The Amazon rainforest is disappearing at an alarming rate, with 42 hectares lost every minute. By 2030, this vital ecosystem could be in serious danger of vanishing. In the Ecuadorian Amazon, the Achuar people are fighting back through the Kapawi Tourism Project, which helps to protect 80.000 hectares of rainforest.
Chumpi Washikiat, President of the MAANA Association, leads the community's efforts to balance tourism with conservation. The Call of the Forest explores how the Achuar have turned tourism into a tool for protecting their land, culture, and environment.
