This concept of accepting what is partly reminds me of when Godly people say to God: "It's in Your hands. Your will be done"
Instead of feeling that WE have to work to control what comes in our life we leave it up to God. I know there's more to it than that, but it's what stood out for me this video :)
You do wonderful videos and your concepts are very well spoken which make it easier for me to follow, thank you!

The biggest challenge for many is simply being your authentic self in a society that wants you to be someone else. People project their own insecurities onto others instead of dealing with their own feelings of inadequacy.
Equally irritating is the tendency for outsiders to presume to know what we are thinking and feeling. Very bizarre.

Love it, what you said about hearing from the heart, letting go of ego-based and/or outdated goals, and receiving from source!
We are given gifts, raw materials and ingredients to work with. If we receive graciously, and keep listening, appreciating even those items, messages, and opportunities we do not yet understand, we can have optimal abilities at our fingertips as things change and arise.

Its funny that every story we are told reflects the hero's journey which is basically the protagonist learning this very thing. Weather they actually know it or not the audience is always picking up this message. You have desires and then you have true character needs, your life is a story and you just haven't made it to your character arc yet, when you realize what the need is. Humans really can't create anything but what we are. Its pretty dope!

I just found this video of yours in a falling in love with you mode and had to laugh because I´m more less having this question in my head already for few years.. amazing how clearly and simply you can put it all, with all the wisdom to not offend anybody (so more people can actually take advantage of it) and beautiful compassion. It´s really nice to watch you and listen to you... Right back to the point ;) - thank you for sharing this points of view, for me it gave me a way better understanding...

“We had to teach the despairing men, that it did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life-daily and hourly. Our answer must consist, not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfil the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual.” Viktor Frankl.

What a great question..I have long struggled with when to put forth effort towards a goal and when to back off and let go. JP you absolutely nailed it!! what a great point that this is a struggle for balance and a worthy struggle..that there is a time and place for both
Also-great point to not only look beneath our passion to what the more basic need and where it is coming from, but also to not sweat that we may get lost in our egos and in a dream...that the creation of our dream, that getting lost, is part of the process of going beyond our ego wants to much greater fulfillment than feeding the perpetually hungry ghost of ego. At some point all egos tire of the constant battle to control EVERYTHING and are silenced long enough to see the big picture. Brilliant JP!!!

Amazing advice JP. Is getting me to see where I totally cocked up in the past! I was in such a rush to achieve my grandiose dreams and ended up wanting to escape the present moment so much that I ended up making myself ill. Also, it ended up being very lucky that I did not achieve my original dreams as it was something that came from ego and indeed would have been very destructive to myself had I achieved it. It feels like divine intervention or whatever you may want to call it and now have been set on a different path that I hadn't quite expected. I don't know where it will lead but what you say about serendipity is getting me to think there may indeed be something that is greater at work and that I must trust this process and be in the moment whilst also having one eye on achieving my purpose that will come from listening to my heart rather than my ego this time. Your advice on finding that balance sounds wise. Thank you!

I had to go through a breakdown to finally face this question. I venn diagrammed my life. What I'm good at, what makes me happy, what is valuable (monetary, contentment, approval). Some japanese thing. It was hard to accept what came of it because I had to let go of what I thought was my passion but actually was just a way for me to show (my parents, the world) that I am worthy (of love, of not being abandoned, of promotions). I don't know if the things I found out as my authentic dreams will feed the child in me, but... it is truer to who I am.

Does anyone truly have "control" over life? Is what we view as "control" really just a momentary harness? Is true wisdom about accepting the momentary nature of that harness and overcoming the fear of not being "in control"? In life nothing lasts forever. So what I like to believe gives human life a purpose is our ability to treat it as a process to be enjoyed as just that, a process that we shape in part by dreaming. Dreaming belongs to the process, a relationship with life. Do I deny facing myself or do I accept myself as someone flawed yet at the same time someone with strengths? Understanding one's weakness is part of one's strength. *Self-articulation detracts from absolutely nobody as long as it is healthy and demands no money, no fame, no power nor legacy outside simply being functional.* No matter what origin, age, gender or race, everyone has the basic right to achieve that balance in their lives. Sharing it in return demands empathetic reciprocity which we either have or do not have.
    Just my two cents. ;)

Something I hope helps: "There is no failure. There is only an opportunity to learn and try again in a new way." This is why we keep repeating experiences of failure over and over again: rejection of the value of failure in the process of learning. We have to fail in order to get to success. There is no such thing as a success that has no path through failure.
      Well said, JP!

You really have to hang in to about the middle important stuff dreams are created and sometimes must be let go of through acceptance without feeling like a quitter. However sometimes you just win the lotto when you move on and stop being a slave to your dreams and focus more on the law of attraction more. Right JP? Ok maybe 50/50. Either way moving on allows us to stop beating ourselves up in failure. Legacy? You can not take it with you, so to speak. I did leave a brief odor that lingered for an impressive amount of time in a room once which impacted people for ever one time. I myself now in this moment feel complete. Feel good people regardless of what people think but do it with kindness and respect. Digest things before you return thoughts to people. This alone makes you appear wise even if you are not. Also never get mad or react to mean comments, this is a great way to confuse provokers, provoking them to anger without release, hilarious. Good times. Act like you love everyone even though you are secretly mad at them. Plot their demise to your higher power daily. Laugh as the world as they know it collapses around them in your mind. Or just let it all go and move on, your choice. Moving on is a term like own it. What is it. It is half of a word and a word in and of itself. It is you or the stuff that is basically a big pile of it inside of us we carry. Some call it emotional baggage. Got it? Once you get it, all of the stuff you feel or things bothering you right now will just go away. Hard to believe right, well so is getting that little word it. Once you do begin to get it man life is good, really good and you just sit back and say, this is it.

JP to answer Toto Spiritgirl, and I knew this would happen as an obvious progression to learning. I was going to address her, if I may, for you as I am sure you like Santa right now are very busy reading all of the responses to your vids. Which by the way both he and I really like. So to help, I too felt, "What Now?" After I got it. This is normal, no need for immediate or radical action. Like the uncomfortable anxiety of a roller coaster ride when it drops you suddenly, like a feeling of uncertainty. Your mind frightened now says,"I have to do something!" Change requires outward action, after acceptance, right? Wrong. Rather than sitting there brainstorming about what to do. Just do. It and do are good friends but after a Nike lawsuit and an ugly restraining order It and do we separated. Once you get it, secretly bring do and it together again. If Just is in the house too, uh ohhh look out!

“Accepting what is” means admitting to your true feelings which can be really uncomfortable. I believe it’s the first step to self healing, then questioning society beliefs and norms. For Many people it is difficult to question themselves, especially when the masked inflated self image is not real. Questioning the social beliefs is uncomfortable and painful. Especially when it means revealing the truth and dealing with consequences. People would rather accept status quo and not question their authority, get a promotion and be safe. That’s the majority of people. It’s really sad.

so what you're saying at some point here, is that we have to know what we don't like/want in order to find what rings more true to us? What if we always knew what we wanted and life has just kept taking you down the wrong path? That's been so frustrating for me. I mean I understand some of what I've learned along the way has been very eye opening, but I just don't want to be constantly misguided.

also, I'm just curious to know, like when you talk about accepting what is, what do you do after? Like how do you make decisions, based on what? Because you obviously need your ego and some people do well even when they fulfill their ego's desires, and I realize that this world is beyond most of our comprehension, so that means even though I may not like it, some people's methods are still acceptable, but maybe not acceptable for me personally. So how do I accept that I have wounds that need healing and still find a direction and purpose to my life? What do I trust and respond to?

  • @superfluityme
    @superfluityme 4 года назад +1

I like JP's video's but this one is a bit short on reality. The first mistake is answering the question as is. The question is wrong so answering the question as it is presented will be wrong. Either or, is too narrow a question when wanting to apply the answer to the reality of our situation. There is a tendency in spirituality to paint the ego as separate which is also wrong. Have you ever heard someone be virtuous of the ego? The ego is part of us it's not separate if you vilify the ego you vilify yourself which is not accepting of self. If we ourselves are on a journey of growth we are all on a journey of growth so asking a question that does not relate to others or is answered only from the point of view of within does not root ourselves in the world we live in. All answers have to relate to the internal and the external; it may sound enlightened, but, is anything that can't relate to our reality enlightened? When making our way in the world no matter how good or how balanced we want to be if the outside world is pushing at us and we don't push back we get run over so the (ego) (ourself) has to push back or our boundaries are crossed and we will feel weakened. Assertiveness is required as isolation or separation from people not like us is not growth it is retreat so if we want to complete our goals if we want to truly grow we have to accept the ego and push forward. Accepting what is is pointless. Accepting what is is the same as being any other animal on the planet it falls short of our individual potential. Finding out who we are and what we can do is finding ourselves, accepting what is is denying us of ourselves. There is no balance between pursuing passion and accepting what is. There is only one way or the other if you start to pursue your passion you have to commit if you stop and tell yourself I have to limit myself so I can fell humble in the universe by allowing things to be you cannot succeed at your passion. As JP questioned; What is driving you to want that passion? Is it for status or to tell someone else see told you I could do it or is it sincere in wanting to produce something good for the world and ourselves?

superfluityme I think this is bang on. The reasons driving you are important. If you do it for the wrong ones, one day you’ll find that you wasted a lot of years trying to impress people or do something acceptable and resent yourself for it. MAKE SURE you are doing it for a greater cause or because you truly love it; that will sustain you through the inevitable bumps along the way.

    JP,
Not to fuel your ego, but you are awesome man! Would be interested in some videos directed toward becoming a conscious MAN. Not many men (esp on youtube) who are consciously connected to themselves (physically, mentally, emotionally, sexually, and spiritually) to the point that they have been able to balance their own masculine energies with true vulnerability and honesty. I am actively trying to navigate the male psyche and energies in my own development to become the best, most authentic man (human) I can become with these resources. Would be interested in your experiences on this personal growth and spiritual journey as a male, in a "spiritual" world dominated by females. Does being a man bring any specific challenges to the table? In a world where men are foolishly expected to be "macho" and "hard" what does the authentic conscious man look like, and how do we navigate the path toward this? Thank you for being honest and humble with yourself and sharing what you have learned.
    -Connor

As a young person I always dreamt and wished for everyone to be equal and happy and never be in need.
Now as an old fart or older fart I say screw everybody else just leave me alone and let me be happy and not be in need.
It's too bad people always want Power and people can't get along with one another. that has always been the biggest pain on my Soul even as a small child.

    I have accepted two facts.
    I'm a complete fool
    And
    Others don't deserve this title.

A lot of people get called a fool, but they haven't earned it yet, or they are not yet a complete fool.

What do you do when ever dream gets stomped in the dirt, and you have been isolated so long that when you try to connect you just get waved off for money.

Hallo JP, thank you a lot. But I cannot believe you, why? Because I have a couple of examples in my environment. that "surrendered" to a higher purpose and are waiting for something to attract them. At the end they lived not necessarily a bad life but not a life I strive for. On the other hand I push hard to reach my goals, slipping here and there but going back and life gets harder and harder.. Any suggestions?
