I don't have to mess with putting the lid on and off. Hugs, Di

oh yes perfectly stacks, and yes no more inky fingers taking the lid off and on. Hugs, Di @@blingblingcrafter.
Those foam pads are awful! Give me a linen pad any day!!!!
Hi Lizzy, I find this is great, I can put as much reinker in it as I want and the pad is bigger and I don't have to mess with putting the lid on and off. Hugs, Di
You could use one of the blank ink spots which I believe are felt.
Yes it would be just teeny tiny. Hugs, Di @@kelliaustin3545
