Indeed! It is a really cool place to play and has had a tremendous positive effect on the local crime levels. However, it is definitely a hassle to play there but is a great experience for those who go
I read about Barrow in SI back in high school. One of the coolest things I can remember is the kids going for a victory swim in the ocean after beating their rivals.
There are some surprisingly good teams here. Obviously no Mater Deis or IMGs but we we still produce some college and even NFL talents. Some of the better team include Barrow in the video, Soldotna at the D2 level and Juneau-Douglas at the D1. I believe Soldotna recently beat a relatively high ranked California team earlier this season
Probably a loser bracket, double elim set up.. or just straight up 1-6 going at it. Not much exposure, a kid would have to go absolutely nuts here and be invited elsewhere to see what he’s really about. They should merge with another to make a bigger conference and that talent pool would for sure garner attention with all of those highschool teams going against eachother in one region. Travel and costs would be the only problem.
@@jordanengstrom2269 just play every team home and away for ten games. I guess you can have a championship game between the top two teams. But no multi round playoff bracket
I just want to know who came up with this dumbass idea?! Liiike i dont want to look cute so bad to the point that im freezing on a flooded field for like 2 games per season because we only play 5 games?? What a waste of school resources. They might as well built an indoor stadium, they prolly could've gotten more teams to play them. They dont even have stands because the ocean tides prolly keep destroying them. 😂 Cant think of a dumber situation.
Imagine getting hitsticked by a polar bear😂
The closest team in their conference is like 500 miles away
Lucky and unlucky at the same time

Roster at 40 ppl with the polar bear.💀

MY FRIEND IS THERE!!!
Man these kids better be the TRUTH
I’m playing with no sleeves
Put the polar bear on the line nobody would ever wanna get close
That first image nearly shocked me because it’s my school colors and one letter off from being the name
I’ve played there. I live a few hours south in North Pole
From kodiak, same. Was a good time🤝
How popular is football in alaska?
@@Otto1360 for small and medium conference schools, it was pretty big. Not much else to do besides going to the games
@@Otto1360 during October to December the big thing is wrestling as the meets last two full days
This looks like a post apocalyptic world years later during the rebuilding of society playing football next to the ocean and a bomb crater turned lake
driving like 10 hrs to an away high school football game is crazy, although it is a cool field.
That looks crazy and cool!
Where are the bleachers for people to sit
People pull up in cars and 4wheelers to watch
From Kodiak, got to go up and play them my senior year. Can confirm polar bears like to hangout
Before I say that it is, I need to know if another one of the teams play on a iceburg.
Let’s send those TX/FL/CA teams up there and see what happens
most insane home field advantage
Bravo!
I feel bad for their kickers
Imagine having to line up against a polar bear wearing a football helmet
Nah I’m good cuz if a frickin polar bear is on their team I’m instantly forfeiting 💀💀😭
I’d be scared of polar bears ngl
WITH ZERO CROWED PRESENCE 😂TRAVIS HUNTER WOULD HATE THIS
wait till the tsunami hits when yall playing 😅
Where do the people sit
Yes
NOPE! Southern California Beach Schools have better settings. No bears.
Are the fields actually on the beach though?
Santa Barbara is on the beach.
*unique. He said most unique
gunna be gone in 10 years 🤣
Wow
Yes, are the competitive teams from Alaska?

Bro my last name it Barrow
I lived there and it was not a great place it was terrible
Where’s the bleachers?
send img there to play them
Where’s the school
About a 10 minute bus ride away 😂
Why does a six team conference need playoffs?
Is this a serious question? Why even bother playing the season then? There needs to be a winner at the end no?

Because it keeps alaskan kids out of trouble. Gave us something to do growing up. And a sense of drive and purpose
Suck it Green Bay lol
