Lastly, knockouts are a fundamental part of these sports and I make a lot of videos about this type of victory.

That second to last ref should never step in an octagon again. It was clear that the fighter was out. That was beyond a late stoppage, the dude nearly died. If there was any serious injury to that fighter the ref should be charged

Both the fighter and the ref were to blame. The ref was garbage evrybody can agree on that. But the fighter couldve landed a small punch just to satisfy that dumb referee but he kicked a down man. But again i dont know what country is this or what competition it is so maybe it is acceptable to kick a man down in that competition. But in my eyes that was disgusting.

Yeah I agree it was super excessive but he was obviously heated as fuck and really mad at the ref, who basically was telling him: it's not over until I say now come here and hit this man! And yeah he definitely should not have run up and punted him that was not cool but I'm sure he was just really pissed off in the moment and was like to the referee here is this what you want!?!?!!??
With some of these, it's also the failure of the corner to throw in the towel. #6 was a great example. The losing fighter was getting walloped, sure, but he was still moving and conscious, and a ref may feel like he's taking away a fighter's chance stopping the fight when a fighter is still active and hasn't given up yet, despite how badly he's losing. That's when the corner needs to make the decision for their fighter, because they know he can't win, and they need to do their job to protect him from further damage.
Every one of these refs should be fired. The amount of long term damage they've probably been responsible for is insane.

@Chris Wyatt Are you a fighter? I have been and the thought of someone having me in a choke hold for 90 seconds after I've passed out or the ref pushing my apponent to continue hitting me after I'm knocked out terrifies me.
Im disappointed these refs were not put on blast by name by the video editor. Most of these were horrible cases of incompetence and the names of the refs are published with the fight results...
i dont think that the 5th ref should. to me it looked like he tried to get in as fast as he could after the KO, bu the fighter just recognised his opponent was out and stopped
1st. The UFC can't fire refs they are supplied by the athletic commission. (Steve mazigati, and Mario yamazaki are great examples of this.)
2nd. You want them to fire big john McCarthy? Widley accepted as one of the best refs in the sport or in general.

The Cotto/Pacquiao ref was not that bad, Cotto was clearly still boxing.
Pacquiao not wanting to hurt him just led to him taking more punishment. The ref should only stop it when he has to, and Pacquiao wasn't making him have to stop the fight he was going easy and seemed afraid to move in.
@@TBDF12 true that also the case when Manny fought Margarito clearly Paquiao thought Margarito had enough and he doesn't like to continue the onslaught although Margarito seemed fine and able to finishes the fight but unfortunately the damage ended his career.

Koto is still bad ass. It was hard for me on the fight. Two of my favorite fighters.
After like 15 seconds of me feeling my opponent go limp I would of released regardless of what the idiot ref was saying, I wouldn't of waited two minutes to release. The fighter probably released pressure during the first 60 seconds and was just holding the guy.

That's the thing, these guys are doing their best but it's an insanely difficult job.
3:52 the downed fighter was getting up and if the ref stopped it while he was getting up people would have went nuts and said it was rigged. He did look dazed and moving slow so he probably was out and running on auto-pilot. Good stoppage in my opinion. Not too early or too late. The last undefended punch sealed it.

I feel like the dude at number 2 released some of the choke pressure after he realized the dude was out, because few can stay conscious after 10 seconds with no blood to the brain and that choke was in for over 90 seconds which could have very easily done a lot of permanent damage or killed him

Takanori Gomi was the top ranked lightweight out of Pride and we've seen him endure worse punishment. Herb was probably pretty shocked to see Gomi get Taken out by Lauzon.

Nice vid, but to be fair, is not always easy to tell if the guy is unable to keep fighting.
For a couple of these the words "knocked out" or "out" seem to be used to mean in no position to continue. They were still conscious but i agree the ref should stop them.
