The way your husband turns pages immediately triggered memories of my dad reading books to my siblings and me when we were little 🥰 Thank you so much for all you do! As a teacher myself, your videos relax my mind after long days at school, and the nostalgia is such a comfort, too. ❤
That's a good memory! For me it was I think usually mother reading to us before bed - father turning book pages for me is instead usually him with a book of philosophy or a scientific magazine in bed, often falling asleep even before us. 😅 He's never been much for fiction, though there are a couple distinct exceptions so I do recall him at some point reading to us some short stories by one of his favourite authors. Overall it's, for me, kind of a comfort place, too, though; I loved going to the library as a child, and was capable of spending possibly hours there at one point, and there was a librarian who always seemed to have read at least one of the books in my selection, as good librarians are wont to be. 😉 But unlike the "us" character here, I was often making use of renewals. 😃
I have had asmr my whole life..I remember vividly the sound of pages turning and plastic crinkles when I would visit my Aunt who was a librarian in my small hometown. It always described it felt like I could feel my hair growing...your videos always make me a little homesick for those sweet and unencumbered days of childhood. You remind me of her ..a lot. Your hands look like hers.
Oh wow! What a way to put it!!!! You are exactly right. 💚 I think you have single-handedly figured out a way to describe a sensation that has been indescribable for so long. ✨✨✨ Thank you.
This is so wonderful and feels nostalgic. I love the crackling sounds of the plastic ‘jackets’ on the library books 📚 I definitely experienced ASMR at my library when growing up. The librarians would always speak in a hushed voice and be so gentle when handling the books and stamping them. Happy times 😊
What a delightful debut for Mr. Meridian! The turned cuffs look very handsome on him, and he clearly paid attention to what makes for a good trigger. Your portion, especially with the book jackets, of course was stellar. You never miss, it's always so relaxing. And I love that cute flower ring!
I was born in the mid 60s so I’m a 70s kid and this is so spot on. I could have lived in the library, it was my favorite place. For some reason yes the checking out stamping of the book was just everything. I also remember in college that I would go to study but I found my thoughts drifting off whenever someone rolled the cart by me and started restocking books on the shelves. It was almost like a lullaby or meditative feeling. Little did I know 30 or 40 years later, this feeling would actually become a known thing ASMR which I just learned existed a few days ago. Discovering I’m not the only kid who felt all these sensations makes me feel almost vindicated. I could never talk about it cause I thought I was some freak or something. I’m also in a vintage group and dress mostly from the 40s till early 60s and just discovered your channel. To say I’m happy is an understatement 😂. Amazing! Thank you!!
@@MidModMeridianASMR yes! I’m so lucky. Here in Dallas Texas. Some women only dress vintage for events we go to. Others dress most of the time this way, just depends. I do a hybrid. I always full dress for events. Hanging in my house it’s sweats 😆 but I live alone. If I were married I’d be a bit less casual. But if I run to the store or something I at least wear a skirt and blouse with flats and like a scarf or something to glam up a little. I went to a grocery store after church once and I had full hat and stockings and shoes etc and the 20 year old guy checking out my groceries asked to take a picture with me 😆 he was so sweet! I usually dress 40s but I love all the eras right up to when I was born in 1964. The clothes I grew up with in the 70s 😬 😩 but eh, to each his own 😆
From 1971 - 1973 I worked in my high school library during free periods. These videos really take me back. I used to get mesmerized by the librarian flipping through the card sorter and inserting new cards in the catalog drawers. I truly miss the card catalogs.
THIS is the one I've been waiting for! I remember as a child the quietness of the library. The breathless anticipation as I waited for the sound of the plastic cover, the sliding book, and the pleasant beep. Then the stacking sounds. I didn't know then that it was ASMR. ❤❤❤
I love the sounds of page turning/paper! They're possibly my favourite ones in your videos. I practically know by heart your Travel Agency and Flamingo Hotel videos because I have watched them so many times. Those maps and the TripTik are something else! The crinkly record book in the perfume counter is another favourite, but this most recent video of yours is rapidly climbing to the top! I can almost feel the books, so immersive!
I’ll work on getting more paper back into my videos. I used to do it much more in earlier videos. I think it’s time for Sylvia, the secretary, to come back for a visit.
Miss Mid Mod--- your historical props are THE VERY BEST! Takes me back in time. I am a 65 yr old guy, yet I STILL love your very soft female voice, AND, I confess that even your Tupperware and Avon videos weirdly soothe me. Don't ask why, I have no clue. I think the DILIGENCE of your Preparation in your semi historical videos, of ASMR, rank among the BEST available anywhere. I publicly thank you for your very apparent efforts in your production. BRAVO Miss Mod Meridian! Onward and Upward in your presentations! Life ONCE was like this. Yes it WAS!!! *SIGH*
Your attention to all the little details is just fantastic. I had the same owl necklace in 1972😊 Thank you Mr Meridian for helping out with the video 😊
I had an owl necklace in 72 as well, but it was a macrame owl I made, it was awful, and its forever memorialized in my 3rd grade school photo! I guess owls were in that year!😆
When I was young Librarians were angels. I would get tingles and goose bumps when getting help from them, or checking out a book. I’d want the checking out part to be 15 minutes long, instead of five. As a kid my mother would take my sister and I to the public library. Just the memory of what libraries were brings a nostalgic comfort. The card catalog. Also when I was in school I could always find the school library a pleasant and calming place to go, even a refuge in HS where I could have a respite and read a book.
How fun that your husband participated! I miss the quiet of old-school libraries. So many today are noisy. Thanks for creating a retro library experience for us, Sherri (and Mr. Sherri). 😁
Whenever we moved, the 1st thing my husband did was take our boys to the library & introduce them to the librarian. "They will be spending a lot of time here after school & on weekends." That was before computers took over. I miss those days when our family were voracious readers.
Thank you Sherri for another exceptional video. The sights, sounds, props, jewelry and debut of hubby, oh my! I hope you have him as a returning guest. 💖💖💖
Thank you, dewdrop. 🥰🥰 Not sure if he’ll be back or not. He was quite nervous about it. 😂 But my 35 year old niece is dying to guest star (it’s just that we live five hours apart, so not so easy to do), and I think I’ve talked my 85-year old dad into making an appearance. 🥹🤭🥰
Stunning as always 😊😊 I've watched asmr for a while but your channel has something truly special to it. The set work is always immaculate and I absolutely love it, and the sounds themselves are so perfectly balanced. You have such a nice soft-spoken voice and accent too. I love that your husband was in this one, so sweet!!
Used to love the library cards and stamps at my middle school in the late 70s and how the librarian would pull the card from the book and put it into the pitch in the draw, it made my scalp tingle and to this day I thought I was weird but realise alot of people use this to relax! 😊
Yeah, it was nice having two different sources of sound. Not sure I can talk him into doing it again, though. He was soooo nervous and was afraid he was going to do something wrong lolol.
Another wonderful video. I've been watching asmr for years, but your videos are just the perfect tempo and your voice is so soothing, that you are without a doubt my favourite. I'm still waiting for your subs to skyrocket like you deserve.
I’m from Alabama, and your accent is so wonderful to me. Your voice and mannerisms just speak “southern charm”. If you’re from out west, then forgive me for how off I am 😂😂. Regardless, wonderful channel; I just discovered you by chance tonight and am on my 3-4 video.
