Love the analysis already, so kind of you to share the behind the scenes of how you prepared and executed! It would be great if you could maybe include some estimates of how much it costs to run a race with the setup that you had in the final film, as it surely is not just a few bucks. I'm impressed with your preparation for the race and wish I had taken more time to do that back when I ran the Moab 240 back in 2018. I'm very interested in the ketones you mentioned in the video. I was definitely losing it in the last two nights of my race and I suspect it was a combination of sleep deprivation and a lack of focus for the race. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to your movie on this race. I am itching to go back as it was really transformative for me. But I also have my eye on the Delirious West 200 miler in Australia. Maybe I should just do both 😀

Man congratz. Have done my second marathon recently and was toasted for a week cant phathom to run 240 miles (yet 😏).
I run (pretty slow) for 3 hours on a typical day, uh oh 😅 good thing I eat my vegetables!

Yes, Yes, and More Yes!! I have to be totally honest here - when I saw this pop up on me feed I thought "Ah crap" as this story isn't something you can rush. How this race played out, especially those last few hours needs the full meal deal video. Take your time and do it right as that baby could be award winning! It already was a phenomenal experience to follow you with the life tracking system during the race and the updates on instagram, but this training diaries and all the other footage makes it a really joy to follow and total awe of what you have accomplished. Your mention of 1 mile difference is a fair distance, given that even if you had pushed more and caught up, Jesse may have had something in reserve. Where and what you might have adjusted with the benefit of hindsight or whether you even would have allowed a deviation from the plan. Whatever the case, really great stuff. Wow Amazing. I have a confession to make. I always thought of you as this guy who makes these amazing amazing videos. I would post links to my friends and say you have to watch his videos because of the scenery you capture and how you do like a tour guide of the areas you race. So yeah I thought of you as a tour guide who does races. But now with a 2nd place finish at Moab, oops he's a serious trail runner also 😂😂😂

I did a consideration: if you want to start focusing on time and race position, do you think filming is something that is holding you back?
Will you consider the Tor des Glaciers for next year?
It’s hard to say if and how filming affects the outcomes of my race, but I’m sure it’s a net negative when it comes to finishing times. Tor des Glaciers is definitely on my list, but likely not something I’d entertain in the next couple of years - I’ve got some other shorter term goals.
