    What's the best Coen brothers movie we've ever gotten? I have to go with No Country for Old Men...

      If you've never seen it, check out "The Hudsucker Proxy." Criminally underrated! Made right before The Big Lebowski and Hudsucker is just as funny in my opinion, it's a top tier film from their filmography that I don't think many people have seen.

      No Country is overrated. Hudsucker Proxy is awful. My fave is A Serious Man.

    I just got out of this movie and my lord if feels like someone’s first movie. The scene transitions and strange interludes felt like a child who discovered editing software and decided to use every animation available.

      Couldn’t agree more, I kept saying it felt like it was Ethan Coen’s directorial debut. From the creative choices around the transitions, you would never know he’s part of one of the best director duos we’ve ever had. Thanks for watching, Kenny!

    I watched it last night, and I am right there with you. Super disappointed that Ethan didn't try anything different. It was a caricature of a Coen Bros. Movie, ultimately leaving out most of what makes their movies great.

    • @SullyStreams
      @SullyStreams  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah it just felt like he set out to do a cheap imitation of the style they've been nailing for decades now, not sure why he didn't try to branch out a little like how Joel did with Macbeth. Thanks for watching, dude!

    So I'm in the theater I brought a date bunch of tweens in the seats up higher The older couple down a few seats from us and yeah movie was polarizing I don't know if the director was on acid when they made this The chemistry between the two girls is horrible but I really a fan of them pretty lot of lesbian sex which as a man I have no problem with this is definitely a movie that both men and women can watch but I probably would have waited for this to come on stream wasn't the world's worst movie just a lot of things didn't work but a few did I did like the chemistry between the two guys but yeah I'm with the reviewer these guys need to come together and make a another great epic movie like the ones in the past this one just seems like a quick cash grab

    I liked it more than you did, but seriously what was up with the editing?! Why are there entire sequences of psychedelic imagery for no reason at all lol, biggest problem with the movie for me.

    • @SullyStreams
      @SullyStreams  5 месяцев назад

      For me, this is a perfect example of an editing style that will take me completely out of the movie. The transitions and sound effects were nonsensical, and the psychedelic slideshows added nothing to the experience. You’re not gonna catch me watching this one again anytime soon. Thanks for checking out the video!

    I was confused why a straight man had any right to make a movie like this. Then I realized ethan and his wife are in a non traditional marriage where they both have separate partners and Cooke identifies as a lesbian. It was definitely an interesting movie. Coen said it was a bid to get more B movies made and I’m here for that

  • @matthewlawlis2421
    @matthewlawlis2421 5 месяцев назад +1

    I felt it was a little too hyper sexual. They focused way too much on getting as much lesbian sex in there as possible. Believe me, I dont mind this, but it takes away from any story or comedy that they could have created. It almost seemed like the sex was being used for shock value; and in todays world, sex is not shocking. Also the commercials for the movie had the only good parts in it for the most part.
