I talked to a history teacher at my college and his mentor's requirement was that his dissertation had to weigh 5lbs on the scale. Wow!! This may be really odd but I'm someone who's dreaming of pursuing a PhD and traveling around similarly to you and I also like animals but I didn't think having a pet of my own would be possible. I'd love to know how you do it and how you prepared for getting a dog, how you knew you could do it and whether it affects your planning for the future.
