I apologize for the low 360p video quality. Had a glitch with this upload and a few others that I didn't realize until it was too late!
aw man...low video quality is not even on my mind. learning how to not suck at slide, however, definitely IS. and that's a really good point you made that I think is worthy of reflecting on every time I am ready to give up on not sucking at slide. If anyone had a great excuse to never pick up or learn slide it was Dickey. It took a lot of spirit to dig deep, write a song honoring his fallen brother *and* becoming good enough to play slide on that song. anyway....thanks for the great content. once again, glad i found this channel. peace
No apologies Necessary my friend, Great lesson !
Thank you. Some great suggestions here ❤.
Great lesson brother! Rock on!👍🎸
Did not know dickey played slide on this. Always assumed it was Duane
The song was written about Duane's passing
Thats an amazing thick creamy tone from a Tele!! Well done on so many levels
Hey thanks! I'm on a long hiatus from playing slide and I haven't played this guitar in well over a year. The actions probably all messed up now!
@@JeffWilliamsGuitarthx
Great insight for a slide beginner like myself. Any lessons or insight on slide in the style of Lowell George?
Great lesson. Thanks man!
Hey no prob!
Excellent. Thank you.
No prob.
You should do a video on the early 70s they love each other solo. I just watched your stuff on the other parts and it was fantastic!
Great suggestion!
Great lesson Jeff!! Do you think you could maybe make a video on how warren Haynes uses the Mixolydian scale? Or even other players like or trey or Duane. How do they use the scale differently than Jerry? Hopefully you get what I’m saying. Nevertheless, keep up the good work. Your vids help my playing a lot!
Thanks! Yeah, that's a great idea! Just added to my list.

Nice video but Dickey did not learn to play slide when Duane died. He was a master dobro & acoustic slide player and did not play electric slide as Duane had that. That is why Dickey could play like a master on day one and play both his parts and Duanes.
As a matter of fact, there's a picture of Duane and Dickey in a hotel room playing acoustic guitars and Dickey is the one playing slide!
Do you look like Frank Zappa or What?? Fab video thanks
Were you on the bridge pickup?
Yup. It's actually the only pickup setting I like on that tele.
@@JeffWilliamsGuitar cool...ty sir....been trying to delve into the slide /alternate tuning thing lately
@@Love_Noise I used to think playing in an alternate tuning would mess with my head so I did'nt even try it for years but it's way easier than I thought. I should've tried it way sooner.
👍👍👍👍👍 being able to fingerpick open strings while singing sealed the deal....and the slide possibilities...forget about it....definitely where my practicing is focused
Colab with Tobey and Davy from play dead !
I've never done a colab. It's about time though.
Toby and Davy are fn hilarious
Jeff Williams Guitar I love their jam live streams you should try it !
@@Love_Noise Yeah, I've seen a couple of their videos. Funny guys and great editing skills!
@@sethmoniz4804 Live streaming is another thing I haven't tried yet but have been meaning too. I'm honestly struggling to keep up with my usual content because I in a busy 'life stage'. But soon I'll be back to full force and trying out all sorts of new things!
