I'd like to say thank you for this video. I always liked corsairs but I never had an inspiration to play them, thinking they were just boats. Well today I saw your video and immediately jumped into my f4u4b (which to my surprise, had a talisman by some random crate). First ever game with this corsair, completely stock; followed your directions vaguely and destroyed a yak15, an re2005, a he162 and a k4. I now adore this plane, ty for the chance and I hope I can play w you someday.
will definitely be staying tuned for that 152 action. Been getting really good results with the 152C recently. a 2-man of 152s is incredibly strong against f2gs that _will_ just stall for you thinking they're about to get just another easy kill
Whenever I see a ta in my f2g I just resign myself to my fate and dive to try get a kill before I die. It is ridiculous how good that thing is, but it suffers in the repair department
This is the mf plane that keeps outclimbing me, out speeding me, out gunning me and out turning me when I'm stuck with a german team of 288's in my poor pasta shooting G.56. Grinding through 6.0 for my first jets was genuinely the worst time I had in the entire game, constantly mixed with the axis with only bombers and against some of the sweatiest prop players I have ever seen. Even after over 100 games of constant uptiers of 8.7 to 9.7 jets I still do better there than in the wretched wastes of 6.0 props.
Coming back WT in 2022 is kinda nice but also a huge pain, it is sad that prop RB turned into mixed RB bullshitery, I miss the old matchmaking where it is basically constantly historical lineups, loved playing the pacific maps as the Japanese and US, taking off and landing on carriers was a lovely time but i didn’t have a single one of those matches in the last month i was playing again and that’s just sad
Yep. That was prime WT era. It’s still a fun game, but back then, those “historical” matches were my original attraction to the game. It is kind of a shame.
The Xbox exclusive VMF version is the exact same but 0.3 BR lower so you do not need to face the nasty low BR jets. I own it and it's very, very competitive
Hu... pretty much just skipped my french corsair cause I liked the Wildcat so much. Also have you played the A21RB? It turns a really fun prop into an odd jet that can work or you can almost rip your wings flying level.
In the amount of time i played this while grinding jets, i only ever faced he 162s and maybe the ocassional bi, i dont recall ever facing any jets other than that, even though it is at 5.7 now
You said the most troublesome plane you’d encounter was the Bf109. What do you think about fighting against Ta152’s in the F4U-4B? I’ve noticed if it’s any aircraft I always have trouble fighting against it’s always that one in the corsair.
I've played this plane a bunch, It's good. really REALLY good. The raw performance isn't as good as the P-51H, but the roll rate, guns, and lower speed handling are better. There isn't really any plane it fights you can't beat with this.
Thanks for the dogfight brake down. Showing mistakes help us lean to fight just as good as fight you win. Please if you could include the method of side climbing you use and when. Finally I just thank you
I have 250 kills plus or minus couple in the 4B Corsair in sim. The next runner up is 67😂 i love the 4B in Sim battles. It definitely takes patience to play the 4B well. The only plane that takes more patience is the p51. Imo

the AU-1? Its a much heavier plane as its loaded down with armor for ground attack duty, and a slightly downrated engine. On the other hand the F4U-7 (in the French tree) has the same fuselage and armor as the AU-1 but with the F4U-4's engine

Worst case of this is the Japanese Bf 109 E7, sits at 2.3 BR while its equivalents in the German tree (109 E4 and E7) are at 3.0
war thunder really is a special place. The game is a wacky place. I believe you should be out turning Zeros at 216mph because the F4Us and Hellcats were designed to do that. Also the F4U is supposed to be extremely agile. More agile than 109s which is true in real life.
On the 4:00 dogfight vs the bf109 your error was to abuse flaps too much, not going down or up. Should have not used combat flaps at all and use landing just to get the shot in the last second and would have not stalled below him.
the 109 has no chance agains the corsairs of same rank now. even though they got nerfed overall. the improved engines now make the corsair so good at stalling, that the 109 can no longer use its main strength - in my opinion. at least to me, the 109s, especially the F4 are not what they used to be…

I miss this 5.7-6.3 BR. It was so vibrant. F4U4Bs, P-51H, P-47M, Spitfires, Tempests, vs 109Ks, 190D, And TA152s. Amazing how 1 plane killed a BR

damn you just explained my exact strategy when im playing my ta 152 c3. its so fun and it has the potential to carry HARD!

Corsair is a complete tractor at power speeds below 200km/h, it has literally tons of thrust. While 109s lose 50% or more thrust below 220km/h

Best USA prop plane in the tree, I have to say. Also my favorite plane in the game by a wide margin.
I have to say, the Corsairs are absolutely outstanding. I especially love the French F4U-7 since it can both dogfight and have bombs if you need them.
I struggle in the F4U's, I'll keep this in mind when I crack one out again.

When you get to 6.0 you can dogfight Japan pretty well
I would recoomend playing the f2g. The guns are much worse, but to me at least, ti handles alot better.
